Audrey W. Salvucci, age 94, of West Mifflin, passed away on June 2, 2021, at Eldercrest Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Munhall. Born on July 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William and Jane (Wohl) Weber. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Agnes Church and a member of the Homeville Senior Citizens and the former Knights of Columbus Senior Citizens.
Wife of the late Samuel D. Salvucci Jr., she is the mother of Samuel D. Joseph P. Cibula, age 101, of West Mifflin, passed away on May 25, 2021 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. Born in Duquesne on March 19, 1920, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Furbish) Cibula. He was retired from U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works-B.O.F. with 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Trinity Church and enjoyed watching all sports. He was the husband of the late Virginia C. (Campbell) Cibula; brother of Gertrude (late Harry) Krohe, late Marcella (late George) Yarosik, late Andrew Cibula Jr., late Lawrence (Late Sophie) Cibula, late Rosella (late James) Lofe and late Dolores (late Jim) Hast. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. There is no visitation. John L. Kubicko, age 91, of North Braddock, Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Mary Krivjanik Kubicko.He was born on Saturday, January 24, 1930 to the late Stephen William Kubicko and Edna Mattey Kubicko, as well as Cecelia Kranyak Kubicko.
John, also known as the Pennsylvania Outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and all things outdoors. He was also an outdoor sporting goods sales representative.
John is survived by his loving cherished daughter Donna Lee MacDonald Florida, sister-in-law Madeline (Stephen) Lesko and sister-in-law Catherine (late William) Kubicko.
His life was enriched with interactions of his loving, thoughtful and caring nieces and nephews, Cathy (Alvin) Knox, Carole Marie (Keith) Simmons, Corrinne (Michael) Dowling, Colleen (Robert) Pantalone, Stephen Kubicko and Jeffrey Lesko.

Pamela Sue (Kulus) Brown, age 55, of Braddock Hills, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on May 9, 2021, at UPMC Shadyside. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 7, 1965, she was the daughter of Constance Tassone (Dombrosky) and the late Thomas Kulus. She was a former legal secretary for a Pittsburgh law firm and a longtime waitress at Pizza Hut-Duquesne. She loved being with her family, which was everything to her, and she enjoyed going to Kennywood, lottery tickets and her cat, Pumpkin.
She was the wife of the late Paul Afanasieff. Survivors include her mother, Constance (Tassone) Dombrosky and her step-father, Gerald Dombrosky of Elizabeth Twp.; daughter, Heather Brown of North Braddock; siblings Thomas (Jacqueline) Kulus of West Mifflin, Cindy (Jim) Capell of Monroeville and Marie (Bryan) Krasneski of South Park. She was a doting and loving aunt of Tanner, Bennett and Ethan Kulus, Katie and Jimmy Capell and Ariana and Colton Krasneski; step-mother of Jesse Afanasieff and step-grandmother of Shane and Cailey Afanasieff.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Edmund S. Lewandowski, will be celebrated on May 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at Holy Name Church, Duquesne, of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, with his son, the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski, as principal celebrant.
Edmund passed away last April, during the Covid-19 pandemic, at the Locust Grove Personal Care Home. Born May 9, 1922 in Nowa-Wies-Wielka, Poland, he was the son of the late Jozef & Anastazia (Siemiankowska) Lewandowski. He was a retired letter carrier in Duquesne, a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish in Duquesne, a former insurance salesman for the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, member of the former Holy Name Society of the former St. Hedwig Church, member of the Polish War Veterans of WWII, American Legion, the Polish National Alliance, the Polish Club of Duquesne, Teutonia Mannerchor Club of Duquesne, National Association of Letter Carriers and the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Edmund enjoyed being surrounded by family especially celebrating birthdays. He enjoyed sharing travel stories with his grandkids while drinking French wine. He listened attentively while the great grandkids came to visit. He served in the Polish Army as a 2nd Lt. during WWII and was a prisoner of war for 4 years. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to the late Blanche L. (Belback) Lewandowski, who died on March 19, 2004.
He was the father of Dennis (Judy) Lewandowski of Plum Boro, Rev. Thomas J. John M. “Jay” Gorda Sr., age 67, of Duquesne, passed away on May 1, 2021 at UPMC McKeesport. Born in McKeesport on April 2, 1954, he was the son of the late John and Bertha (Wargo) Gorda. He was a former steelworker at U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works, a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church, a former commandant of the East McKeesport League-Hesse-Waldron Detachment and proudly served his country in the Marine Corps and helped with Toys 4 Tots. Raymond C. Merisko, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2021, and entered the gates of Heaven. He was born on November 4, 1931 in McKeesport, PA. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Rose (Bilski) Merisko. He loved his family; father of James (Cheryl) Merisko of Illinois, Daniel Merisko of Butler, PA and Dianne (Keith) Kuzma of Jefferson Hills, PA; grandfather to Samantha and Joshua Merisko, Dustin Martin, Kaley and Corey Kuzma; great grandfather to Sophia Gonzales.
Ray was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years as a carrier and manager,and served 11 1/2 years in the Naval Reserves. He was the first Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Holy Name Church in Duquesne, member of the Men’s Club and taught in the CCD program for 17 years. He proudly served as Grand Knight with the Duquesne-West Mifflin Knights of Columbus Council #4210, was a coach for Duquesne Little League for 12 years, enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing.

Loving husband, father, grandfather, Dr. Joseph E. Michaels, PhD, age 81, of Whitehall, formerly of Duquesne, passed away at home, on Good Friday, April 2, 2021. Born on October 13, 1939, in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Margaret T. (Curran) Michaels. Joseph attended Duquesne High School and joined the Navy after graduating. Upon discharge from the Navy, he attended Duquesne University and earned a Bachelor’s degree. He went on to the University of Pittsburgh to earn his Master’s degree and Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD). He was a teacher, dean, and principal for the Pittsburgh Public Schools, most recently Overbrook Elementary and he retired from Spring Garden Elementary. He was active in the Baldwin-Whitehall community in the Baldwin Manor Association, local speaker for the Whitehall library on historical topics, volunteered at the election polls and founded the Whitehall Aviation Modeler Associations. He authored 3 books on aviation aircraft and was an avid photographer who built model airplanes and enjoyed aviation photography.
