He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janis, daughters, Melissa Detman (Steven), Amanda Noel (Joshua), grandchildren and his biggest fans, Eli, Edie, and Karolyn,  his  sisters, Linda Kundtz (Ralph) and Jane Ann Derewonko(Michael) plus numerous nieces and nephews. Teeny had a great sense of humor, loved fishing, camping, cowboy movies, gardening, telling stories, animals, desserts, yard sales and painting anything he could get his hands on.

Carl E. Sumpter, Jr., 68 of Clairton, Pennsylvania, departed this life Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in Family Hospice and Pallative Care. He was born November 3, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Carl E. Sumpter Sr. and Dorothy Mae Williams Presley Session. He was preceded in death by wife of 41 years, Deborah Marie Norris Sumpter. He was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church, where he sang in the Mass Choir. He retired from US Steel and worked as a Security Guard at AGH Jefferson Hospital with Criterion Security. Surviving are wife, Juanita Horne Sumpter, children, Carla (Robert) Sims of Pittsburgh. Step-children Naté Horne, Amberly Horne, Raecale Horne; grandsons, Robert F. Sims, IV, Michael Carlan, Camren Richard Sims; Siblings, Laura (Dennis) Dunlap, Charles Clinton Frye; half-brothers, Gregory, Terry, and Derrick, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends will be received Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Morningstar Baptist Church, 307 Shaw Avenue., Clairton.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Willie Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. Arrangements entrusted to the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., Clairton, PA.

LaVANCE E. LONESOME, Jr. Age 24, of Duquesne, on December 17, 2016, at home. He was a son of LaVance E. Lonesome, Sr. of Duquesne and Melodee (Scott) Lonesome of Atlanta, GA. He was a member of Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church, Duquesne. He enjoyed writing music, and playing video games. He was a graduate of Columbia High School in Decatur, GA and he attended Atlanta Technical School. Besides his parents, his is survived by sisters and brother, Sequayah Scott of Duquesne, K'Hari Lonesome of Duquesne, Jasmine Lonesome of Homewood; uncle of Kassidy Scott; grandson of Lorraine Scott of Duquesne; also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives. Visitation on Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 2-6 p.m. at the MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300 where funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Rev. He was a son of the late Jack D. and Anne (Hamarich) Spell, Sr. He was retired from U.S. Steel Clairton Works with 35 years service where he was a Larry car operator. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Duquesne. He was an avid fisherman. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps with service in Vietnam and after returning to the United States he served as a drill instructor at Quantico, VA. Beloved husband of 40 years to Edith E. (Estochin) Spell; father of Jack (Karen) Spell III of Liberty Borough and Lisa Spell of White Oak; grandfather of Brandon, Ashley, Justin and Declan Spell; brother of William (Debbie) Spell of Duquesne and the late Robert (surviving spouse Judith) Spell of White Oak; son-in-law of Mildred (late Edward) Estochin of East McKeesport; also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300 with additional visitation on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Duquesne at which time services will be held. Rev. Judith Slater officiating. Burial with military honors at Holy Name Cemetery, West Mifflin.
