Arlene Marie Dellapenna, age 71, of McKeesport, died June 2, 2017 at home with her family by her side. Born November 21, 1945, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Norma (Schweikert) Angotti and the wife of the late Richard Dellapenna, for over 47 years of marriage. Arlene was a retired school crossing guard with the McKeesport Area School District, and she was also a beautician in her early years. She was a great cook and truly enjoyed working with her husband Richard selling ice cream, as they were the owners of Dell’s Dessert Hut. You could find the two of them working together at Renzie Park and each year at International Village. She was a member of the former Riverview Baptist Church and more recently was a member of the Word of Life Church in Greensburg. Arlene dedicated her life to caring for her family and she adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Geneine (Louis) Dellapenna – Garancsi and Richard J. (Amy) Dellapenna both of Mckeesport; grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicole and Cody; great granddaughter, Arabella Marie Dellapenna; siblings, Jonette (Robert) Edkins of Pleasant Hills and Jerry (Nancy) Angotti of Clairton; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Alan Gross officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.

Joseph K. Fossi, 68, of Elizabeth Township, died Friday June 2, 2017. He was born January 11, 1949 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Adam and Ann Tedesco Fossi. Joseph was a Co-owner of Fossi and Zowacki Roofing and was a member of the Elizabeth Township Sportsman's Association. He was a US Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action there. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pamela Riley Fossi, son, Adam J. (Sabrina) Fossi of Squirrel Hill, daughter, Kelley A. (Richard Tarolli) Fossi of Houston, sister, Carole (Karl) Bergquist of Rocky River, OH, grandchildren, Audrey and Enzo Fossi, nieces and nephews.

William S. Astrab, age 87, of White Oak, died June 1, 2017, at home. Born January 26, 1930, in Duquesne, he was the son of the late George W. and Anna (Dzuro) Astrab and the husband of the late Elizabeth Jean (Kunkle) Astrab.
Bill was retired from the City of McKeesport Fire Department, where he bravely served the families of McKeesport for over 22 years. He then worked at the former McKeesport National Bank, as an auditor for an additional 10 years. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. Bill was a member of the Corpus Christi Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 701, the PNA and the 11th Ward Club. He enjoyed NCAA basketball, telling a good story and most of all spending time with his family and being proud of his grandchildren. Bill was an original “East Ender,” and loved to share stories about the old East End of McKeesport.
Bill is survived by his children, Kathleen (George) Astrab – Stepansky of White Oak, William Astrab of Stafford, VA and Patricia (Ismet) Adnan of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren, Katlyn, George and Daniel Stepansky, William and Sarah Astrab, Noah and Zane Adnan; brother, George W. “Udy” (Joanie) Astrab of Elizabeth Twp.; also many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, June 5, 2017, from 2 to 9 p.m., with the City of McKeesport Fire Department service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, 1 p.m. Fr. Steven M. Palsa will be the celebrant. Committal with military honors will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery.

Olive A. Benyak, age 95, of White Oak, formerly of McKeesport, died June 1, 2017, at LGAR Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born September 25, 1921, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Wasil and Anna (Misczycha) Smolinsky and the wife of the late John L. Benyak.
She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Maryann (John M.) Zoscak, Jr., of White Oak; grandchildren, Matthew (Aditi) Wirginis of Pittsburgh, Jennifer (Michael) Mengel of Baltimore, MD and David Benyak of Santa Monica, CA; great grandson, Nico Wirginis; sisters, Mary Belback of West Mifflin, Genevieve Yuna of North Versailles and Pearl Rolnik of White Oak; daughter-in-law, Marie Benyak of Gibsonia; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John W. Benyak; siblings, Jean Konias, Michael Smolinsky, Stanley Smolinsky and Leona Shevke; and son-in-law, Charles R. Wirginis.

Joseph W. Kuzio, 89 of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Glassport, Pa died May 26, 2017. He is the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Pogorzelski) Kuzio. Beloved husband of Theresa (Uziel) Kuzio; father of Mark Kuzio of Belfast, ME, Cynthia DiFulvio of Whitney Point, NY, Mary Anne Lindner of Virginia Beach, VA and Neil Kuzio of Franklin, MA; brother of Dolores Nizanty of Hollywood, FL; also 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Joseph was a retired Civil Engineer who graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1950 and served in the US Navy at the end of World War II. Joe was a kind, gentle, generous and loving husband, father and grandfather. Giving of himself, always interested and involved with whatever his children and grandchildren were doing. Full of wisdom and knowledge, we will be forever grateful. A private family memorial service will be held in Glassport in the near future.

After a couragous battle with leukemia, George Anthony Konchak, 69, of Elizabeth Township, died Tuesday May 30, 2017 in McKeesport Hospital with his family by his side. He was born July 26, 1947 in Braddock and was the son of the late George A. and Wanda Ostrowski Konchak. He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township and was a retired Financial Analysis for Westinghouse. George served in the Air Force National Guard from 1967 to 1977. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, caregiver and best friend, Mary Louise Cabon Konchak, daughter, Tina Marie (Eric) Davis of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Magdaline and Nora Davis, brother, John Konchak of North Braddock, sister, Patricia Kranack of Munhall, brother-in-law, Robert(Laura) Cabon, sister-in-law Dolores (Donald) Campbell, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael Kranack. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday June 2 at St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township. The Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiated. Betty J. Hollenbeck, 89, of West Mifflin went to be with her Lord and Saviour Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born December 6, 1927 in McKeesport to the late Herman & Naomi Fairbaugh. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, W. Kenneth Hollenbeck, and son Dr. Thomas M. Hollenbeck. She was a retired employee of Bell Telephone and Mon Yough Mental Health. Betty is survived by daughter, Sue (David) Rigau of Norfolk, VA; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Hollenbeck of Lansdale, PA; brother, Robert (Fran) Fairbaugh of Sellersville, PA; longtime friend and companion, Kenneth Holmes of Dravosburg; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was not only a member of Dravosburg United Methodist Church for over 50 years, she was a Sunday School Teacher there as well for 40 years, a lay leader and sang in the choir.
