Joseph Nagy, age 82, of White Oak, died on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born in Glassport on April 6, 1940 and is the son of the late Joseph and Anna Skalski Nagy and the husband of the late I. Jean Shearer Nagy, who died on March 5, 1993. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA); McKeesport Sportsman’s Association; and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was employed and retired as a police officer for White Oak Borough. He also was a self-defense and firearms instructor for the McKeesport Sportsman’s Association and the White Oak Police Department and was a White Oak City Councilman for six years.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1960-1966 in Europe. He was employed at Pram Laboratories for 11 years, Westinghouse Transportation Division for 3 years, and Versa Fabricating for approximately 15 years where he retired.

After prolonged struggles with innumerable maladies, she just left her pain and suffering behind. Born in 1934 on Flag Day to John P. Hoerr, Jr. and Alyce Davenport, Lynn was extremely proud of her White Oak heritage. She loved to relate how her father, John, designed and built the original Rainbow Gardens complex.

He served in the United States Army in the Armored Tank Division during the Korean War. After the war, he was employed as an insurance sales agent for John Hancock for 38 years. He loved spending time with his family, listening to easy listening music, and watching old Sherlock Holmes and Western movies. He was a very religious man, attended Mass often, and enjoyed serving as an altar boy in his youth.

Fall was her favorite season and she'd never miss a Pittsburgh Steelers game. She was a true nurturer by nature and will be sorely missed by every person or creature that knew her.
