Ethel G. (Frye) Lewis, 100, of Irwin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Golden Heights Personal Care Center, Irwin. She was born February 4, 1917 in Irwin a daughter of the late Adam H. and Anna M. Kontur Frye and was also preceded in death by her husband Arthur W. Lewis, a son John “Jack” Lewis, and siblings Kenneth E. Frye and Hazel Breyer. Her Lord and Savior were first in her life as she was a longtime active member of First Assembly of God Church, Irwin. She would spread God’s Word everywhere she went not only with her own words but by giving anyone who would receive it a religious “tract” containing the good word. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Along with her late husband Art she owned and operated the Isaly’s Stores in Irwin and Norwin Towne Square from 1945 to 1988. She was a former member of the Norwin Art League. Surviving are her children Judith A. Schade and Patricia L Suley and her husband Emil all of North Huntingdon; her grandchildren Judith Stefl, Michelle Lewis, Melissa Rudinsky, Patricia Schade, Laddie (Amy) Schade, David (Jodie) Schade, Jonathan B. (Misty) Suley, and Mark R. (Monica) Suley; thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews.

Thomas C. Hoak, 69, of Westmoreland City, died Saturday December 30, 2017. He was born March 23, 1948 in Westmoreland City, the son of the late Thomas C. Sr. and Dorothy (Lewis) Hoak. Tom was a retired seventh grade history teacher for the Norwin School District. He was a graduate of California University and received a master’s degree from Duquesne University. He was a member of Primitive Methodist Church, Westmoreland City and a longtime member of Rescue 8, North Huntingdon. He enjoyed gardening, photography, and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ruth Ann (Spencer) Hoak; his daughter Ashley L. Hoak of Kirksville, MO; his sisters Shirley (Jerry) Dohey of Forbes Road, Doris (Jim) Scarano of Westmoreland City, and Linda (Tom) Martin of Irwin; also nieces and nephews.

Jim was a retired employee of Baldwin-Whitehall School District having started his career as a teacher then becoming the federal program administrator for the school district. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin. She was a retired sales clerk for Lazarus Department Store, Monroeville Mall. Marian enjoyed the ladies lunch group and was a big Pittsburgh sports fan especially hockey. Yvonne (Beatty) Perry, age 85, of North Versailles, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017. She was a long-time member of Linway United Presbyterian Church in North Versailles where she taught Sunday school and participated in the women’s groups. She loved doing crafts and enjoyed painting items made of wood that her late husband made. She was known by many because of her work helping voters at the polling booths in North Versailles, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Indianapolis Colts. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 49 years LeRoy C. Perry; daughter Cathy Medved; parents John Ray and Pearl (Harper) Beatty; and sisters Wanda Morris and Sharon Norris. She is survived by her daughter Dawn (Jerry) Hornyak; son-in-law Steve Medved; grandchildren Jerry (Kara) Hornyak, Joanna (Ron) Michalak, Jennifer (Kris) Kovarik, Christopher (Jessica) Medved and Rebecca (Ryan) Shearer; and great grandchildren Emma, Jacob, Bailey, Brennan, Travis, Austin, Ava, Christian, Brynn and Kailey.

Doris is a retired employee of Giant Eagle, North Huntingdon after 30 years of service, she volunteered at the Norwin Community Resource Center, and was a member at the First United Methodist Church, Irwin, where she volunteered in the foodbank program. She is survived by her daughter Judy Gunkle of North Huntingdon, and son William Fowler (Trisha) of CT; grandchildren Nicole, Megan, Britny, William, Zachary, Christian, and Elaine; her siblings David (Corrine) Geiger of West Hempfield, and Thayer (Sue) Geiger of Trafford.

He was born January 21, 1931 in Jerome, a son of the late Louis Sr. and Goldie (Todero) Borelle and was also preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Marie Borelle and siblings Evelyn Adams, Dorothy Montgomery, Lillian Walls, and Frank, William, Vincent, and Wayne Borelle. Lou was a graduate of St. Francis University and a retired production control manager for Mine Safety Appliance, Murrysville. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post 701 White Oak. He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council 4925, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fly fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife of over sixty years Geraldine M. (Baran) Borelli; his children Donna J. (John) Grubbs of Westmoreland City, Anthony L. (Debra) Borelle and David M. Borelle (Denise Logan) both of North Versailles, and Kimberly A. Gregory of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister Darla Shaffer of Dubois; also nieces and nephews.

He loved driving his Jaguar and riding his Harley Davidson. He is the beloved husband of 28 years of Tracy (Payne) Pastor; loving father of Ronald J.
