Randy D. Weston, 59, of Irwin, died Monday August 22, 2016. He was born June 4, 1957 in Greensburg, a son of Nancy (Elliott) Vaglia of Trafford and the late Thomas Weston also step son of Philip Vaglia. Randy was a former EMT for Mutual Aid, Greensburg. In addition to his mother and stepfather he is survived by his children Amber (Larry) Williamson of Richland, N.C., Kailin (Jeremy) Owens of Greensburg and Randy D. Weston II of Richland, N.C. 8 grandchildren; sisters Terri Campbell, Wendy Snyder, and Michelle Weston; brothers Thomas (Billie Jo) Weston, Paul (Darlene) Weston and David (Kim) Weston; his sister in law Helen O’Dell; also aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Thomas L. Strawins, Jr., 77, of East McKeesport, died Wednesday August 24, 2016. He was born August 19, 1939 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Thomas L. Sr. and Lillian (Ford) Strawins. He was a an Air Force veteran, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in business administration, a retired employee of Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding with 35 years of service and had also worked at Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, East McKeesport and First Student Bus Lines, Wall. He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport where he served as an usher, a member of parish council, and various other committees, and was a former democratic chairperson in East McKeesport borough.

Rev. Stephen M. Chervenak, S.T.L., D.Min., age 82, of White Oak, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Vincentian Home in Pittsburgh.  He was born in Homestead on July 30, 1934 and is the son the late Stephen and Mary Yuhas Chervenak.

He attended St. Ann/Fifth Ward Elementary School in Homestead and Homestead High School. He received his Doctor of Ministry from St. Mary Seminary in Baltimore, MD, his Bachelor of Arts from St. Vincent College in Labrobe in 1956 and Licentiate in Sacred Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary University in Baltimore, MD in 1960. He was ordained on March 25, 1960 by Bishop John Wright at St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh and was incardinated into the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

He was assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Pius X Church in Pittsburgh from 1960 until 1965; St. Agatha Church in Bridgeville, as Parochial Vicar from 1965 until 1969; the Headmaster of St. Thomas High School from 1969 until 1972; He had a dual Administrator position at St. Januarius Church in Plum and at St. Anthony School in Oakmont from 1972 until 1975. He then served as Pastor of St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak from 1975 until 2009. Father Steve took a mini sabbatical at North American College in Europe in 2003 and returned as Administrator of St. Angela Merici Church until October 1, 2013 when he officially retired. 

He served as the Dean of the Mon Yough Deanery from 1991 until 1998 and then again from 2000 until 2009.  He also served as Confessor of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer from 1986 until 2013 and again from 2014 until 2016.  Since 2014 until the present he served as the Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his siblings; Sr. Helen Chervenak of the Motherhouse Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in North Hills, Christine (the late William) Burdick of Stow, Ohio, Margaret (the late Donald) Vojtusak of Stow, Ohio and Dr. John (Judy) Chervenak of Paradise Valley, Arizona and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers in law; Mary and Albert Miller and Ann and William.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from Noon until 4:00 p.m.  Friends will also be received Thursday evening at St. Angela Merici Church from 6:00 p.m until Vesper Services which will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Church with burial following at Calvary Cemetery, Pgh.  Remembrances may be made to St. Angela Merici Church, 1640 Fawcett Avenue, White Oak, 15131 or Vincentian Home, 111 Perrymont Road, Pgh., PA  15237. William T. “Bill” Dupier, age 78 of Port Vue, passed on August 20, 2016 at AHN Jefferson Hospital.  Born February 12, 1938 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William and Helen (Staniek) Dupier and husband of Margaret (Cusick) Dupier for 51 years.  Bill was a great husband, father, and grandfather, who provided for his family after working for nearly 4 decades with U.S. Steel.  He had a love and appreciation for sports and enjoyed to challenge himself with difficult crossword and jigsaw puzzles. In addition to his wife, his is survived by daughters, Ann (Fran McDonald) Minicucci, of White Oak, Renee (Denny) Lawver, of Lancaster, PA,  and Paula (Keith) Gillen, of Greenfield; grandchildren, Kristen, Tommy, Michael, Kathleen, Matthew, and Sydney; sister, Barbara Cessna, of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, Walter Dupier, of York, PA and Robert Dupier, of North Huntingdon.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 4-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, 10a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish.  Rev. Earl C. Shepherd Jr., age 46, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 18, 2016. He was born December 13, 1969 in McKeesport, the son of Patricia (Thomas) Novak and the late Earl C. Shepherd. He served in the Marines and went on to be a Police Officer in North Versailles, Glassport and the City of Pittsburgh. He also served as a Pittsburgh Firefighter, and worked several years as a Sports Performance Coach. Earl competed internationally on the U.S. Bobsled Team from 1996-2001.

Ann was a retired personal caregiver. She was a member of the former St. Pius Church and First Christian Churches in McKeesport. A caring, loving and generous sister and aunt, she especially enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends.
