James F. Lafferty, 75, of Irwin, died Saturday March 10, 2018. He was born December 11, 1942 in Braddock, a son of the late James R. and Doris (Miller) Lafferty. Jim was a retired corrections officer at the State Correctional Institution, Greene County, and a veteran of the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Trafford American Legion and the Italian Miners Society, Hahntown. He is survived by his wife of over 25 years Tanya (Grubb) Lafferty; his children Kenneth A. (Ami) Lafferty of Charleroi and Jaime L. (Jon) Edwards of Rochester, MN; his siblings Carole (Fran) Santorello of Penn Hills and Al (Cathy) Lafferty of Aurora, OH; nieces and nephews Danielle Cole, Joey Santorello, Kelly Howe, Deana Romanov, and Megan, Stephen, and Katie Grubb; also great nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Bingo.

Warren H. McCarthy Sr., age 67, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was born February 28, 1951 in McKeesport, a son of Shirley (Dannenhauer) McCarthy and the late Harry G. McCarthy. He was proud to be a truck driver and volunteered as a fireman at Dept. 4 in Hartford Heights, Dept. 10 in Adamsburg and most recently at Dept. 61 in Hyde Park. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother Dale McCarthy. He is survived by his loving wife of over 27 years Norma (Dempsey) McCarthy; children Warren McCarthy Jr., Justin McCarthy, Christopher (Tarah) McCarthy and Melanie McCarthy; many grandchildren; and brother Kim McCarthy.

He was a World War II Army veteran that went onto work for Westinghouse Corporation for over 30 years as a chemical engineer before retiring. He was also member of the American Legion in Irwin. He was a longtime active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Larimer, a charter member of Larimer Volunteer Fire Department and longtime bartender at the Larimer Fireman’s Club. He is survived by his wife of nearly seventy one years Anna Mae (Wright) Malt; his children Robert J. “Zeke” Malt and his wife Amy of Larimer, Bruce E. He enjoyed his golfing and bowling leagues, was an avid reader and history buff, and loved to fish. His Sunday was not complete if he could not complete the New York Times crossword puzzle in an hour. In addition to his parents and grandparents he is preceded in death by children Paul Cody and Kathleen Billings and siblings Dorothy McDermott, Terrance and Patrick Cody. He is survived by his wife Theresa (Cicco) Cody; his children Barbara Mills, Vicki Weber, Mary E. She retired after 20 years as a deli cook at the Foodland in Turtle Creek and enjoyed the time she spent at the Life Pittsburgh Senior Center in McKees Rocks. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband John Del Grosso and second husband Jack Pape; son John Del Grosso; brother Ralph Sturchio; and sister Nancy Carnevale.
