Walter “Buck” Charles Salka, 81, of Clairton, formerly of Bunola, passed away at home on January 16, 2017. He was born June 1, 1935, in Bunola, to the late John and Sophie Fetchen Salka. He is survived by daughter, Melissa A. Lees of Elizabeth; son Carl (Samantha) Salka of Ramona, CA; grandchildren, Gunner, Dallas & Summer Lees; brothers, Ted Salka & Frank Salka both of Bunola; and sister, Agnes Leskus of Bethel Park. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Michael, Joseph, Stanley, and Clarence Salka; sisters, Clare Krauss, Blanche Salka, Mary Lewis, and Helen Salka. Walter served in the U S Airforce during the Korean War, was a member of the V.F.W, W.A.C Club and American Legion all in Clairton, and was retired from U. S. Steel Irvin Works Plant in West Mifflin. James “Jim” “Fizzer” Noris O’Bryon, 86, of West Mifflin, formerly of Jefferson Hills, passed away at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born August 22, 1930, in McKeesport, to the late Clifford and Margaret Lloyd O’Bryon. James is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Harrison O’Bryon; daughter, Marsha (Douglas) Murphy of Chantilly, VA; grandsons, Matthew & Kyle Murphy also of Chantilly, VA and loyal dog “Bear”. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Eileen Baron, Patricia Minnicks; brother, Lloyd O’Bryon. Jim served in the US Army during WWII, was employed by US Steel Irvin Works in plant protection, was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church, enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, golfing, was the former owner of Mon Valley Shooting Supplies, former president of the Lions Club of Jefferson Hills, the Syria Shrine Gun Club and Clairton Sportsman Club, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge # 765 of East McKeesport, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, the Masonic Scottish Rite of Pittsburgh and American Legion Post 712 in Pleasant Hills. Visitation will take place on Sunday January 15, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday January 16, 2017 at 10:00 am followed by interment at Jefferson Memorial Park with military honors. Constance Josephine Assenti, 91, of Clairton, formerly of Vestaburg, PA, passed away at Baldwin Health Center on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. She was born June 27, 1925 to the late Frank and Enrica Marini DeFabbo. Constance was the loving wife of the late Joseph Assenti. She is survived by daughters Denise Assenti of Clairton, Natalie (Thomas) Hathazy of Pittsburgh; sister Rose (Sonny) Rager of Loveland, CO; brother Samuel DeFabbo of Denver, CO; grandson Eric (Sandra) Hathazy of Jefferson Hills; granddaughter Nicole (Jon) Bilski of Jefferson Hills; great grandchildren Casey, Colby, Adison; and lifelong friend Dinean Follador Benack of Pleasant Hills. In addition to her parents and husband, Constance was preceded in death by sister Madeline Hodinko and brothers Anthony, Innocente, Dominic, Frank, and Henry DeFabbo. She was a member of the I.S.D.A., was employed by the City of Clairton School District, a member of St. Clare of Assisi parish, enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ethel Jane Eschelbacher, 92, of Clairton, previously of Wilkinsburg, passed away at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. She was born in Pittsburgh on July 14, 1924 to the late George C. and Ethel MacDonald Beers. Ethel was the loving wife of the late Edward A. Eschelbacher who passed away in 2010. She is survived by daughter, Barbara A. Richardson of Seattle WA; sons, Keith M. Richardson of Glassport, Edward A. Eschelbacher Jr. of Pittsburgh; step daughter, Sandra Gerendash of McKeesport. Ethel was employed by Union Railroad, Union National Bank, Swindell Dressler Company in Pittsburgh and Clairton Police Department as a secretary, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Wilkinsburg, Lebanon Presbyterian Church of West Mifflin, and a member of Clairton Hill AARP # 2862. Daryl Ann Hemann Sproul, 77, of Liberty Boro, formerly of McKeesport, passed away at home on Wednesday December 21, 2016. She was born May 7, 1939 in McKeesport to the late Oliver L. and Viola Edith Hammerstram Hemann. Daryl is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Howard; daughter, Laurie (Ray) Huckestein of Sewickley; son, Howard D. James “Fearless” F. Hvozdik, 63, of Glassport passed away at home on Wednesday December 21, 2016. He was born November 11, 1953 in McKeesport to Jean R. Dworek Hvozdik and the late George F.
