Charlotte Waskowicz of McKeesport, passed peacefully in the arms of her daughter, Francine, on Sunday, June 5, 2016. It is with great sadness to inform her dear family and friends of her passing. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Johanna (Szymarek) Sieracki, and the beloved wife of John Waskowicz who preceded her in death. Charlotte is survived by her loving daughter and best friend, Francine Waskowicz. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Bill Sharkey, Cathy Sharkey, Dolly (Nunzio) Chelli, Floyd (Darlene) Mandella, Arlene (Walt) Miscavage, Artie (Charlotte) Hartman, Carol Patik, Judy Madoff, Bob (Patience) Waskowicz and Marian Hrycyk; and many great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Charlotte began her career as a telephone operator and later worked as a clerk in the engineering department for Bell Telephone, from where she retired after more than 40 years of dedicated service. She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary of Czestochowa (Corpus Christi Parish), where she was a Christian Mother and member of the Ladies Aid Society and Catholic Daughters. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Corpus Christi Parish at 10 a.m. Father Michael Maranowski will officiate. (Per Charlotte's request, there will be no viewing). Burial will follow at St. Mary Polish Cemetery in White Oak. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity and keep Charlotte in your thoughts and prayers. Rebecca A. (Williams) Nuss, age 69, of Irwin passed away on Monday June 6, 2016. She was born March 20 1947, in Oil City, the daughter of the late Wilbur Gerald and Margaret (Osman) Williams. She was a member of the Beulah Presbyterian Church in Churchill. She is survived by her husband of over 43 years Kent A. Nuss; children Kelly Lynn (Randy) Faulkner of Lancaster, Ohio, Brian E. Russell Raymond Booth, Sr., 97, of Elizabeth Township, died Monday, June 6, 2016. He was born May 5, 1919 in Elizabeth and was the son of the late Louis and Anne Crossland Booth. He was the husband of the late Minnie Mattie Coulson Booth who died September 21, 2010. They were married for 64 years. Russell was a member of the Greenock United Methodist Church, and the Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens. He retired from US Steel Clairton Works in 1981 and was a US Army Corps of Engineers Veteran of WWII. Russell enjoyed building both remote control and model airplanes.

Flash was an employee of Kiczan Manufacturing in North Versailles. Flash was the husband of the late Cathy "Poss" Shields. Margaret “Maggie” Hunt, 79, of Adamsburg, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016. She was born on July 27, 1936 in Wilkinsburg, the daughter of the late Roy and Helen Linhart, and was raised by her grandparents Roy and Mary Linhart. Maggie married Robert “Bob” Hunt on May 4, 1954 and they enjoyed 62 years of a beautiful marriage. She worked for the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit for more than 24 years as a teacher's aide. Maggie volunteered for the Girl Scouts as a troop leader and was the neighborhood cookie chairman for many years.

Charles W. White, age 97 of North Huntingdon, PA died on May 24, 2016. The cause of death was heart failure. Mr. White was born on August 16, 1918, in Zelienople, PA to the late Rev. Dr. Charles W. White, DD, and his wife, the late Elizabeth Ash White. (Dr. White was the superintendent of The Lutheran Home and Farm School in Zelienople). He was the youngest child and only son. His sisters were the late Lydia Catharine White (Weigel) and the late Ruth Elizabeth White (Headley). After graduation from Zelienople High School in 1935, he attended the RCA Technical Institute in New York City. After first being employed as a radio operator on private yachts based in the New York City area, he joined the U.S. Merchant Marines as a radio operator at the outbreak of World War II. After surviving a dangerous tour of duty throughout the war, first on a Liberty ship and then on an oil tanker, he returned to Pittsburgh where he was affiliated with various radio stations. He first helped to establish radio station WMCK in McKeesport, and later moved to WHOD (later re-licensed as WAMO) in Homestead. He ended his working career as a telecommunications specialist for the General Electric Corporation. He married Wilma Bowman of Mount Pleasant on December 3, 1949. He is survived by these loving nieces, nephews, and their spouses; Diane Engleka, Elizabeth H. Paul (Richard); Mary H. Sur (Donald); Thomas W. Headley (Donnis); Kenneth W. Weigel (Dianne); and Charles W. Weigel (Stephanie); loving cousins, Charles Bowman and Barbara Lesh; and many grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. The funeral service will be held on June 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Brush Creek Lutheran Church in Irwin, PA. Interment will be private. The James W. Shirley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
