Stephanie Hodge Classic, 58, of Dravosburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 8

th, 1960, to the late Robert Hodge and surviving Marie Valiknac Hodge. Stephanie was the loving wife of 31 years to Christopher Classic. And brother, Robert “Curt” Hodge, of Long Island, NY, grandchildren, Landon Markosky, Christopher Merlino, many nieces and nephews, and 2 granddogs, Loui and Roxi. Stephanie was preceded in death by her father, and aunt, Stephanie Cawley. She was a registered nurse, and was employed for 17 years at the UPMC Health First Medical in McKeesport. Denis Craig Sechrist, 65, of Somerset, previously of Glassport for 62 years, passed away at the U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Oakland, Pittsburgh on Thursday, September 26, 2019. He was born in McKeesport to the late Harry Craig and Lois Forbes Sechrist on August 29, 1954. Denis is survived by his brother, Bruce D. (Carol) Sechrist, of Jessup, MD, and sister, June L. (Edgar) Weakland, of Somerset, and nephew, Bruce Edward Sechrist, of Somerset, and his cat, Silver. Denis graduated from South Allegheny High School in 1972, where he was equipment manager for football. After South Allegheny, Denis went on to CCAC, earning his Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences. He was employed by Mellon Bank as a mail clerk, was an avid sports fan, most especially when it came to the Penguins. He also enjoyed keeping up with current events, television, and was known as an amateur performer at the Senior Center. Joseph John Harchar, 96, a resident of Jefferson Hills for 67 years, formerly of Glassport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. He was born in Glassport on May 4th, 1923 to the late John and Mary Jackabcin Harchar. Joseph was the loving husband of Mary Ducko Harchar for 67 years. He is also survived by his sons, Joseph Harchar, of Woodbridge, VA, John (Judie) Harchar, of The Woodlands, TX, Kenneth Harchar of Jefferson Hills, and Robert Harchar of Jefferson Hills, nephew, Sidney (JoAnne) Cicchini , of Belle Vernon, and nieces, Phyllis Usko, of Forward Township, and Claire Marie (Tony) Cicchini Monias of Belle Vernon and Diane (Ed) Hickley of Port Vue. Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Albert, and sisters, Helen, Ann, Irene, Teresa, Bertha and infant siblings, Mamie, Mamie and John. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal for his service. Joseph was a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1949. He attained membership in Tau Beta P, National Honorary Engineering Society, Chi Epsilon National Honorary Civil Engineering Society. He was a member of the Phi Kappa fraternity while attending college and is a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association. After graduating college his working career began at the American Bridge Company, and continued through several engineering firms including Koppers Corporation and ending with the U.S. Corps of Engineers for 25 years. He was a project engineer on several local flood protection projects, and project manager on multipurpose dam projects from which he retired in 1983. After retirement he was selected to join President Ronald Reagan’s Goodwill Ambassador Team to go to China and consult with the Chinese on the construction of the recently completed dam on the Yangtze River. He had to refuse this appointment due to the simultaneous illness of his wife, who underwent successful cancer surgery during the same period. Joseph was a former member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Clairton, which later became part of St. Clare Assisi. He enjoyed walking in the woods, fishing, gardening, including his “WWII Victory Garden”, was an ardent sports fan, a hobbyist mechanic and tinkerer, and enjoyed bird-watching, and was a dedicated family man. Joseph was a member of many organizations including: the Society of American Military engineers, Who’s Who in Engineering (1982), U.S. Committee on Large Dams, American Society of Civil Engineers, Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, Tou Beta Pi Engineering Honorary Society, Chi Epsilon Civil Engineers Honorary Society, former member of the Jefferson Hills Borough Planning Commission, St. Joseph’s Branch #479 of the First Catholic Slovak Union, and the National Slovak Society. Edgar William Budday Jr., age 67 of Jefferson Hills, PA, passed away peacefully on September 24th, 2019 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born in McKeesport on August 11th 1952, to the late Edgar William Budday Sr. and Betty Jean (Wilson) Budday. He is survived by his brothers, Joseph Budday, of Jefferson Hills and James R. (Anna) Budday of Wilson, N.C, and nephews, James Budday of Pittsburgh and Michael Budday, of North Carolina. Edgar was a self-employed contractor, he was also a marine that proudly served his country from 1972-1976 during Vietnam. Great-grandchildren: Julia, Ethan, Natalie, Kathryn and Joshua, and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis (Stella), Anthony (Marie), Vincent (Susie), and Nick (Marilyn), and sister Mary (Duane) Molinaro. Joe served in the Navy in the Caribbean during World War II, as a Radio Operator for the Air Control Tower. He was also previously employed at P&LE Railroad, Peoples Gas company, and owned Borrelli’s Café for 32 years in Glassport. He was a member of the Glassport American Legion, Sons of Italy (past president 3 times), and faithful member of the Queen of The Rosary Church. Harold “Archie” Lauterbach, 90, a lifetime resident of Clairton, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Ashbury Heights Nursing Home. He was born in Clairton on March 3, 1929 to the late Peter Joseph and Caroline DeBor Lauterbach. Harold was a well-known figure in the community of Clairton. As a young man he played baseball for United States Steel, Clairton Works. His participation in a “mill team” was a significant part of Pittsburgh history, as noted in an exhibit at the Heinz History Center. He went on to become Facility Manager of Calgon’s packing & shipping facility in the Robinson area of Pittsburgh, a company where he worked for 30 years. Harold drove and helped deliver Meals on Wheels for many years in the Clairton community. Harold volunteered his time at St. Clare of Assisi, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved classical music and the symphony. He is survived by his sister, Doris Mae Manns of Scottdale, nieces and nephews; Michele Bamburak, Eric Manns, Mark Manns, Amy (Joseph) Eichenlaub, Paul (Melissa) Manns, Russ (Colleen) Halt, Beth Mellott, and Carol (Alan) Schriber, Great nieces and nephews; Laura (Josh Warner Burke) Bamburak, Aaron Bamburak, Noah Manns, Savanah Manns, Chloe Eichenlaub, Logan Eichenlaub, Jeremy Halt, Caitlyn Halt, Mikayla Halt, Nathan Mellott, Lily Mellott, Ricky Mellott, Mark Schriber, Leighann Washburns, Great-great nieces and nephews; Quinn Warner Burke, Jake Washburns, and Kaylee Washburns.
