William Harold Kocis, age 73, of White Oak, PA and Port Vue, PA died on Friday, November 3, 2023. He was born in New York, NY on July 17, 1950 and was the son of the late Helen Kocis and the husband of the late Helen Louise Bucek Kocis, who passed on April 14, 2020. William proudly served in the United States Army as military police. Upon discharge, he was employed by US Steel National Tube Works and later moved to Pooler, Georgia with his wife and family to serve as an educator for the remainder of his career. You could always find William surrounded by his pets, a loving Siamese cat and loyal miniature poodle, and listening to music. William had a passion for 60's and 70's rock with a special interest in the British invasion. He was known by his family for remembering birthdays and making each card personal.

David Paul Detwiler, 73, of West Mifflin passed away at his home Tuesday October 31, 2023. Born February 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Paul W. Detwiler and the late Norma Ruth (Lewis) Tennant and cared for by his stepfather Ervin Tennant. David was a 1969 graduate of West Mifflin North High School. He was a long-time member of the Reliance Hose company #2 firehall in Glassport and the Thompson Run Club in West Mifflin. He was a loving and dedicated father to his two daughters. He was their softball coach, cheer dad, and travel partner.

Dorothy A. Conaboy crossed the Rainbow Bridge on November 3, 2023. Waiting on the other side was her husband and soul mate, the late Thomas M. Conaboy.
Dorothy lived a full and fulfilling life. Before becoming a resident of Asbury Heights in Mt. Lebanon, she lived in Liberty Borough and was a past member of St. Mark Parish and choir. She retired from South Allegheny School District Food Service after 25 years of employment and was a graduate of Allegheny County Community College. Dorothy loved to travel. Her favorite trip was to Rome with her family to see the beginning of Christianity. She enjoyed all the navy reunions with Tom. An avid reader, no book was ever left unread, and the Sunday newspaper was never missed. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren and granddogs.

Barbara was a 1970 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and was also a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Masters Degree in Education where she was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a Special Education Teacher at the Apollo Ridge High School and was previously a Library Assistant at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for 10 years. Barbara was a kind, caring and loving person with a great sense of humor. She loved crafting, reading books, tending to her flower garden and attending rock concerts with her brother Gary.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling for many leagues, traveling, and watching sports in his retirement. Born December 19, 1928, in Elizabeth Twp., he was a son of the late Rev. Joseph and Bertha (Kadar) Chomas. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis J. William John "Big Billy" Byers, 89, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 13, 1934 in Clairton and was the son of the late William James and Isabele (Bach) Byers. Billy was a US Navy Veteran who served during The Korean War, for his service he was awarded the National Defense Medal, The China Service Medal, United Nations Medal and The Korean Service Medal. Upon completion of his Naval service, he would go on to work for 32 years as a truck driver for Fox's Grocery. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, especially cucumbers, tomatoes, corn, green beans, beets and garlic. He loved camping at his camp in Vacationland in Meadville, PA where he would also go fishing and also enjoyed cruising to Ireland and Alaska. Big Billy was also a member of club VFW. He was a man of many friends and would help anyone in need, anyway he could. Most importantly, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Daniel Patrick Davis, 67, of Greensburg, died peacefully at Forbes Hospital on October 30, 2023. He was born in Greensburg on November 25, 1955 to Julie and Clayton Davis, the sixth of ten children. Dan attended Latrobe High School before studying Engineering at University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. He briefly lived in Wyoming, working on oil rigs, and California, before returning to Pennsylvania in 1977. He was a gifted musician and enjoyed playing and listening to music at Speal’s Tavern. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Michael, and his daughter, Mikaela.
