James “Jim” Jackson, of Liberty Borough, died on February 25, 2021, from complications from dementia. He’s survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Louise Jackson, and his brother Albert Jackson (Carol). He will live on in the lives of his three children: Susan Jackson Dunsey (Darren); Brent Jackson (Aimee); and Kathryn Haskin (Matt); and the grandchildren he adored: Ethan Dunsey, Gabriella Jackson, Aidan Dunsey, Emma Jackson, and Adeline Haskin. He’s also remembered with love and great affection by his brothers-and-sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. In death, he is reunited with loved ones, most especially his parents, Albert Jackson and Anna Jackson Gibson, and his sisters, Lois Jean Wunderley, Mary Ann Bowman, and Linda Trunzo.

Hazel B. Proctor, 92, of Irwin, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Transitions Healthcare, North Huntingdon. She was born November 15, 1928 in Herminie, a daughter of the late Russell and Mary (Rosenstill) Mellinger. Hazel was a member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving mother who took care of her family and home and loved to watch football. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Proctor; brothers, Art and Howard Mellinger; sisters, Naomi Clutter, Ethel Kaufman and Darlene Kunkle. William was a retired truck driver for Matlack Inc. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson. William loved animals and volunteered at a wildlife refuge in Florida, where he worked with exotic animals.

Harry (Cokie) Couchenour, 90, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Harry was born December 5, 1930 in Youngwood, PA, son of the late Harry and Ethel Couchenour. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn Moore Couchenour in 2016 and a sister, Janet Leighty. He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Keegan and husband Pat of Unity Township, and Lauren Condon of Latrobe; a grandson, Ian Condon (Esther), of Charleston SC; Ian's father Harry Condon, and a sister, Linda Price (Dennis).
Harry had a 40+ year career working for Westinghouse, retiring from the Waltz Mill Site. During his retirement years, he immensely enjoyed traveling in his motorhome with his wife, Marilyn. He was a longtime member of Circleville United Methodist Church. A quiet man, Harry was born to be a servant to all. He loved to work, could fix anything, loved helping others with projects and would always be there for you. Even into his 80's, once he cleared his own walkways and driveway of snow, he would do a couple neighbors' driveways, as well. He enjoyed being outside and caring for all the rhododendron and shrubs that his wife lovingly planted all around their beautiful property. Most of all, he loved his little family, and his daughters were always his pride and joy, of which he proudly told everyone.

Marilyn Ruth Mular, age 89, of White Oak, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. She was born in McKeesport, PA on August 17, 1931 and is the daughter of the late John and Mary Hayduk Rice and the wife of the late Joseph Mular. Marilyn was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and was a retired elementary education teacher from the McKeesport Area School District. She was a substitute teacher for the McKeesport schools after her retirement as well as a volunteer at St. Angela Merici School. Marilyn was a part time math teacher for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and a former volunteer cub scout leader. She was a current member of St. Angela Merici Church where she was active through the years and a volunteer for the McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center. In her earlier years she was very much interested in the stock market and enjoyed watching it daily.

Richard D. Jenkins, age 67 of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Jefferson Hospital. Born July 5, 1953 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late George Walter Jenkins and Mary E. (Neal) Jenkins Chamets. A former truck driver for many area companies, Richard was a member of the Sons of Columbus, Santa Maria Council #3 of Clairton and Club 46 of Wilson.
A funny man with a great sense of humor, he loved to make people laugh and smile. He was a huge Steelers fan and, in his spare time, loved to fish, tend to his vegetable garden, and enjoy a cold beer. He will be missed by his friends and family. Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife Angela (Angotti) Jenkins, who passed away August 21, 2020, and his siblings Frances Horgos, Margaret Medved, and James and Scott Jenkins. He is survived by his children Richard Jenkins of Clairton and Gina (Jason) Collins of Whitehall; his grandchildren Dejah, Nikko, and Gisele Jenkins; his sisters Nancy Mazzola of Clairton, Judy Wesolowski of Glassport, and Lisa Jenkins of Sutersville; and also nieces and nephews.

Betty Novakovich, 82, died Sunday, February 21, 2021. Born to Teodor and Danica Novakovic on December 31, 1938 in Wall, Pennsylvania, the family had six children: Dan, John “Lefty”, Charlie, Mitzi, Betty & Martha. All of the children were members of the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church at one time in their life. Betty remained a faithful lifelong member of the church — singing in the church choir for years and professing her faith each and every Sunday.
Betty attended Westinghouse Memorial High School and graduated in 1956. She was a proud and loyal employee of US Steel for decades until she retired in 2009. Because she enjoyed keeping busy, after retirement she worked at several part time administrative jobs until only a few years ago.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards with friends as well as going to local bingos and casinos. Friends considered her “lucky” - but the lucky ones were her loved ones! Somehow, Betty managed to remain close to each and every one of them individually. It was rare for her to miss a birthday or special occasion.

Robert “Bob” William Jones, age 69, passed away on Sunday February 21, 2021. He was born May 28, 1951 in Clairton, a son of the late Marion “Sam” and Lenora Jones. Bob retired from the Murrysville Police Department in 2012, having worked there since 1987 and attaining the rank of Sergeant in 1994. He was an active member of the Allegheny Valley Lodge 39 FOP, where he previously served as financial secretary and currently was a trustee. Throughout his life Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing and biking and most recently “Ghost Hunting” at Gettysburg. He also enjoyed time with his rescue dogs Max and Abby. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Karen McKee Jones; children Robert Jones of North Huntingdon and Sara Jones of Elizabeth Twp. and Michelle (Mitch) Dexter of North Strabane Twp.; and grandchildren Brayden, Peyton and Maddy.
