Carol Ann Roberts, 80, of Versailles, passed away Monday February 15, 2021. She was born August 2, 1940 in New Castle and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Doris (Leonard) McMullen. Carol was a member of the D.A.R., and enjoyed history, literature and the Ballet. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, baking, her flower garden, wild life, and her dogs and cats.

Mary (Smolinsky) Belback, age 101, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on February 13, 2021, at Walden’s View of North Huntingdon. Born in McKeesport on November 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Wasyl & Anna (Misczycha) Smolinsky.  Mary worked at Christy Park Works during World War II and later in the Accounts Receivable Department as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church, McKeesport, where she volunteered as a “pirohi lady.”  Mary, with her late husband, Henry, lovingly enjoyed many family social events. Their travels and vacations left them with many fond memories. Her passion was bingo and casinos were a close second. A lucky lady she was. She was the wife of the late Henry A. Belback for 65 years; sister of late Leona (late Erfan) Shevke, late Olive (late John) Benyak, Genevieve (late Andrew) Yuna of North Versailles, Pearl “Billie” (late Joseph) Rolnik of White Oak, late Stanley Smolnicky, late Michael Smolinsky and late Jean Konias. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jean S. Kmetz, Stan Smolnicky, Lee Stebick, Joanne Wakefield, Maryann Zoscak, Janice Rolnik, Diane Seltzer (her godchild), Mary McDonald and many great nieces and nephews.

Patricia A. Macik, 80, of White Oak, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021. She was born January 3, 1941 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Michael "Mickey" and Katherine (Maysak) Macik. Patricia was a 1958 graduate of McKeesport High School and 1962 graduate of California State Teachers College. She was an English Teacher at Elizabeth Forward High School. She retired after many wonderful years of teaching many great students, who occupy valuable roles in our communities today. She also cared for her mother, father, and uncle in their senior years.

Louise Ann (Larkin) Rutherford, age 73, of Monroeville, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2021, of dementia. Born April 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William A. and Barbara (Kough) Larkin.
Louise graduated from Uniontown High School in 1965, moved to Pittsburgh, and became a registered nurse (RN, then BSN from Duquesne University). She worked as a nurse for over four decades and cared for her patients (many of them higher needs children) like family. She remained close to her children and grandchildren, even when miles apart.

Ruthanne Toth, age 81 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital.  Born April 18, 1939 in West Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late Grant and Sara (Williams) Leasure.  A member of St. Isaac Jogues Parish in Elrama, Ruthanne attended school for and worked in the field of medical transcription.  She then became a trainer at Off-The-Wall Racquetball and a yoga instructor at CCAC.  She also was Vice President and Secretary for East Bank Machine in Elizabeth for 25 years.  Ruthanne is survived by her husband of 61 years Edward A. Toth, her daughter Valerie (Oscar) Keys of Bel Air, MD, her grandchildren Sierra and Chelsey Keys, her stepsister Brenda Lucas, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ruthanne was preceded in death by her son Edward Toth, Jr., who passed away in 1985, and her sister Norine Fisher.

Robert J. “Bob” Blake, age 76, of North Versailles, passed away on February 12, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Born in McKeesport on August 28, 1944, he was the son of the late Walter and Julia (Kochuba) Blake. He was a senior design draftsman with 36 years service for Vista Metals.  He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church and a member of the Board of Directors at the VFW in Schellsburg. He loved all his friends in Key West, Florida that he called “family.” Bob proudly served his country in the Army. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Jean (Gajdos) Blake; father of Jason (Lesley Berthold) Blake of North Versailles, Justin (Kylene) Blake of Plum Boro, Jared (Christine) Blake of Leigh Acres, FL; grandfather of Andrew Jacob Blake, Katie Jean Blake, Lena Belle McLean, Blake Logan McLean, Lily McLean, Kaitlyn Berthold and Haydn Berthold; brother of the late Paul (surviving spouse Nancy) Blake of Florida and the late Barbara Blake. Yancic, age 66 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Thursday, February 11, 2021.  Born July 6, 1954 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Bessie (Pekarsky) Lugarich.  A graduate and member of the alumni association of St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing, Kathy worked as a nurse first for McKeesport Hospital and retired from Forbes Regional in Monroeville.  She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick's Church and also attended St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael's Church and also volunteered for Family Hospice.  In her spare time, Kathy was a passionate shopper and bargain hunter, but was truly passionate about her great-niece-and-nephew and spending time with her devoted and adoring husband  She is survived by her husband of 35 years Dane N. Yancic; her nieces and nephews Kristin (Kevin) Wasko of Jefferson Hills, Stephen (Kathleen) Lugarich of Alexandria, VA, Michael (Laura) Lugarich of McCandless Twp., PA, and Michelle, William, and Vanessa Spencer; her great-niece-and-nephew Brayden and Madison Wasko; and her sisters-in-law Paula Lugarich of Elizabeth Twp. and Paulette (Bill) Spencer of Orlando, FL.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death earlier this year by her brother Stephen F. Lugarich.

Stephen "Steve" Pavlecic, age 88 of North Huntingdon, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at UPMC McKeesport.  Born August 6, 1932 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Dragutin "Charles" and Jelica "Helen" (Zalac) Pavlecic.  He worked as a laborer for Operating Engineers Local #66, a delivery driver for Vienna Baking - Tastemaster Division, and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Steve was a member of CFU Lodge #146 and its Men’s Club and the White Oak American Legion Post #701.  Stephen was preceded in death by his wife Lauretta (Hlad) Pavlecic who died on October 4, 1987.  He is survived by his sister Frances "Honeygirl" (Tom) Felak of Aiken, SC, brother Tom (Joan) Pavlecic of San Jose, CA, companion Shirley Korenic of North Huntington, and many nieces and nephews including Mikey “Dee” Dorich.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph, George, Nick, Frank and Peter Pavlecic and his sister Donna Dudik.

(Barbara) Pohelia of Akron, OH and the late Jane Nye; great aunt of Heidi (late Scott) Smith of Florham Park, NJ; great-great aunt of Cassie Smith; special friend of the late Gary Goyke. Shirley Mae Burd, age 83, of Dravosburg, formerly of Port Vue, died February 10, 2021, at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born July 26, 1937, in Boston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Max and Clara (Belles) Schlessinger and the wife of the late John Christia Burd.

Shirley was the co-owner, secretary, and treasurer of the former Schlessinger Trucking Co. She was also a recruiter for the Peer Group with 18 years of service. Shirley was a member and Deacon of the former Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises with her family. Shirley was a member of the Port Vue American Legion Post # 447 Women's Auxiliary, where she was past secretary and treasurer.
