Helen T. Korenoski, 95, of Glassport, died March 9, 2025.  She is the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Dzurenda and beloved wife of 73 years to the late Willis Korenoski.  She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Ross, Debbie (Ron) DeMay, Peggy Korenoski and Patty Korenoski; son Bill (Janice) Korenoski; grandchildren Kristin (Steve), Justin (Katie), Danielle (John), Chelsea (Nick), Luke (Lexi), and Lexi (Donald); great grandchildren Elliana, Madison, Brock, Asher and future grandson Lincoln; and sister Ann (the late Donald) Hartman.   She was preceded in death by her brother Steve (Ann) Dzurenda and sister Margie (John) Knapik.  Helen was a a member of St. Joachim & Ann Parish; Sisters of the Divine Redeemer and former member of the Christian Mothers.  Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Wed. From 4-8pm.  A funeral mass will be held Thurs. 10:00 am at St. Michael’s Church.  Interment following Calvary Cemetery.

Ross H. Wilcox Jr., age 62, of Duquesne, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Jefferson Hospital. Born in McKeesport on November 10, 1962, he is the son of Susan (Simon-Wilcox) Sprowls and the late Ross Wilcox Sr. He was a handyman and a member of the former Christ the Light of the World Parish-Holy Name Church.

Besides his mother, he is survived by sisters and brother, Elaine (late Ray) Micklo of West Mifflin, Renee (Ken) Piposar of Texas, Lynette (Al) Gibson of Upper St. Clair, Holly Henkle of West Mifflin, Mary Blasko of East McKeesport and Charles Sprowls Jr. of West Mifflin; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sister Colleen (husband Bruce survives) Whitney of West Mifflin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 9-11:30 a.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR, where a Funeral Service will take place at 11:30 a.m., following visitation, with Rev. Thomas Lewandowski, officiating. Anna (Bentler) Estus, age 85, of Monessen, and formerly of Gouldsboro, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at McMurray Hills Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a retired secretary at Twin Rocks Garage in Lake Arrow and she enjoyed cooking, canning and crocheting. Born August 21, 1939 in Gouldsboro, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Jankowski) Bentler and wife of the late Wyland Estus. She is survived by a daughter, Anita (Harry) Nagy of Monessen; son, Roger Capoccia of Dushore; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Alfred Bentler, Jr. of Gouldsboro; also, nieces and nephews. William E. "Bill" Schock

William E. "Bill" Schock, 80, of White Oak passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on July 8, 1944 to the late William J. and Julia (Carvell) Schock. Bill was the owner of Schock Reporting Service as a court reporter since the early 1970s until his retirement in 2014. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed his trips to the casino and the beach. However, his favorite thing to do was entertaining family and friends, and spending much needed quality time with his husband, Rick. He is survived by his wonderful husband, Richard P. "Rick" Tomko of White Oak; nieces, Lisa Evans-Riggle, Mary Lou (Brett) Berish, and Julie (William) Zeli; mother-in-law, Mary Louise Tomko; sister-in-law, Andrea (Fred) Muroski; as well as 7 great-nieces; 3 great-nephews; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. Robert L. Carnahan, 91, of White Oak, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 10, 1933 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Robert L. and Elizabeth (Baker) Carnahan. He was the husband of the late Nancy (Giles) Carnahan who passed away March 19,1988. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, McKeesport, White Oak American Legion and was a former Aid for the McKeesport Drill Team. Robert was retired from the McKeesport School District and had previously worked for the former Potter-McCune Company in Christy Park. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. For his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was an avid Bingo Player. He is survived by his daughters, Lynne (John ) Straub and Susan L. Salley, grandchildren, Melissa Straub, Shaun (Kelci) Salley, Michael Straub, and Sara Salley sister-in-law, Carol Cunningham and a niece, Nancy (John) Hartman. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Lee Carnahan, and brother, Philip Carnahan. Dustin J. Dukic

Dustin J. Dukic, of North Versailles, was reunited with his late mother, Darlene (Matlak) Dukic, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the age of 32. Dustin is survived by his father, Daryl Dukic, brother, Derek (Jessica) Dukic. He was the adoring uncle of Dylan, Damian, and Baylen. He is also survived by his aunts, Bev (late Butch) Pici and Darlene (Jr.) Will, uncle, Danny (Patti) (late Christy) Dukic, cousins, Heather Dukic (Jeremy), Cole Pici, and Natalie Pici, second cousins, Abby, Addison, and Zayne, and many friends.

Dustin was a Graduate of East Allegheny School District and worked for Henkel Construction. He was a hard worker who enjoyed fixing things. He was proud of his Ukrainian heritage. Above all, Dustin loved his family, especially his nephews, and cat, Tiger. He was also an avid Pitt fan.

Eileen M. (Sprute) Flodine, age 96, of North Versailles passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025. She was born February 3, 1929 in North Braddock, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Vrabel) Sprute. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed gardening and crocheting sweaters for everyone in the family.

She is survived by her children Keith Flodine of North Versailles, Kim (Former husband Stephen) Chupinka of North Strabane and Kurt (Lisa) Flodine of North Versailles; grandchildren Brett (Audrianna) Chupinka, Tyler (Stephanie) Chupinka, Colin (Lexie) Chupinka, Shane Flodine, Tanner Flodine and Cameron Flodine; and great grandchildren Brody, Luciana, Cooper, Brielle, Theo, Jett and Isla.

Barbara A. Ruhe, age 83 of North Huntingdon, passed away on March 6, 2025 at Magee Women's Hospital. She was born on November 17, 1941 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late Louis and Anna Rinkes. Barbara was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon and the Ladies Auxiliary of Larimer Volunteer Fire Department. She was employed as a school bus aide for First Student. Barbara enjoyed celebrating holidays with her family and she loved to watch her grandchildren grow. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Ruhe in 2021, two brothers Lawrence Rinkes and Richard Rinkes (Laurie), and two sisters, Joan Rinkes and Marilyn Rinkes. She is survived by two sons, David and Doug (Shannon) Ruhe, two daughters, Dawna DeLaney (Brian) and Deann Czopek (Mark), one sister Kathryn Howell (Ron), one sister-in-law Aurelia Rinkes, and four grandchildren Tyler, Taylin, Ryan, and Gavin. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Judith A. “Judy” McKee, 85, of New Eagle, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Judy was born October 15, 1939 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John Daniel and Betty Jean (Hardisty) Barkemeyer. She was married to her high school sweetheart Joseph W. “Joe” McKee for 22 years, who passed away February 13, 1980. Judy loved to love on people! She quilted many beautiful quilts. Her hands were barely still. She was an avid collector of Precious Moments and anything mouse related. As her husband lovingly nicknamed her “Mouse”. Judy was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She worked at Central Medical Hospital in the gift shop until it closed. Everyone there and at the Civic Arena that knew her loved her! She loved watching the Penguins play and win during the 1990s. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”

Reynolds, age 77 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 in UPMC East.  Born March 2, 1948 in Elrama, he was a son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Humer) Reynolds.  A retired and proud 30+ year member of the Ironworkers Local #3, James also worked for 20+ years at US Steel Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock.  He is survived by his wife Debra (Bodnar) Reynolds; his children Joel Reynolds of Rostraver Twp. and Jamie Reynolds of Greenock; his grandchildren Payton Reynolds, Taylor Cindrich, and Jesse Reynolds; his brother William Reynolds of Elrama; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, James L. Elizabeth “Betty” Lang Cummings

Elizabeth “Betty” Lang Cummings, a lifelong resident of East McKeesport, passed away March 3, 2025, at the age of 100 1⁄2.

Born June 6, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie Lang. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William (wife Ellen), Catherine and James and grandson Nathan Schafer.

She was the last surviving member of her and her husband’s immediate family.

Betty was the beloved wife of 55 years to James “Frank” Cummings who died June 11, 2002. Together they raised 5 daughters, JoAnn Martin of East McKeesport, Margaret “Peg” Schafer (Bill) of Acme, PA, M. Sadie Wallace (Bob) of Garland, TX, Joyce Krasinski (Mark) of Somerset, PA and Christine Kieffer (Ricky) of Baldwin, PA.

She was blessed with 13 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend Mary Englert.

Faith, Family and Friends were the cornerstone of Betty’s Life. She was deeply involved in her parish, St. Robert Bellarmine (now Mary Mother of God) She was one of the founding members of the Christian Mothers group and held many Leadership positions. She loved singing in the choir and making home visits as a Lady of Charity.

Betty volunteered at the school cafeteria for many years and finally became one of the official Lunch Ladies. She loved interacting daily with the students and was known to sneak extra homemade rolls and desserts to her favorites. She remained very active in her community by volunteering at Meals on Wheels later in life.

She was the adoring grandmother of Rina Katchur, Austin Katchur, and Miranda Katchur (Will). Joan was preceded in passing by her husband, F. Paul Lection, parents, Charles and Genevive (Fox) Chizmar, and her sister, Barb Chizmar.

Joan enjoyed decorating especially for all the seasons and holidays. She loved flowers, building puzzles, and sitting on her back porch. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and entertaining her girlfriends.

Gilbert Smith, 81, of Liberty Boro, Pennsylvania, departed this life on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025. He was born on April 24th, 1943, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

He was the beloved son of the late Albert and Mammie Hamilton Smith. Gilbert was educated and graduated from the Clairton Public School System.

He enlisted in the United States Army, served in Vietnam, and received an honorable discharge. Gilbert was employed at the Veterans Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a Transporter, driving veterans to appointments.

Gilbert enjoyed playing pool at Jim’s Pub with his pool buddies.
