James J. “Jim” Fedorka, 68, of Glassport died August 30, 2019. He is the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Danko) Fedorko. Husband of Cindy (Laughlin) Fedorko. He is survived by his children Carrie Nesbitt of Champion PA, and Kenneth Nesbitt of Plum Boro PA; sisters Mary Margaret Mellinger of Belle Vernon, Sue Ellen Fedorka of Glassport; 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son James Nesbitt. He was a lifetime volunteer fireman in Glassport #2 Hose Co. Friends received Monday 2-4 and 6-8 Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport. A funeral blessing will he held Tuesday 11am at the funeral home. Interment following New St. Joseph Cemetery.

Edward Kuzio, 88, of Glassport died Saturday August 24, 2019. He is the son of the late Francis and Rose (Dworek) Kuzio. He was preceded in death by his wife Claire Celesky. Edward is survived by his daughter Nicole Kuzio and his sister Theresa (Tessie) Richards. He was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion, Glassport Senior Citizen’s Center, and the V.F.W. Friends received Tuesday  from 4-8 at the Wojciechowkski Funeral Home, Glassport. A blessing will be held at 7pm.

Joseph W. Hornfeck, 66,  of Port Vue, died Aug. 12, 2019.  He is the son of the late John and Dorothy Hornfeck.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann (Zavalydriga) Hornfeck; daughter Jomi (Chris) Richards; sister Louise Rarick; brothers John (Vickie) Hornfeck, Bobby (Tammy) Hornfeck, Raymond Hornfeck, David Hornfeck  and Jimmy Hornfeck; also 2 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Joe was retired from Tube City, Inc. and was a member of Port Vue United Methodist Church.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home,  Glassport Thurs. from 5 to 7.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Liguori B. "Buck" Conley, Jr., 94, of South Park, formerly of Glassport, died Aug. 7, 2019.  He is the son of the late Liguori B. and Mary Conley, Sr. and beloved husband of the late Agnes D. Conley.  He is survived  by his sons James P. Conley, John F. (Janet) Conley and Robert T. Conley; Grandchildren Jennifer Sevier, John (Susie) Conley, Jr., Sara (John) Haver, Breanne Conley and Paige (Michael) Seelhorst; as well as 6 great grandchildren: John Francis, III (Kelsey), Frankie, Johnny, Sierra, Emery and Blake.  He was preceded in death by son Daniel; siblings Helen, Betty, Mary Agnes, Francis and Catherine; and daughters-in-law Jeanne and Susan.  In his life, Liguori was a member of the Queen of the Rosary Parish, American Legion, VFW and PNA.  He was also a Small Arms Expert while proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII in the South Pacific. Family and friends received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sat. from 6-8 and Sun. from 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral mass will be held Mon. 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Parish.  Interment following New St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.

Barbara Larkins, 85, of Glassport died July 18, 2019. She is the daughter of the late Stephen and Cecilia Kwiatkowski. She is survived by sisters Dorothy Graboski, Patricia Gatto, and Irene Gusty; nieces Lynn Barnes, Laurie Graboski, and Lisa Gusty; and nephew John Gatto. She was preceded in death by brothers Stephen Kwiatowski and Robert Kwiatkowski; nephew Raymond Graboski and niece Pamela Maher. A memorial mass will be held Friday July 26, 2019 11am at Holy Spirit Church in West Mifflin. Inurnment following at Round Hill Cemetery.

Josephine J. Wichman, 97, of Glassport died July 21, 2019.  She is the daughter of the late Peter and Appolonia (Bieniek) Wiktorowski.  Beloved wife of the late Edwin Wichman. She is survived by her sons Father Ed Wichman and David Wichman.  She was preceded in death by brothers Ted, Walter, John and sisters Genevieve and Sister Celestine, SHS. Josephine was retired from Jefferson Hospital, Medical Records.  She was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish, Ladies Guild and the Rosary Society.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport Wed. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral mass will be held  Thurs. 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Parish with Father Ed Wichman officiating.  Interment following Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Sisters of the Holy Spirit or Sisters of the Divine Redeemer or St. Joseph School, Verona.

Joseph C. Zoscak, 91, of Glassport, died July 9, 2019.  He is the son of the late Joseph and Sophia (Bogush) Zoscak.  He is survived by his brother Carl (Charlotte) Zoscak; nephews Todd, Robert and Michael Zoscak; great nieces Summer Ann and Autumn Dale Zoscak; also cousins.  He was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Zoscak.  Joe was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish and served in the US Army Korean Conflict.  After his retirement, Joe spent his time at his hunting camp in the Allegheny National Forest.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Fri. 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral blessing will be held Sat. 10:00 am in the funeral home with Father Wojcicki.  Interment following St. Mary's Polish Cemetery.

 


Thomas "Tommy" Joseph Mawritz

 Thomas (Tommy) Joseph Mawritz, age 60, of Port Vue, PA formerly of Glassport, PA passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Born on September 11, 1958 in McKeesport, PA he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Campayno) Mawritz.

Tommy was a graduate of South Allegheny High School. He was a pre-press manager at Comprint Inc in Gaithersburg, MD. After spending 19 years in the Washington, DC area, Tommy returned home. Soon he became involved in coaching youth football with the South Allegheny Youth Football Association. He loved coaching and was recognized with the Pittsburgh Steelers MVP Award for his commitment to the Association and the players despite his many health issues. In addition, the Tom Mawritz Extra Effort Award was created by the Association and is given each year to the player who never quits trying. Tommy was also an avid Pitt fan and will be missed by all who knew him.

Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved brother Dr. Kenneth J Mawritz Sr. He is survived by his sister Nancy (Mawritz) George and her husband Joseph of Germantown, MD; sister-in-law Natalie (Shadwick) Mawritz of Collegeville, PA; nephews Kenneth Mawritz Jr. and his wife Mary of Havertown, PA, Jason George of Rockville, MD, Brendan George of New York City, NY, niece Holly L. Mawritz and her husband Jonathan Goodroad of Glenside PA; and his five grandnephews and niece Logan, Liam, Lucas, Levi and Madeleine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at Wojciechowski Funeral Home 640 Vermont Ave. Glassport, PA on Saturday July 20, 2019 from Noon to 1:30 pm, at which time a funeral blessing will be held. Burial will be held privately. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway 14th floor, New York, NY 10004.

Raymond D. Graboski, 59, of Austin Texas, died Thursday June 13, 2019. He is the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Kwiatkowski) Graboski. He is survived by his wife Christina Graboski; step-daughters Andrea, Alexis, and Abigail Jiminez; siblings Lynn (Robert) Barnes and Laurie (Jack) Graboski; nephews Robert (Katie) Barnes and Michael Barnes; and great-nephew Roman Barnes. Stephen V. Gribschaw

Stephen V. Gribschaw, 92, passed away May 29, 2019. He was born in Glassport, Allegheny County, PA on December 23, 1926 to the late John and Anna Novotniak Gribschaw of Glassport, PA. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Theresa Josephine Walczak Gribschaw, his brothers and sisters: Ernest Gribschaw, Albert Gribschaw, Andrew Gribschaw, John Gribschaw, Marie Danko, and Cecilia Maher, by his daughter Ann Marie Fiore Soltis, and his grandchildren, Beth Ann Gribschaw and Stephen Michael Gribschaw. Stephen is survived by his children, Stephen Gribschaw, Teresa Day, Gregory Gribschaw, Mary K. Traud, and Stanley Gribschaw, his sister and brother: Celine “Alberta” Christensen, and Raymond Gribschaw. In addition, he leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Stephen was an active member of Queen of the Rosary Catholic Church in Glassport, PA. He participated in the Holy Name Society, the Counter group and was considered one of the favorite bingo callers. He was a member of the Greek Catholic Union Lodge 500, the Knights of Columbus Post 4210, the American Legion Post 443, and the United Steelworkers Local of America Union 1407 serving as a committeeman, treasurer, trustee and recording secretary. He was also a bingo caller at the American Legion Post 443 in Glassport. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations at the US Naval Ship Repair Facility at Subic Bay in the Philippines, serving as Yeoman for the Base Commander. He was a member of the Subic Bay Association WWII Navy Veterans. Stephen loved to travel and enjoyed traveling with Theresa, visiting all fifty states in the U.S. Stephen was a hardworking man and supported his wife and children. Stephen worked at the United States Glass company and the Copperweld BiMetallics Division in Glassport until the plant shut down in 1983. Stephen was an active participant in the Ginkgo Evaluation of Memory Study (GEMS) and other studies at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a wonderful storyteller and loved to share jokes and anecdotes with everyone. He is greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Rosary Church in Glassport PA on Tuesday, June 4th at 10am. Visitation will be held at Wojciechowski’s Funeral Home in Glassport on Monday, June 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8. His final resting place will be at Corpus Christi Cemetery in Port Vue, PA. In lieu of flowers, please send Memorial Donations to Queen of the Rosary parish in Glassport, PA.

 


Jennie M. Quintana

Jennie M. Quintana, 83 of Glassport passed away May 27, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. She is the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Palmer and wife of the late Abelardo “Bill” Quintana.  She is survived by her daughter Theresa (Dan) Mawritz; grandchildren Jared Edwards, Tara Braddock, Alina Mawritz and Daniel Mawritz; great grandson Blake Edwards; brother Eugene (Leah) Palmer; sister Eileen Papson; also nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.  Jennie was a member of St. Patrick's Parish; where she served as a eucharistic minister, funeral lector, and was an active member of the cursillo and bible study group for 13 years.  Jennie spent her final years at Senior Care Plaza in McKeesport. She had a rich and fulfilling life and was very happy there. She had many friends and participated in all the activities. Friends and family will be received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Thurs. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9.  A funeral mass will be held Fri. 10:00 am at St. Patrick's Parish in McKeesport. Entombment following at New St. Joseph Cemetery.

John D’Amico, 77, of Elizabeth passed away peacefully May 1, 2019.  He is the son of the late Francesco and Assunta (Iannotta) D’Amico and beloved husband of the late Natalie (Kochuba) D’Amico.  He is survived by his sons Anthony (Lisa) D’Amico and John (Mary Beth) D’Amico; daughter Tina (Scott) Bryer; grandchildren Tully, Oakley, Reid, Max, Nico, Joseph, Jack, Sophia, Luke, Scarlet and Heinz; sisters Immaculata (the late Andreo) Renzi, Antoinette (Giuseppe) Iannotla, Pasqualina (Remiggio) Ciampi, Palmina (Nunzio) D’Agostino, Giulia “Catherine” (the late Domenic) DiStasi, Maria (the late Alberto) Chiarizio; brothers Giuseppi (Rita) D’Amico; brother in law Steve (Janet) Kochuba, the late Valerian Kochuba, and sister-in-law Kathy Oliver.  He was preceded in death by brothers Mike (the late Annie) D’Amico and Dominic (the late Betty) D’Amico.  John was a retired Quality Insurance Inspector for Bettis Atomic; was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish; K of C (where he was a past Grand Knight) and Sons of Italy (where he was a past President.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Sat. from 6-8 and Sun. from 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral mass will be held Mon. at 12:00 pm at Holy Name Church with Father Carmen D’Amico and Father Tom Lewandowski.  Interment following Round Hill Cemetery.

Blair M. Wojton, 75, of Glassport died Saturday April 20, 2019. He is the son of the late Matthew and Sophie (Ekiert) Wojton. He is survived by his siblings Carol (Richard) Dziki, Fran (Mike) Hoover, Phyllis (Bill) Beaver, Sta Wojton, Matt Wojton, and many nieces and nephews. Blair was a teacher at South Allegheny and St. Michael's, a member of the Glassport Council, Democratic Committee member, Lion's Club, and he also worked for Macy's and Puff's for many years. Friends received Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 and a celebration of Blair's life will take place Saturday starting at 10am with a Catholic service being held at 11am at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home 640 Vermont Ave, Glassport. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Blair's name.
