Mary "Madelyn" M. Ryan, 72, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021.  Madelyn was born November 7, 1949 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late James Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Lynch) Fiore.  She was the wife of 52 years to the late Edward P. Ryan, who passed away August 8, 2021, for whom she was an excellent caretaker. She attended both St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Township and Community United Methodist Church in Harrison City. She worked as a hairdresser for over 50 years.  Madelyn lived her entire life for her family and  loved being with her late husband, her children, and her grandchildren. When she wasn't caring for her family, she enjoyed bowling, card games, watching game shows and doing puzzles.  She will be greatly missed.

Geraldine Trump, age 85, of McKeesport, died December 26, 2021, at home. Born May 29, 1936, in Connellsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Sanner) Smith and the wife of the late Dallas F. Trump.

Geraldine retired from McKeesport Area School District as a Teacher's Aide. She also worked in home health care throughout her life. Geraldine enjoyed gardening, cooking, and caring for all the children in her life.

She is survived by her son, Dallas S. Trump of McKeesport; daughter, Beverly Hott of WV, granddaughter, Jamie (Joseph) Forbes of McKeesport; grandsons, Carl Hott, Shawn Trump, Christopher Trump, many great-grandchildren, special great-granddaughter; Autumn Forbes, great-great-grandchildren; and nephew, Wayne Smith.

Walter L. Gibson, age 82, of McKeesport, died December 23, 2021, at home.  Born January 20, 1939, in Tuskegee, AL, he was the son of the late McDaniel Gibson, Fletcher Fisher, and Mary Francis (Jenkins) Fisher and husband of Anna (Dorsey) Gibson for 56 years. 

Walter worked for U.S. Steel in Duquesne and then went to work for the Arlington Public Schools in Virginia.  He enjoyed watching western movies, NBA games, and watching shows about nature on the Discovery Channel.  He was a member of the Booker T. Washington Lodge and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Anna Woods, 92, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.  She was born October 7, 1929 in North Braddock, a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Brandle) Lutz.  Prior to her retirement, Anna was the owner/operator of George Woods Garage. 

She was a devoted wife, and the best Mom and Grandmother anyone could dream of having.  Ann loved life and everyone that came into her life unconditionally.  She loved and took care of her family by any means possible.  She had an infectious smile and a feisty personality. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Woods; sons-in-law, Eugene Moose and Jack Muzzie; brothers, Joseph, Herman and Paul Lutz; sisters, Elsie Rance and Mary Zortich.  She is survived by her son, George B. (Leda) Woods; daughters, Linda A. Moose, Deborah M. Muzzie, Heidi L. (Rod) Truitt; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

Barry Fredric Barnett

Barry Fredric Barnett, 85, of White Oak, left this world peacefully at home on Sunday, December 26, 2021.
Born on May 22, 1936 in Duquesne, PA, Barry was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Fedor) Barnyak. He shared 53 years of marriage with the rock and love of his life, Flo (Kolton), and was the beloved father of children Joy (Tim) Desmond, Barry (Kelly) Barnett, and Kristy (Todd) Alexander.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a former engineer with Westinghouse Nuclear Division in Monroeville, a founding and active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish and a volunteer at Redstone Highlands Senior Living in North Huntingdon. He was an avid Jeopardy! fan, loved crossword and number puzzles, Pittsburgh's pro and college sports teams, working out and traveling; most of all, he loved spending time with his family and furry friends, Shadow and Raven.
In addition to his wife and children, his memory will be cherished by grandchildren Brady, Brenna, Kaden, Tyler, Liam, Beckham and Gabe; brothers Robert (Marion) Barnett, William (Irene) Barnett and Earl Barnyak; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Eleanor Shaw.
Barry was an example of what we should all strive to be--a kind, loyal and loving human being.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on February 4, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 200 Leger Road, N. Huntingdon, PA. Frank Steven Magdic, age 68 of Pittsburgh, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital.  Born March 4, 1953 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Emil S. and Margaret A. (Osika) Magdic. Frank worked as a laborer in pipe manufacturing. He was an accomplished guitarist and played in the bands "Lucy Blue" and "Sudden Grace".  He is survived by his sister Diane (Carl) Licht of Monongahela; brother Jeffrey Magdic of Liberty Boro; children Alissa, Allison, Aaron and Adam (Melissa) Magdic; and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements for Frank are private at the request of his family and in the charge of the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles.

She was born October 31, 1953 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Ralph Leroy Curry Jr. and Charlotte Jean (Lehmer) Curry Hawkey and was also preceded in death by her step father Bud Hawkey. She loved spending time with her husband at Cooper’s Lake Campground in Slippery Rock and enjoyed boating and fishing. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Jeffrey A. Kemerer; her sisters Darla (Tom) Magill of Penn, Carol (Randy) Hawkey of New Alexandria, and Dyana (James) Vance of Somerset; also nieces and nephews and her pet cat Ginger.

Gloria M. Jefferson, 88, of McKeesport, was born August 19, 1933, on Long Island, NY, and departed this life on December 20, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital in McKeesport, PA.

Gloria graduated from high school in 1952 where she lettered in softball and was a member of the school library and volleyball clubs.  She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at McKeesport Hospital for over twenty-five years.  She was honored as an exemplary employee upon her retirement in 1996.

In 1963 while visiting relatives in McKeesport, PA she met her husband of 31 years, John H. (Johnny) Jefferson.  From this union, they produced one (1) son, Dayne, and added two (2) precious sons to her life, John Darryl & Derrick.  These three boys were the loves of her life, and she gave everything she had to ensure that they were raised right.  Gloria and Johnny remained married until his death in 1995.

George A. Caliguri Jr., 71, of Glassport died Wednesday December 22, 2021. He is the son of the late George and Lula (Farren) Caliguri. James M. “Gibby” Gibbons, age 65, of Ross Twp., formerly of Duquesne, passed away on December 23, 2021. Born in McKeesport on July 18, 1956, he was the son of the late William and Patricia (Cloonan) Gibbons. He was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania-Department of Welfare, where he determined eligibility. He also worked for Mon-Yough Community Services, where he was a drug and alcohol counselor. He was a former member of Holy Name Church-Duquesne, loved all Pittsburgh sports, classic cars, car shows & cruises, and sports memorabilia. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He is the brother of Jo (Jack) Znavor of North Huntingdon, Mary (Jim) Bick of West Newton, Maggie (late “Cookie”) Chiponis of West Mifflin, Colleen (Tom) Washko of North Huntingdon, late Patricia (late William “Bill” Lutz) Gibbons, who died Nov. 7, 2021, and late William Gibbons. He is also survived by nieces and nephews who he enjoyed terrorizing.
