Lawrence Gray Maple, 92 of Clairton passed away Sunday, February 14th, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born in Bunola, PA on May 8th, 1928 to the late Lawrence D. and Edna Georgina McCay Maple. Lawrence Gray Maple was the loving husband of 71 years to Gloria Maple. He is survived by his children Larry (Karen) Maple of Finleyville, Ginger Begg of Saint Cloud Florida, Gail (Phillip) Marshman of Pleasant Hills, Janet (Dan) Klingensmith of Clairton, 11 grandchildren Alisha Van Bibber, John Maple, Sky Begg, Jordan Begg, Dallas Begg, Chandler Begg, Brittany Hugley, Emily Lander, Conor Marshman Joshua Klingensmith, and Kasey Wright followed by 10 great-grandchildren. Lawrence was preceded in death by his son-in-law Schylur Begg. He was a member of the U.S. Navy and he ministered at and was a member of the Clairton congregation of Jehovah’s witnesses, since 1950. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and singing with family. Lawrence loved looking at all the beauty of Gods creations, he got to know the trees, birds, and flowers. He also enjoyed discussing the bible with others and he looked forward to Gods promise of living on a paradise earth in the future. Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. Lois (Kuskie) Basch, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with her heavenly savior on February 15th, 2021. She graduated from Clairton High School in 1945. She attended Duff’s Business School and worked as a proofreader for the Daily News of McKeesport. She was married to the love of her life, Edward Basch for almost 47 years before his passing. Lois and Eddie lived and raised their family in Jefferson Hills. They were both active members of Pine Run Methodist Church in Clairton, PA where they served as lay speakers and beloved church members. Lois lived a very full life, keeping her true passions of her faith in the lord and her family and friends at the forefront. She had a gift for writing poetry, which was grounded in faith and loved to write for those dear to her heart. Card playing, games, and sports- especially fishing were lifelong pastimes. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan who loved the Pitt Panthers, Steelers, and Pirates. Lois is preceded in passing by her parents, Irene and Harry Kuskie, her sisters, Mildred Basch and Dorothy Freiwald, and her beloved husband, Edward Basch. She is survived by her three daughters Patty, Cindy, Chris, five grandchildren, as well as her three great grandchildren. Services have been entrusted to S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N 6th St., Clairton, PA 15025. Friends and family will be received at Pine Run Methodist Church on Thursday February 18th, 2021 at 9am to 11am. Service at 11am for Lois’ memorial service (masks required). A private graveside service will immediately follow at Lebanon Church Cemetery (immediate family only). Mary Helen Ducko Harchar, a resident of Jefferson Hills for 68 years, formerly of Clairton, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2021. She was born in Clairton on September 10, 1925 to the late Michael and Suzanna Ducko. Mary was the loving and devoted wife of the late Joseph J. Harchar for 67 years. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Harchar of Woodbridge, VA, John (Judie) Harchar of The Woodlands, TX, Kenneth Harchar of Jefferson Hills and Robert Harchar of Jefferson Hills. Laura Jean Thomas, 90 of Dravosburg passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at South Western Nursing Home. She was born in Dravosburg on April 15th, 1930 to the late Charles B. and Ida Grimm Thomas of Dravosburg. She is survived by children; Dan Thomas of Elizabeth, and Jacquelyn (Ralph) Farine of Lincoln Place, grandchildren; Jessica, Megan, Brandon, Lindsay, and Charles, great grandchildren; Brenden, Presten, and Jaimsen. James Richard Berwick,79 of Dravosburg, passed away on Thursday January 14th, 2021 at his home. He was born in Dravosburg on April 27th, 1941 to the late Walter and Bertha Cislo Berwick. James Berwick was the loving husband of 36 years to Irene L. Curry Berwick. He is survived by his sons Jimmer (Lisa) Berwick of Greenville, Tim (Isabel) Cotero of Buena Vista, and daughter Wendy (Scott) Wampler of Frederick Maryland, grandchildren Kirsty Lee Berwick of Greenville, Douglas Wampler of Squirrel Hill, and Ryan J. Nick Tomasello, 91 of Glassport, passed away on Thursday, January 7 th, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital. He was born on March 14, 1929, in Glassport to the late Dominic and Josephine Tornabene Tomasello. Nick was the loving husband of 41 years to the surviving Margaret Gaza Tomasello.
Nick proudly served his country with the United States Army as a Staff Sargent and Medic in the Korean War. He was a member of the Citizens Hose Company 1 Volunteer Fire Department in Glassport, where he was the oldest member after serving 72 years. Nick was also a former councilman of Glassport. He enjoyed being involved in politics, shooting pool, and playing poker. He worked as a millwright for U.S. Steel, where he retired from.
He is survived by his son, Vincent James (Donna) Tomasello, of Simpsonville South Carolina, daughters Josephine T (Aaron) Pikovsky of North Huntingdon, Theresa M. (Scott) DeCecco, of Liberty Boro, and Mary F. Tomasello, of Mooresville, North Carolina, step-children, Charles (Linda) Gaza, of Coneautville, PA, Catherine Daum, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, David Gaza, of Clairton, Carolyn Gaza, of Clairton, Claire Dehnoo, of Clairton, six grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Erma was born on May 4, 1931, in McKeesport to the late Rocco and Julie D'Angelo Sponza. She was the loving wife of the late John F. Molinari, who preceded her in death in 2001.
