Deloris J. Bales, age 95 of North Huntingdon, passed away on January 14, 2026 at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg. She was born on August 18, 1930 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Charles and Elsie McClure Derr. Deloris was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Ridge Road Women's Club, both a girl scout leader and a boy scout den leader. Deloris enjoyed knitting. she often knitted baby blankets, caps, sweaters, lap robes and afghans. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John W. Bales, and two brothers, Charles and Robert Derr and a sister Marjorie Ekin. She is survived by one son, John C. Bales (wife Karen), two daughters, Sue Ann Jacobs (husband Douglas) and Janice Durmis (husband Charles), seven grandchildren, Jessica, John, Rachel (husband Louis), Mitchell (wife Sara), Nathan, Joshua (wife Ava), Jacob (wife Morgan), and seven great-grandchildren, Ivana, Isaac, Sarah, Vincent, Madeline, Connor, and Brooks. Friends will be received at JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at which time a service will be held in the funeral home chapel. Eleanor B. Stanchik, age 94, of White Oak, died January 13, 2026, at AHN Forbes Hospital. Born August 18, 1931, in Duquesne, she was the daughter of the late George and Ella (Kushner) Balta and the wife of the late Dr. George F. Stanchik.
Eleanor began her career as a secretary at National Tube Works in McKeesport, where she supported her husband while he pursued his dental degree. Her unwavering support and kindness were hallmarks of her character, and after he graduated and established his practice, Eleanor embraced her role as a homemaker with grace and warmth, devoting herself to raising their children.
She is survived by children, Mark (Mary Ann) Stanchik and Tamara (William) Boyd; grandson, Ian Stanchik; brother, Stephen (Helen) Balta; sister-in-law, Carole Balta; best friend, Margie Martinjak, and her black cat, Petey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, George (Eleanor) Balta and Dr. Paul Balta.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Patricia A. George, 85, of Tionesta, formerly of Clairton, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was born January 20, 1940 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Enoch C. and Naomi J. (Mitchell) Johnson. She was a 1958 graduate of Clairton High School and was a retired executive secretary for James F. Kemp Inc. She enjoyed the outdoors and the animals, often feeding them and relaxing in wilderness, she was also an avid reader.

Helen Elizabeth Allen, 104, of Redstone Highlands of Greensburg, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026. Born in Versailles Township on February 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Bayne Allen and Emma C. Wunderly Allen, sister of the late Walter M. Allen, Chester T. Allen, Louise M. Allen, and Emily C. Saunders. She is survived by two nieces Rebecca Johnson (Eddie) and Pamela Saunders; great nephew Matthew Johnson (Laura); great niece Amy Wood (John) and great-great nieces Alex Johnson, Bri Johnson, and Rachel Elizabeth Wood. Also, Helen was loved and will be missed by the Nevin and Johnston Families. Helen graduated from McKeesport High School in 1938. After working at Union National Bank in McKeesport for four years, Helen was employed by, and retired from, the former Gulf Oil Corporation of Pittsburgh after 35 years of service. She was a member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church and the Morning Circle. A committal service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Park in the Office Chapel on Thursday, January 15 at 11 AM. Chris “Red” Evanov, 58, of Greenock, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026. He was born June 29, 1967 in Homestead to the late Albert A. and Violet Mae (Kubancsek) Evanov. Red devoted 35 years of his life to VISTA Metals, where he worked as a skilled machinist known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, his true passion was the open road. Alongside his kids when they were growing up, Chris spent countless weekends creating memories and chasing adventures that never stopped. Later in life, he got a Harley - and now, with his wife Amy, the weekend trips to Rocky Gap became a special spot. One trip planned for an anniversary, the next, just because - one after another, year-round. That place brought happiness to the both of them.

June Ann (Mansfield) Kalkbrenner, of Elizabeth, PA, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at age 89. We rejoice that she is now in the Heavenly Home, prepared for her by her Lord and Savior, and reunited with the great love of her life.
In her lifetime, June had many loves. She loved her husband, Donald L. Kalkbrenner, Sr., devotedly for their 43 years together on this earth and then the next 25 years while she remained without him. She loved her family fiercely. She loved Jesus reverently. She enjoyed a love/hate relationship with all Pittsburgh sports teams, but especially her Pittsburgh Pirates. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and Jeopardy! She was affectionately known as "Gug" by some of her very favorite people.

Nancy M. Angelo, 89, of Port Vue, died Jan. 12, 2026. She is beloved wife of the late Frank J. Angelo, Jr. and daughter of the late John and Susan (Satanek) Rebar. Nancy is survived by her sister June (the late Robert) Noga; niece Christine Lorincz; nephew Albert (Butch) and his wife Annie Daugherty; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother William and Kenneth Rebar and sisters Carolyn Ford and Betty Daugherty. Larry Micheal Stefan, of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 10, 2026. Born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, Larry lived a life defined by devotion to family, service to his country, and a generous, joyful spirit.
Larry was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose love for his family was unwavering. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Cheryl (Sloss) Stefan; his son, Clinton Stefan; and Angela (Monpere) Schnabel, whom he loved as his own daughter. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Jocelyn, Ryan, Jacob, Isebella, and Dean Stefan. Larry was also deeply cherished by his large extended family, all of whom will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Stefan of Duquesne, and his son, Brandon Stefan of West Mifflin, whom he held forever in his heart.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Larry served honorably with the 101st Airborne Division, the Screaming Eagles, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage, strength, and dedication to others.
Larry had a love of travel and cherished the time spent exploring new places with his wife, Cheryl. Some of his happiest moments were shared side by side with her, creating memories along the way. He especially loved the beach, and always had a pocket full of unique seashells to bring home.
Larry was an avid dog lover who delighted in spoiling his dogs, treating them as cherished members of the family. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Larry brought laughter and warmth wherever he went. His quick wit, whimsical nature and kind heart made him a joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Larry Micheal Stefan will be remembered for his love, laughter, service, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear. His legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched. He was a membr of Triumph of Holy Cross Parish, Jefferson Hills. Larry retired from Bombardier Transportation Holdings USA Inc.., West Mifflin, where he was employed as an Electro Mechanical Assembler.

Kayla Emily Castro, age 34, was taken far too soon in a tragic accident on January 10, 2026, leaving behind a love that time can never erase. She was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, on May 10, 1991, the beloved daughter of Raymond and Laurel Castro. A devoted mother, sister, granddaughter, cousin, aunt, niece, and godmother to her nephew Vinny, Kayla's life was rooted in love, family, and deep connection. Kayla was a devoted mother to her two beautiful children, Mila Rae and Brantley Vito, whom she shared with their father, Jake Lawson. They were the center of her world and the greatest expression of her love. Everything she did was for them. She was hardworking, kind, and endlessly loving. Deeply artistic, Kayla saw beauty in the world and expressed it through her creativity, carrying herself with a gentle and thoughtful spirit. She was also an amazing cook who loved sharing her creations with family and friends. Kayla shared an unbreakable bond with her sister, Kristen Wojdyla, who was also her best friend. Their relationship was filled with love, laughter, and a closeness that words cannot fully describe. She was also close to her grandmother Mabel Riley and brother-in-law, Drew Wojdyla. Family meant everything to Kayla. She was proud of her new job and the progress she made over the past year, moving forward with quiet confidence and hope for the future she was building. Kayla adored her nieces and nephews and held a special place in her heart for her newly born nephew, Vinny, whom she loved dearly. Gentle, beautiful, and compassionate, Kayla had a way of making others feel cared for simply by being herself. Though her life was far too brief, the love she gave was immeasurable. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Riley, and her uncle, Harvey Wainer. Forever missed. Forever loved. Forever remembered.
