EDWIN LAWRENCE SERENA (also known by his childhood nickname "Wheatie"), 70, of Glassport, passed away peacefully, March 12, 2016.  He is the son of the late Edwin and Lucille (Barrett) Serena.  Beloved husband of Mary (Skrtic) Serena; father of David (Denise) Serena and Kristen (Rosario) DiPaolo; grandfather of Jonathan Checefsky, Emilie Serena and Santino DiPaolo; brother of Carol (Carl) Cupp and Ruth (William) Patterson. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

PATTON, 83, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Eastmont, died Feb. 25, 2016.  He is the son of the late William and Ruth (Warrick) Patton and husband of the late Frances (Petrosky) Patton.  He is survived by his daughter Tracey (Ray Kennell) Totedo of Elizabeth and son Robert "Randy" Patton of Churchill; Son-in-Law Frank Cardamone of Apollo; grandchildren Karie, Frankie, Peter, Dominick, Victor, Anthony, Mario,  Randy Jr., Tony, Justin, Morgan and Gabrielle; 15 great grandchildren; sister Liz Pavlik of North Hills.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Laura Lee Cardamone and brothers Billy and Tom Patton.

MARLYN L. TISON, 82 of West Mifflin, died Feb. 17, 2016.  She is the daughter of the late Wallace and Anne (Jakes) Tison.  She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Mark) Dausey of South Park; grandchildren Amy (Jim) McCloskey of Clairton and Steven Dausey of Indiana County and brother Ronald Barncord of Elrama.  Marlyn was preceded in death by her grandson Kevin Dausey and brother Dwane Barncord.

Steve Ganchuk, 88, of Glassport, died Wed. February 3, 2016. He was the son of the late Fred and Anna (Zeleznik) Ganchuk. He is survived by

his wife Florence "Flo" (Jablonski) Ganchuk,  children Steve (Judy) Ganchuk of Liberty Boro, Kathy (Bob) Miskanin of Glassport, and Tom (Christine) Ganchuk of Austin, TX; grandchildren Aaron, Bethany, Kristin, Steven, Michael, David, Jennifer, Luke, Perry, and Joseph; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother Fred (Evelyn) Ganchuk of McDonald.

Steve owned and operated his own woodshop in Glassport, was a member of the Queen of the Rosary Parish where he was an usher for 60 years, a member of American Legion in Glassport and VFW inn Clairton.

Friends received Sat. 6-8 and Sun. 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral mass will be held Mon. 10am Queen of the Rosary Parish with Rev. Miroslaus Wojcicki. Arrangements made by Wojciechowski Funeral Home.

 


ANTHONY "TONY" W. MARSICO

ANTHONY "TONY" W. MARSICO, 66 of Glassport, most recently of Lower Burrell, died Jan. 22, 2016.  He is the son of the late John and Shirley (Hughes) Marsico.  He is survived by sisters Kathleen (Henry) Buczynski of McKeesport, Sandra (Richard) Dyer of Bradenton, FL,  Luann Weisenburg of Inwood, WV and Shirley Jeanne (Gary) Beard of Bradenton, FL; brother John (Des) Marsico of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces Andrea, Sarah and Alyssa; nephews Eric, Josh, Kyle and Jacob, also aunt Theresa Marsico of Jeannette; childhood friends, Sandy Nolfi (whose husband, Rusty, died on Jan. 5) and Linda Lesnak; also numerous cousins.
 
Tony was a curator at Bayernhof Museum in O'Hara Twp.  He had a piano and tuning restoration business in Glassport and Charlotte, NC; was a Lionel train enthusiast, collecting trains since he was a small child and was an avid reader. Tony also attended Mt. Aloysius College in Cresson, Pa and was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. 
 
Friends will be received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Sat. 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral blessing will be held Sat. at 2:30 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Wojcicki.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or Cancer Care Center, 4117 Liberty Ave. Pgh 15224, attn; Rebecca Whitlinger.
