Robert (Bob) Lester Farneth, 90, of North Huntingdon, PA, formerly of Plum Borough, died of heart failure on March 13, 2016 at UPMC East Medical Center. Robert was born in Plum Borough on August 11, 1925 to Ralph and Florence McIntyre Farneth, the 5th of 8 children. After graduating from New Kensington High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943-46 and served in the 22nd Marine Regiment in the South Pacific. He worked at PPG Industries and Koppers Company, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He married Phyllis Evelyn Lucas in 1949 and together they had four children. They lived for more than 50 years on Logan's Ferry Hill, Plum Borough, on land that had been in the Farneth family for generations.

Mary Jane (McGill) Kuklish, 90, of Hudson, FL, formerly of North Huntingdon passed away on Monday, March 14 in St. Petersburg, FL. Born November 25,1925 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Olivia McGill. Mary Jane enjoyed a long teaching career in the Norwin School District. She was a devout Catholic and spent much of her free time reading, swimming, sewing, and working crossword puzzles.

Alberta E. Stratton, 78, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at her home. She was born March 14, 1938 in Wilkinsburg, PA, daughter of the late Clifford and Dorothy Bain Common. Prior to her retirement, Alberta was a driver for Laidlaw, Norwin School District. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church, Irwin, VFW Post 781 Ladies Auxiliary and was co-owner of Stratton Saddle Shop.

Lillian V. (Anderson) Rain, age 91, of North Irwin, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She was born January 7, 1925 in North Irwin, a daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Magnason) Anderson. She was a member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene in Circleville for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 49 years Russell Rain; daughter Judith A. Luffy; granddaughter Misty L. Gasparovic; brothers Herbert, Lawrence, Roy, Russell and Arnold Anderson; and sister Mildred Sherbondy.

Jacklyn A. Greenland, 88, of McKeesport, died Monday, March 14, 2016. She was born August 8, 1927 in Hazelton and was the daughter of the late Royce D. and Mary Leasie Abbott. She was the wife of the late William H. Greenland who died February 14, 2006. After 40 years of service she retired as the business office manager of the former McKeesport Daily News. Jacklyn was a graduate of McKeesport High School class of 1945.

Martha was a member of the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star Chapter 316. She was a graduate of Temple University and was a retired Dental Hygienist for the Allegheny County Health Department.

Anna V. Vavrek, age 98, of McKeesport, died March 11, 2016, at John J. Kane Regional Center. Born April 12, 1917, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Banick) Vavrek.
Anna was retired from McKeesport Hospital, where she worked in the house keeping department. She was a member of the St. Mark Parish and in her early years she enjoyed sewing, running and the outdoors.

John F. Klingensmith, Jr., age 83 of Greenock, passed away at home on Sunday, March 13, 2016.  Born July 16, 1932 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late John F. Klingensmith, Sr., and Elsie "Daisy" (Thomas) Klingensmith.  The owner of Klingensmith Insurance Company (founded in 1965) and the John Klingensmith Real Estate Agency, both of Versailles, John was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in White Oak and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his son, Domenic John (Tina) Betters and granddaughter, Elizabeth Josephine Betters of Pittsburgh, daughter, Terra Marie (Scott) Huxtable of Norfolk, VA, sisters, Jane (Wendell) DePoppe of Imperial and Barbara (John) Knezovich of McKeesport, brother, Michael (Deborah) Betters of Lincoln, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Betters.
