Arthur Henry Hartman, Jr., 94, of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024. He was born November 29, 1929 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Dr. Arthur H. and Henrietta (Michael) Hartman. He was the husband of the late Norma Jean (Berg) Hartman who passed away June 26, 2002. Arthur was a retired Tool & Die Maker at the former General Motors Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of White Oak American Legion.

TSgt. (Ret.) Larry A. Stearns, age 76 of Vanderbilt and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown. Born October 2, 1947 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late George Brown and Margaret Stearns. A career soldier in the US Air Force serving twenty years. Larry also worked for General Motors and with the security department at Jefferson Hospital. He was a member of the Clairton VFW, the AARP, and enjoyed bingo, travelling, bowling with his league. His family will remember him as a proud Veteran and a patriotic American. Larry is survived by his daughters Angie (Tony) Kennon of Export and Gena (Brian) White of Vanderbilt; his grandchildren (whom he adored and who lovingly referred to him as "Pap Pap") Henry, Maggie, and Vivian Kennon and Nolan, Allen, and Oliver White; his cousins Eugene and George Paxon and Billy and Tommy Payne; and also many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Jennie Miller and Maryjane Smith and his cousin Dot Paxon.

Frank W. Eichelberger, age 86, of North Huntingdon went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 18, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 9, 1938 in Larimer PA, son of the late William and Marie Kramer Eichelberger. Frank graduated in the Class of 1956 from North Huntingdon High School where he was Vice President and awarded most valuable football player in 1955, chosen by coaches and players. He was the founder of Eichelberger & Sons Heating and Air Conditioning in North Huntingdon and was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church. Frank was the youngest of 10 children. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his great-grandson Judah, brothers, William, Charles, Elmer, David, Walter, Jack, and sisters Betty McCormick and Ruth Matovich. Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years and high School sweetheart Janice Flude Eichelberger, two sons, Stephen Eichelberger (Laureen) and Paul Eichelberger (Dawn), 14 grandchildren Kara (Derrick), Ellen (Jonathan), Amy (Nathan), Emma (Luis), Stephen Jr. (Kennedy), Ruby, Zebulun (Emilie), Lydia, Malachi, Nathanael, Eliab, Isaiah, Abigail, and Rebekah, nine great-grandchildren Braelynn, Alethea, Leander, Leah, Layla, Esther, Mathias, Leon, Zoe, sister Nellie Hoskins (Laymon), brother-in-law Richard Flude and many nieces and nephews. Richard Lee Morrison, 87, of North Huntingdon, passed away on July 1, 2024. He was born June 25, 1937 in Elrama, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Keleman) Morrison and was also preceded in death by his son Richard D. Morrison, and sister in-law Janus Morrison. He was a proud Navy veteran, and prior to retirement worked at Volkswagen Westmoreland Assembly and Motor Coils Manufacturing, Braddock. Rich was hardworking man who worked overtime whenever he could, and never missed his son’s sporting events. He always kept up with the landscaping around his home and he enjoyed working on his car. He loved football and also was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Rich is survived by his wife Constance (Kasperzak) Morrison; son Scott Morrison; grandson Brayden S. Morrison; brother Ronald Morrison.; niece and nephew Tonya Morrison and Eric Morrison. Interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Wednesday July 17, at 1:30 pm. Lysle Richard Sayles, 75, affectionately known as “Cleanie” of Duquesne, was born March 9, 1949, in McKeesport, PA. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph Bernard and Frances Louise Garland Sayles.
Lysle attended and graduated from McKeesport High School. His last place of employment was at UPMC Mercy Hospital in the Housekeeping Department.
He enjoyed roller skating, he was the founder of the “Just Us Drill Team” out of McKeesport, PA. Lysle was a member of Zion Baptist Church in McKeesport, PA
Lysle departed this life on July 10, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family at his home in Duquesne, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bernard Sayles, mother, Frances Louise Garland Sayles, sisters, Barbara Gilbert and Mary Gilbert, brother, Bernard Sayles, Sister-in-law, LaRue George.
Lysle is survived by his loving spouse of 38 years Terrie George Sayles; two sons, Lysle Richard Sayles, Jr., and Elrich Sayles; stepson, Brandon (Katie) George; four grandchildren, Ericka Jesse, Treena L. Sayles, Brandon Lee George. Jr. and Kyla B. George, two great-grandchildren, Dylan Peters and Karlee Peters, brother, Robert Earl (Paula) Gilbert of Upper State New York; mother-in-law, Georgia Marie George, father-in-law, Calvin (Barbara) George, Sr., brother-in-law, Calvin George, Jr. nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Maxine Helen Miller, age 88, of Port Vue, PA, died on Monday, July 15, 2024. She was born in Turtle Creek, PA on September 18, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Max and Elizabeth Hodgson Brickley. Maxine was a 1953 graduate of Turtle Creek High School. She was employed at Westinghouse, then EMT Service, and later as an office manager for a podiatry office. She was a member of the former Glassport Assembly of God (now River City Church AG) for over 35 years. Maxine’s interests included playing piano in her band, “Just Us”, at retirement homes, in her church, as well as participating in Vacation Bible School and Missionettes. She enjoyed archery, bowling, was an extremely talented seamstress, and made the most beautiful crafts. She also enjoyed writing children’s books.
