Albert P. Papula, age 67 of North Huntingdon died November 5, 2019. He was born April 20, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Albert and Marianne Micklos Papula. Albert was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirate fan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, self employed as a Cryogenics Engineer and a graduate of Norwin Class of 1970. He is survived by his wife Beth Andolina Papula, two sons , Andrew (Jenna), Keith (Deanna) and one daughter Taylor Papula, brother, Gene (Christa) Papula, sister Marianne Papula, 4 grandchildren, Kane, Kora, Sylas and Jackson.

Patricia Rae DeLeo, 85, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019.  She was born May 18, 1934 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late James and Dolly (Moyer) O'Neill.  Pat was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Penns Wood Civic Association and enjoyed playing cards, visiting the casino and loved baking nut rolls.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic DeLeo; daughter, Donna Lee Tamilia; stepmother, Teresa Halliwell; brothers, William and James O'Neill; sisters, Dorothy Skonetzni and Gloria Lyons.  She is survived by her son, John Lee and his wife, Janet; daughters, Darlene Leader and her husband, William and Diane Clem and her husband, Jeff; son-in-law Joe Tamilia; grandchildren, Adam Tamilia, William Jr. (Courtney) and Dominic Leader, Alexa and Linda Lee, Nathan and Joel Kremer; Rachel Law (Cody, Peyton and Connor) and Madison Griffin (Adam); and countless loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the James W. Sally A. Burk, 86, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019. She was born December 15, 1932 in North Huntingdon, daughter of the late J. Audley and Ellabell (Buzzard) Miller.  Sally was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Jeannette, and enjoyed crafting, baking and gardening.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Burk and daughter, Nancy Burk.  She is survived by her son, Robert Burk and his wife, Laura; daughter, Janet Norton and her husband, David; three grandchildren, Megan (JW) Lattimer, Katie (Cody) Frick; Jennifer Norton; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Lattimer.  Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the James W. Dr. Robert E. Beranek

Dr. Robert E. Beranek, 88, of North Huntingdon Township, died on October 31, 2019.  He was born June 3, 1931 in the village of Central, East Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Charles and Anna Beranek.  Dr. Beranek obtained a Bachelor's Degree with high honors from St. Vincent College in 1953.  He was a veteran, having served twenty seven months in the US Army between 1953 and 1955.  Following military service, he earned a Master's Degree in Political Science from Fordham University and a Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.  Dr. Beranek taught in the Department of Political Science at Duquesne University for 35 years.  While teaching a wide array of courses, his primary interests lie with the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.  When teaching Eastern Europe, Dr. Beranek placed special emphasis on the two countries from where his grandparents had originated, namely the Czech Republic and Slovakia.  Widely acclaimed as an excellent lecturer, he received a Student Government Award for Distinguished Teaching and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching.  He retired as a Professor Emeritus of Political Science.  Dr. Beranek was a member of the American Political Science Association and the Pennsylvania Political Science Association.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Beranek, and a sister, Elsie Hapchuk.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty (Miller) Beranek of North Huntingdon; two sons, Robert A. Beranek and his wife, Pamela, of North Huntingdon; David E. Beranek and his wife, Tina, of Virginia; and a daughter, Lynn T. Vita and her husband, Charles, of North Huntingdon; six grandchildren, Leanndra, Lindsay, Matthew, Michael, Mikayla, Jonathon; two great-grandchildren, Cayden and Layla; sister, Marian Kitta, of Mount Pleasant; and numerous nephews and nieces.  Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the James W. Kathleen Nurse Bauer , 101 passed away Friday, October 25. 2019 at Transitions Health Care Center.  She was born January 7, 1918 in Cornwall, England and was a longtime resident of McKeesport.  Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents William and Lilian Nurse, husband, Louis, sons Louis Jr, James, Robert and Jeffrey, grandson Eric, daughter-in-law, Jane, sister Lillian and brother James.  She is survived by daughter in laws, Charlotte and Marjorie,  numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Kathleen will be remembered for her kindness and generosity by all the hearts she touched.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Genevieve H. Marsh, 94, of Mars, formerly of North Huntingdon, died October 29, 2019 at RoseCrest Assisted Living, Mars, Pa. She was born June 25, 1925 in Helvetia, Pa., a daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Burkowski) Malewicz. Genevieve was a florist for the former Irwin Floral. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, a longtime member of Greenridge Garden Club, Jacktown Ride & Hunt Club, and volunteered at the Greensburg Garden Center. She was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed making crafts especially Christmas ornaments and beautiful Christmas stockings for each of her grandchildren. She was infamous for her meatloaf, potato salad, blonde brownies and red velvet cake. She loved polka music and spending time at the family camp in Chautauqua County, N.Y. sitting outside on the porch watching the birds, swatting flies and playing skat with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Marsh; brothers, Stanley and Chester Malewicz; and sisters, Leona Bigney and Josephine Barr. She is survived by her son, Chet Marsh and his wife, Sheryl; daughters, Constance Allwine and her husband, Ken, Lee Burkhart and her husband, Ron "Zippy"; grandchildren, Kathy Dowdy, Ken (Eilleen) Allwine, Brett Allwine, Gary (Cayce) Hoenshel, Ashlee (James) Landreth, Jacquelyn (John) Lojek, Nichole Marsh; 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, 4 nieces dear to her heart, Darlene, Genevieve, Linda and Cheryl. JoAnn E. Gaudino, 78, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019.  She was born, July 12, 1941 in Latrobe, daughter of the late George and Eva (Rady) Gubanich.  She was a member of St. Agnes Parish.  JoAnn worked as a team member at the Norwin Towne Square McDonalds as well as a housecleaner for many years.   JoAnn enjoyed bowling, golfing and cooking for her family.  In her most recent years, JoAnn cherished her time with her husband winning at the casino, babysitting her grand pets, and spoiling her great-grandchildren and great-niece.  She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Peter Gaudino; son, Rick Gaudino and his wife, Margie; daughters, Michele Evans and her husband, Mark, Patti Andrison and her  husband, Geoff; brothers, George (Connie) Gubanich, Edward (Carol) Gubanich;  four grandchildren, Katie and Tony Gaudino, Jennifer and Patrick Evans; and two great-grandchildren, Vincent and Jordyn.  Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the James W. Rosemarie Dailey Moroney, age 93 of North Huntingdon died Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Hempfield Manor.

She was born December 11, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pa,, a daughter of the late Oliver and Rosalia Babski Dailey. Rosemarie was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon, where she previously volunteered at church bazaars and the school cafeteria. She was also a member of the Womens Democratic Club.

She is survived by one son Patrick (Andrea), two daughters, Maureen Beal (Hugh), Michelle Moroney, four grandchildren, Kelly and Colleen Moroney, Frank and Andrew Beal.

Tyler Joe Ball, 27, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 in Shadyside Hospital.  He was born, August 17, 1992 in Memphis, TN, son of Joe and Teresa (Brewer) Ball.  Tyler was a 2010 graduate of Norwin Sr. High School where he was a member of the Student Council and National Honor Society.  He earned his Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Supply Chain Management through the pharmacy department at Duquesne University.  He was employed by UPMC Pittsburgh and was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed golfing, baseball and fishing.  He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Martha Brewer; and paternal grandparents, Tom and Norma Ball.  He is survived by his maternal grandfather, Otis Brewer; sister, Lauren Ball; uncle, David (Charlotte) Ball; cousin, Liz Robertson; and an amazing circle of friends.  Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. on Monday at the James W. Chomanics Sr., 81, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019.  He was born October 12, 1938 in McKeesport, son of the late Michael and Julia Rebar Chomanics.  Prior to his retirement, Michael was a custodian for Norwin School District. Michael enjoyed woodworking and was previously self employed as a custom cabinet maker. He also enjoyed sightseeing and casino trips with his wife. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha M. Crew, 89, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019.  He was born December 15, 1929 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Frank and Sophie (Krawczyk) Kruczek.  He was a five year Army veteran during the Korean War, attended Russian Language School and served in the Army Security Agency. He was a graduate of Penn State University and upon graduation was employed by US Steel at the Edgar Thompson Works where he was  awarded an Andrew Carnegie Scholarship to attend Carnegie Tech to further his studies in electrical engineering   He was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, longtime member of North Huntingdon Democratic Club, elected democratic committee man, and longtime member of the Wilmerding YMCA.  Ray had a love for politics and nature, and was an avid gardener and feeder of all animals.  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Park Crew; beloved father of Jennifer Crew and her husband Andrew Davis, Rebecca Beal and her husband, Brandon, Raymond C. John A. Sotak, age 56, of Fuqua Varina, North Carolina, formerly of North Huntingdon died October 7, 2019 at his home. He was born May 9, 1963 in Braddock, Pa., a son of Barbara Hruby  Sotak and the late John B. Sotak. John was employed as the International Director of Sales for Xylem Inc. He was a 1981 graduate of Norwin Senior High School and graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Darrin Dene Patterson, 44, formerly of North Huntingdon, PA passed away on October 9, 2019 in Melbourne, FL. He was born June 22, 1975 in Greensburg, PA. Beloved son of Dene and Dorothy Patterson. Darrin was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, FL where he was actively involved as the Cubmaster of Pack 373 and Arrow of Light Den Leader. He was a loving and dedicated husband and father who looked forward to scouting events, camping trips, building Lego Derby Cars,volunteering at Ascension Catholic School, and taking Tae Kwon Do with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Dene; and sister, Dalene.
