Born April 7, 1926 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Adele (Tomkowitz) Novak and loving wife of the late Edward F. Stawicki. Dolores was a longtime parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, formerly St. Mary Czestochowa Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen L. (David) Kovacs of Sewickley; granddaughter, Rebecca Ann (Jarrett) Criss; sister, Loretta Tatarzyn of North Huntingdon; niece and three nephews; and sister-in-law, Florence Menes. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 2-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church. Father Steven Palsa will officiate. Entombment will be private at New St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr Volosky was a retired employee of the former Homestead Works, U.S. Steel Corp. and a U.S. Army veteran. He was the husband of the late Alice Volosky. He is survived by two sons, James Volosky of Swissvale and Timothy Volosky of Brownsville; two daughters, Vicky Pikka of Lansing, Michigan and Judith Green of Port Vue; and seven grandchildren. Ralph R. Alster, 72, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.  Ralph was the son of the late Wilbert and Grace Alster.  He earned a degree in architecture from Carnegie Tech.  He truly enjoyed his professional career.  He designed St. Brendan Episcopal Church in Franklin Park and Carnegie Presbyterian Church in Carnegie.  He renovated numerous other structures in Western Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Many people appreciated his design of the trolley stop at Station Square.  He is survived by cousins, Edwin, Jr., Ronald, Robert, and Carole Lynne Alster and Margaret Horn.  A memorial service will be held in Carnegie Presbyterian Church on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM.  Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 is in charge of the arrangements.

Florence L. “Lola” Helfer, 93, formerly of Slickville, died Sunday, August 28, 2016, at home.  Born November 14, 1922, she was daughter of the late Benedetto and Louise Balzano Fenili and wife of the late Edward Helfer.  Mrs. Helfer was a member of St. Sylvester Church, Slickville Civic Center, and E.M. Kralick Post #18 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  She is survived by daughters, Maxine (Richard) Balest of Norfolk, MA, Louise (Bill) Hunter of McKeesport, with whom she resided, and Kristin (John) Koester of Reston, VA; 7 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Helfer was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel Fenili and Louis Albert “Bates” Fenili and sisters, Minnie Markitell, Lena Lester, Rose Havaran, and Ida Bair.  Friends will be received Friday from 7-9 pm at Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Salvatore R. Lamendola at 10 am on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at St. Sylvester Church in Slickville.  Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Chapel Mausoleum in Delmont.
