Daisy attended and graduated from Duquesne High School in 1941.  She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church for many years.  While there, she joined and volunteered in several organizations and functions.  Daisy entered the workforce at an early age with a strong work ethic.  She worked at Kennywood Park, performed domestic work for a Jewish family, that has embraced her as a member until this day.  She was also a hairdresser and even was a “Rosie the Riveter” welder on transport ships in Ambridge, Beaver County, PA during WW II.  In her twenties, she found the job she was born to do – a charge nurse at Canterbury Place Personal Care Home.  She later received her LPN nursing license.  She had high standards for herself and her goal was to treat every patient the way that she would want her Mother treated.  After retiring she continued to work for them part-time.

Daisy was married to Wade Jones for 46 years of whom she shared a strong bond.  They loved to entertain, travel and created many fond memories together. Daisy was well known and a beloved fixture in her Riverview Homes neighborhood of West Mifflin.  She could be found outside tending her plants and flowers in her yard.

Daisy leaves to cherish her memory her brother-in-law, Clifton Davis of Neptune, NJ, godson, Lynn (Madeline) Harris of West Mifflin, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors. Daisy was one of a kind and will never be gone from the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her boldness, outspokenness, fearlessness, strong will and generous spirit.
