Ruth Whiteman, age 70, of White Oak, died on December 24, 2017. She was born October 27, 1947 in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Stanwiki) Balawajder. Ruth was employed as a secretary for the U.S. government at the Pentagon for over 30 years.
William John “Maddog” Mantz III, 70, of Clairton, formerly of Elrama, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. He was born May 17, 1947 in Pittsburgh to the late William J. Jr. and Thelma Jester Mantz. William is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sally Clark Mantz; son, Michael Mantz of Finleyville; adopted son, Jesse Ingram of Clairton; daughters, Amy Mantz of Clairton, Jillian (Anthony Vivirto) Mantz of Perryopolis, Melissa Cherok of Donora; grandchildren, Nico, Bella, Trevor, Shaunie, Emily, Natalia, Hunter, Abagael; brothers-in-law, Ronald Clark and Rodney McGlumphy; nephews, Thomas Turnell, William Payne; niece, Melody Whitehouse. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ruthie Jones. William served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972, was the proud owner of a ’79 Harley Super Glide and ’79 Corvette. Betty Jane Dinning, age 91 of Wilkinsburg, formerly of Braddock, died Friday, December 22, 2017. She was born in Somerset on August 26, 1926 and is the daughter of the late Connell and Mary Elizabeth Love Dinning. She is also preceded in death by her brother, John Love Dinning. She worked as an executive secretary at Westinghouse for nearly 50 years when she retired.
Marsha R. Dubos, 80, of Elizabeth Township, died unexpectedly Monday, December 25, 2017 in Jefferson Hospital. She was born August 16, 1937 in West Brownsville and was the daughter of the late Vendel and Mary (Kassia) Reder. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's in Elizabeth Township. She is survived by her husband, Chester S. David Charles Taylor, 69, of Rostraver, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at home. He was born June 3, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Thomas L. and Agnes Blank Taylor. David had worked for the US Postal Service and was a member of the Rostraver Sportsman's Club and the NRA. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. For his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with 1 star and device, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm and the Purple Heart Medal. Doris F. (Geiger) Ireland, 73, of Westmoreland City, died Wednesday December 20, 2017. She was born August 15, 1944 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Clyde and Florence (Burk) Geiger and was also preceded in death by her son in law Matthew Gunkle; siblings Florence Loutsenhizer and Russel Geiger. Doris is a retired employee of Giant Eagle, North Huntingdon after 30 years of service, she volunteered at the Norwin Community Resource Center, and was a member at the First United Methodist Church, Irwin, where she volunteered in the foodbank program. She is survived by her daughter Judy Gunkle of North Huntingdon, and son William Fowler (Trisha) of CT; grandchildren Nicole, Megan, Britny, William, Zachary, Christian, and Elaine; her siblings David (Corrine) Geiger of West Hempfield, and Thayer (Sue) Geiger of Trafford.
Elizabeth A. Evans, 73, of ElizabethTwp., passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Born September 29, 1944 in McKeesport Hospital. She was the daughter of the late James and Esther Allen. Liz is survived by her husband of 55 years Larry Evans Sr.; children Lora Walz of McKeesport, Larry (Deborah) Evans Jr. of Elizabeth Twp., Timothy Evans of Elizabeth, and Christopher (Dana) Evans of Elizabeth Twp; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Esther Deisroth of Clairton and Cathy Evans of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tracey Evans; brothers Fred Allen and Eugene Allen; sisters Marion Mitchell, Nancy Kypreos, and Dolores Satterfield; step-mother Ruth Allen. Liz was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clairton. Friends will be received Friday at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport from 2-4 and 6-8 at which time a service will be held with Rev. Harold Dangel. Liz lived for her family, she opened her heart and her home to everyone she met and always made them feel welcomed. She will be greatly missed by all.

Margery Lou Burns, 83, of Elizabeth Township, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at home. She was born June 21, 1934 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late William A. and Jean C. Vernon Hacker. She was the wife of the late Richard "Dick" Thomas Burns, Jr., who died May 21, 2014. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Greg) Barton of North Huntingdon and Marcy Perkins of Forward Township, sister, Dianne (Hartley) King of Mount Vernon, grandchildren, Jamie (David) Diehl, Dana Barton, Amy (fiancée, Adam Gronau) Perkins, and Melissa and Ryan Perkins, great-grandchildren, Timothy and Jason Diehl and Makayla and Aiden Perkins, nieces and nephews.
Louis “Chum” Borelle Jr., 86, of North Versailles died Sunday December 24, 2017. He was born January 21, 1931 in Jerome, a son of the late Louis Sr. and Goldie (Todero) Borelle and was also preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Marie Borelle and siblings Evelyn Adams, Dorothy Montgomery, Lillian Walls, and Frank, William, Vincent, and Wayne Borelle. Lou was a graduate of St. Francis University and a retired production control manager for Mine Safety Appliance, Murrysville. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post 701 White Oak. He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council 4925, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fly fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife of over sixty years Geraldine M. (Baran) Borelli; his children Donna J. (John) Grubbs of Westmoreland City, Anthony L. (Debra) Borelle and David M. Borelle (Denise Logan) both of North Versailles, and Kimberly A. Gregory of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister Darla Shaffer of Dubois; also nieces and nephews.
