A Navy veteran serving during the Korean War, he was a retired industrial fireman and plant protection specialist for U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was a lifetime member and former chief of the West Elizabeth Volunteer Fire Company and a former police officer and mayor of West Elizabeth. A former member of St. Isaac Jogues Church, he was a former security guard and weigh master with Dillner Transfer, a ham radio operator (KA3JKK), a captain with the Civil Air Patrol, and a former member of the Clairton Anglers Club.

(Behanna) Semian; son, Joseph T. (Colleen Waldron) Semian of Monongahela; sisters, Mary Jo Yunkun of Gastonville, Joyce Keeney of Iowa, and Susan Oles of Scottsdale, AZ; and brother, Tom (Linda) Semian of Avalon; also, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star, Amaranth, Fireman’s and Engineer’s Lady Auxiliary, Dames of Malta, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 47 years Lawrence Geyer; brother Jack Marsula; and sister Bernice Katherine Lasher. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Susan) Geyer Jr. of Chalfant; and granddaughter Elizabeth Geyer.
