God called an angel home. Irene Genevieve Balint, age 91, of McKeesport, died July 10, 2017, after a brief yet fierce, battle with cancer. Born in McKeesport, November 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve Mika Maykut and the wife of the late Stephen J. Balint. Irene was retired from the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked as a clerk. In her earlier years, she worked at Menzie Dairy.

Walter Edward “Lurge” Zamko, 91, of Jefferson Hills, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2017.  He was born May 18, 1926, in Duquesne, to the late Michael and Tillie Kaniecki Zamko.  Walter was a loving husband of 51 years to the late Gertrude “Do Do” Janci Zamko who passed away in 2003.  He is survived by daughters, Pam Zamko Kaska of West Newton, Joy Zamko (Howard) Galliford of Millerville, MD; grandchildren, Drew & Amber Kaska, and Lindzey, Amanda & Patrick Galliford; great-grandchild,  Viera Joy Galliford.  Along with his parents and wife, Walter was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Zamko; sisters, Julia Kish, Mary Zamko, Frances Zamko; and brother, Anthony Zamko.  He served in the US Army in WWII in Germany, worked as a Millwright for US Steel Irvin Works in West Mifflin for over 40 years, enjoyed traveling, being a handyman, boating and spending time with his grandchildren.  Family and friends will be received from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 432 N 6th Street, Clairton,  PA   15025.  A mass will take place at St. Clare of Assisi Church, 460 Reed Street, Clairton,  PA   15025 on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 10:00 am, presided by Charles Baptiste, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue. Arnold "Spider" Rondinelli

Arnold Armond “Spider” Rondinelli, 82, a well-known jazz musician from Clairton, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 10, 2017.  He was born February 5, 1935 in Clairton to the late Anthony and Angeline Macioce Rondinelli.  Along with his loving wife of 41 years, Georgina, he is survived by son, Michael (Paula) Rondinelli of Louisville, KY; grandsons Jared and Avery; brother, Naz (Elsie) Rondinelli of San Diego, CA.  Along with his parents, Spider was preceded in death by sister Marlene Decima.  After graduating from high school in 1953, he worked his first job as a musician at the Point Vue Hotel in Brentwood. In 1960, Spider was drafted and spent two years in the service with the 113th Army Band, based at Fort Knox, Ky.  After his discharge in 1962, he returned to Pittsburgh but was itching to hit the road and went to Chicago.  Spider returned to Pittsburgh for a bit and moved on to St. Thomas for more than 4 years but, as usual, returned to Pittsburgh to do what he loved. "Jazz is going to save the world," he said. "Jazz music has given me security. I have done nothing else in my life. My father wanted me to be a tap dancer, but I preferred to play the music that made me want to dance."  Family and friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at S. M. Edward J. "Poco" Malack, 55, of Irwin, formerly of McKeesport, died Saturday July 8, 2017. He was born March 4, 1962 in Braddock and was the son of Patricia A. Kain Malack of White Oak,  and the late Edward R. Malack who died January 26, 2015. Poco worked for Walmart in North Versailles and had previously worked for the Marriott Corporation in Maryland and Tramps in Pittsburgh. He was a 1980 graduate of Serra Catholic High School and attended Mount Union College where he played football. He was also a graduate of Community College of Allegheny County. Poco was an avid runner and participated in many Triathlons. He enjoyed family, friends, music and playing pool.

Riley Jones.  Martha was the loving wife of the late James Ralph Baker who passed away in 2014.  She is survived by son, James R. (Robin Soriano) Baker of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Christopher Helman) Spencer of Springfield, OH, Joshua (Alli) Baker of Huber Heights, OH, Jessica (Joseph) Katchur of Liberty Boro, Houston Baker of Glassport; great-grandchildren, Nickole, Brandon, & Cody Burkey, Luke Spencer, Joshua Baker, Mika & Adriana Katchur, Ronan Baker; sister Sandra (Edward) Tarle of San Juan Capistrano, CA; brother Jack (Tina) Jones of Dravosburg. Dennis M. O’Brien, 84, of North Versailles, died at home Saturday July 8, 2017. He was born August 14, 1932 in North Braddock, a son of the late Michael E. and Elizabeth M. (Yussen) O’Brien. Dennis served in the U.S. Army, then did his apprenticeship at Westinghouse Electric and retired as vice president of manufacturing and engineering, tool and die maker, with Precise Metals & Plastics, North Versailles. He also owned and operated Mold Polishing Inc. for ten years. Dennis enjoyed coaching when his children played sports and also enjoyed stained glass, gardening, and landscaping. He was an avid golfer and a member of S & A golf league. He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Sue Ann (Gobbel) O’Brien; his children Patrick D. O’Brien of Delaware, OH, Timothy S. (Patti A.) O’Brien of Peachtree City, GA, and Kelly S. O’Brien of North Versailles; his grandchildren Shawn P. Michael P. (Tia), Casey J. ,Shane P., and Elizabeth A. O’Brien; sisters Patricia E.
