Rose Mary (Stark) Conroy

February 29, 2024 |

By Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory | Posted in: Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory

Rose Mary (Stark) Conroy, 85, of White Oak, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024. She was born on November 20, 1938, in Braddock and was the daughter of the late Edwin and Ida (Twadell) Stark. She was the loving wife of Joseph F. Conroy of White Oak.

Rose was retired from the Accounting Dept. of Johnston the Florist in North Huntingdon, a fitting job for someone with a flower name. She was a voracious reader, preferring large print, and couldn't wait each year for the newest Janet Evanovich book. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo with her friends at Redstone, and watching and feeding birds. She greatly enjoyed all kinds of flowers EXCEPT lilies, we all knew better than to buy her those! Mum had a fun sense of humor. When asked if she was a veteran, she simply replied, "Well, yes. I had five kids." She made wonderful stuffed cabbage, was terrific at word searches, and would always lend an ear if you were feeling down.

Her favorite song was "Welcome To My World" by Eddy Arnold, and we'd often hear her singing, " Welcome to my world, won't you come on in. Miracles I guess, still happen now and then. Step into my heart, leave your cares behind. Welcome to my world, built with you in mind. Knock and then the door shall be opened, seek and you will find. Ask and you'll be given, the key to this heart of mine. I'll be waiting there, with my arms unfurled. Waiting just for you, welcome to my world."

She'll be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her and missed even more by those who were fortunate enough to love her and be loved by her.
