John “Jack” Patrick Foster, age 75, of Versailles, died on Thursday, October 27, 2022. He was born in Pittsburgh on April 4, 1947 and is the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Wissman Foster. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After the war, he was employed as a delivery end operator at Steel Dynamics Metal Tech. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance Lodge #352, a member of their golf league, as well as a member of the Port Vue golf league.

Jean B. (Brooks) Grimes, Servant of the Most High, God, age 89 of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Baldwin Health Center. Jean enjoyed playing the piano at Braznell Christian Missionary Alliance Church where her late husband was the Pastor. A former employee for US Steel Clairton Works, Jean also worked as a library aid at the Wilson Christian Academy. Born in Elizabeth Township on March 9, 1933, she was a daughter of the late James Alvin Brooks and the late Caroline May (Paquet) Brooks and was wife of the late Pastor George W. Grimes, who passed away on August 21, 2007. She is survived by two daughters, Darla Bridges of Knoxville, TN and Dana (JP) Herold of Liberty Boro.; two sons, Del (Helen) Grimes and David Grimes, both of Elizabeth Township; 7 grandchildren, Alexis, Caroline, John Jr., Joshua, Jenna, Jordan, and Patience; two great-granddaughters, Kaelynn and Charlotte; brother, Richard Brooks of Avalon; sister, Elizabeth “Dib” Williams of Clovis, New Mexico; also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son in-law, Dr. Raymond “Barry” Bridges. No viewing or visitation is scheduled. Friends and family are invited to attend a committal service on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 2 PM in the chapel of Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Mary Ellen Le, 80, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 at home. She was born December 21, 1941 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late Milan and Frances (Palovich) Zarak. Prior to her retirement in 1999, Mary Ellen was a Business and English teacher for Penn Trafford High School for 30 years and the middle school for eight years. John Edward Pancurak, Jr., age 97, of Port Vue, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. He was born in Port Vue on August 1, 1925 and is the son of the late John Edward, Sr. and Mary Suhy Pancurak and the husband of the late Margaret Loretta Pancurak, who died on May 26, 2014. John proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. After his service, he was employed as a quality auditor for General Motors Fisher Auto Body in West Mifflin. Renee graduated from Wilmerding Westinghouse Memorial High School Class of 1964. She received her Bachelor degree in nursing from the University of Delaware. Renee was a Vietnam Veteran having served as a registered nurse for the Navy Nurse Corps where she retired as a commander. She enjoyed sailing and kayaking. John L. Gilliland, 84, of Arona, formerly of Panther Hollow, Oakland passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at home. He was born December 5, 1937 in Oakland, Pa. Prior to his retirement, John was a brakeman for Union Railroad and a veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of Bill & Rae’s Pool League in Herminie and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Adalgisa Pillera, age 93, of McKeesport, died October 23, 2022, at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. Born August 5, 1929, in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Giuseppina (Ricciotti) Alfonsi and the wife of the late Giuseppe Pillera. Adalgisa retired from Feig's Bakery, where she worked as a baker and decorator. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church, and was also a Christian Mother. Adalgisa spent time outside tending to her garden and always enjoyed a good espresso with dessert. She was the oldest of seven siblings and always looked out for her younger brothers and sisters. When she was fourteen, she moved to Rome on her own to work as a maid and send the money she made back to the family.
