She was born April 24, 1934 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Reby Paul. Shirley was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church and the Christian Mothers there. She loved Needlepoint, Crocheting and Craft Shows. She also loved to travel and vacation at the beach. She worked for the former Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph A. DiFalco, sons, Joseph P. DiFalco of Monroeville and Robert (Claire) DiFalco of Murrysville. She was the loving grandmother of Erin, Domenick and Anthony. She is also survived by her cousins, Audrey Smyrnes, Ronald Cooper and Diane Smith.

James Marvin Gurall, 62, of Portersville, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.  He was born in McKeesport, PA to Nancy (Dolan) and Andrew Gurall. He graduated from McKeesport High School where he played trumpet in the band and excelled in anything he put his mind to.  He was born an artist and passed the time in his younger days drawing and continued on to Theil College, University of West Virginia, and the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. James was a passionate and extremely kind and generous man who enjoyed Classic cars and collecting vintage automotive parts. He enjoyed his walks at Moraine State Park and fishing with his nephews.  He loved animals, music, cooking, Nascar, golf and football. He worked at US Steel National Tube Works and then moved on to carpentry where he was recently retired from the Carpenters Union local 230.  Jim was extremely loving and proud of his daughter, Melissa Thornton of Monongahela, PA.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Susan Gurall; his daughter Melissa (Joe) Thornton; his step daughters Amberlyn Steighner and Holly Zillionis; his brother Kim (Donna) Gurall of McKeesport, PA, his grandchildren, Madison, Abby, Max, Benjamin, Dejamoura, Serenity, Rachel, and Aaron; his sister in law Jean Vincent Ricker and nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Mike) Quallich, Angela (Jason) Collins, Lance (Crystal) Gurall, Eve McClure, Kristopher Ricker, Erik Ricker as well as many great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends.

Sally retired as a teacher’s aide for Westmoreland Intermediate Unit after thirty years’ service, a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Irwin, and enjoyed her time with the G.E. girls. She is survived by her daughter Joy L. Caskey and her husband Tom of Monroeville; her grandchildren Ashley and Joel Caskey; her brother Thomas Harper and his wife Chris of Export; also a niece Michelle (Michael) Brix, two nephews Michael and Caleb Harper, and great nephews Kindred and Elias.

John “Big John” Donald Yonek, 90, of Clairton, formerly of Glassport, passed away at home on Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born November 18, 1927, in Elizabeth, to the late John Yonek.  He is survived by his partner of 33 years, Elizabeth Mollica Sacco; daughter, Linda Yonek of Gainesville, GA; sons, George (Catherine) Vincent Yonek of Penn Township, Scott Allen Yonek of McDonough, GA; brother, Fritz Yonek of Vancouver, WA; sister, Evelyn Gooch of Glassport; and 5 grandchildren.  John was preceded in death by son, John Yonek and sisters Julie and Marylyn. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII,  was employed as an Iron Worker for US Steel, and enjoyed building model airplanes.  Family and friends will be received Monday, December 18, 2017 from 2 – 6 at E. C. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 235 Monongahela Avenue,  Glassport,  PA  15045. A service will take place at the funeral home, immediately following visitation. Jane M. Brennan, 82, of White Oak, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 after a brief stay in the hospital. She was born on February 24, 1935 in McKeesport to the late Paul F. Brennan and Maxine M. Brennan (Griffiths). Jane devoted her life to the field of Nursing for 40 years prior to her retirement. After graduating from McKeesport High School, she earned post-secondary degrees from the Presbyterian School of Nursing, University of Pittsburgh and the University of North Carolina. During her professional career, she served as Executive Director for various home health nursing agencies and held an executive position at the National League of Nursing. Committed to the field of public health, she taught at Duquesne University and the University of Tennessee and she testified before the Congress of the United States, advocating for proper funding for public health. “Janie” enjoyed reading, travel, and many happy times with her loving family and dear friends. She is survived by her sister Patricia Brinkos and her brother-in-law Bruce Brinkos of White Oak, PA; nephew, Myles Brinkos (Michelle) of White Oak, PA; nephew Michael Brinkos (George Hernley), of Oakland Park, FL; niece, Amy Brinkos (Dr. Andrew Nowalk) of O’Hara Township, PA. and great niece and nephews, Joshua, Megan, Max, James, and Peter.

With love and sadness, the family of Kyp L. Anderson announces his passing at the age of 71 on December 10, 2017. After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Kyp “Kiki”, passed away in Monroeville, surrounded by loved ones.  Born on New Year’s Eve, 1945, in McKeesport, Kyp was the son of the late William Ewald Anderson and Molly Kaminsky Anderson. Kyp was a graduate of Grove City College where he was politically engaged.  For 18 years, he worked as a dispatch analyst for Exxon and in subsequent years, Kyp worked for United HealthCare in claims. After retiring, Kyp was able to devote time to his passion for social equality and human rights through various advocacy organizations.  He enjoyed traveling; his beloved dog Chrissy; watching golf, the Patriots, and reality TV; and being a proud grandfather. Kyp is survived by daughter Kristin Byzek and her husband Eric; daughter Amy Bair and her husband Jeffrey; grandchildren Molly, Jacob, and Lucy; partner Michael Sprowls; sister Leslie Anderson Boynton and her husband Richard Wieczorek, niece Lisa Gottler and her husband David, niece Jennifer Phillips and her husband Jason, great-nephew Alex, and great-nieces Kaci, Emily, and Alyssa.
