David W. Schmidtetter, age 73 of McKeesport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.  Born March 31, 1947 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Thomas and Grace (Thompson) Schmidtetter.  A retired shipper and receiver for Hipwell Manufacturing on the North Side, David was an active member of the First Evangelical Free Church of McKeesport.  He will be remembered as a good man who loved his family and helped his neighbor.  David is survived by his wife Carol Ann (Zurenski) Schmidtetter; his son Todd (Michelle) Schmidtetter of Melbourne, FL; his grandchildren Coen and Luke; his sister Kathryn (the late Harry) Pickerine of Bridgeville; his step-sons Carmen Demeri of McKeesport and John Demeri of Apollo; his step-grandchildren Andrew, Daisy, Christopher, Rebekah, and Olive; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Elizabeth and Thomas Schmidtetter.

Linda G. (Goodrich) Kavka, age 75, of Forward Twp., passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at home. She was a retired insurance agent for Insurance Consultants of Pittsburgh in Mt. Lebanon. Born March 25, 1945 in Moultrie, GA, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Margaret (Colson) Goodrich. She is survived by her son, Duane A. (Tammy) Kavka Jr. of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Kylie Jo and Kenna Elizabeth Kavka; sisters, Barbara (the late John) Relja of Elizabeth Twp., Joan (Bruce) Jordan of North Huntingdon and Sherri (Bill) Jenkins of Forward Twp.; sister-in-law, Netta Goodrich of Forward Twp.; also, nieces and nephews. Alfred F. Werner Jr., age 95, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 at home. A graduate of Elizabeth High School, he was an Army Air Corps veteran with the 8th Air Force 96th Bombing Group in the European Theater during World War II. He retired after 43 years in the heating department at U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was a charter member of the Elizabeth Twp. Historical Society and Central Food Pantry of Elizabeth Twp., and a volunteer with the Elizabeth Twp. Meals on Wheels. He was a life member of Blaine Hill VFW and American Legion. He was a committee member for the National Bicentennial in Elizabeth Twp., a former member of the Mon Yough Wood Carvers, and attended Round Hill Presbyterian Church.

Joseph S. Mincone, age 75, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Mon Valley Care Center. He retired as a millwright for U.S. Steel in Washington. He loved riding motorcycles, building and flying model airplanes, and enjoyed shooting and was a marksman. He loved his family and worked diligently to provide for them. Born June 21, 1944 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Domenic and Christine (Monaco) Mincone and husband of the late Marlene A. Mincone. He is survived by daughter, Jolene (Ryan) Sypolt of Charleroi; son, Joseph C. (Casey) Mincone of Belle Vernon; grandchildren, Emily and Ella Sypolt and Samantha Mincone; sister, Sabina Kessler of Pleasant Hills; brother, Angelo "Che Che" (Marian) Mincone of Elizabeth; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sister, Christine Shuck, and brothers, Frank and Licio Mincone. A Blessing will take place on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 2 PM in Paul E. Robert "Bob" Bartolomeo

Robert ‘Bob’ Bartolomeo, age 65, of Clairton passed away after a battle with cancer on Sunday, June 7th, 2020, with his loved ones at his side. Born September 26th, 1954 in Clairton, Bob was a wonderful soul and had a huge heart toward others. He was passionate about broadcasting, sports… especially Penn State football, loved local history, and was an advocate for animal rescue. His brothers, family, and friends will miss him very much. Bob attended Penn State University and was the varsity football Equipment Manager for Joe Paterno. He was also a member of the 1979 Sugar Bowl Champions. In his 40-year career, he worked in Washington, D.C. as managing director of affiliate relations for United Stations. Additionally, he was on-air for WMZQ, and most recently on KQV. During his radio career, Bob also worked for Unistar, Westwood One, Premiere, TRN, CNN, FNN, and CNBC. He worked closely with top talent including Dick Clark, Don Imus, Jim Rome, Mancow, and Pittsburgh’s Chuck Brinkman. Robert joins both his parents who predeceased him, George L. Bartolomeo, and Carmela (Virgona) Bartolomeo-Pholar.  He is survived by his brothers George Bartolomeo of Blue Springs, Mo., Joseph Bartolomeo of Dublin, Ohio, and John Bartolomeo of New York, N.Y.; as well as his nieces, nephews and grandnieces.

Carpico, age 37 of Jefferson Hills, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020.  Born June 1, 1983 in Pittsburgh, he is the son of Domenic and Barbara (Wilson) Carpico, with whom he resided.  A 2001 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Community College of Allegheny County, Pietro was an X-Ray Technician with Concerta Health at U.S. Steel. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in West Mifflin. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Maria (Robb) Koschik and Nina (Jim) Carney, both of Mt. Lebanon; his nieces and nephews Domenica, Amelia, Cecelia, Teddy, Francesca, and Mario; his aunts Lois Liptak of South Carolina, Gert Rush of Gibsonia, and Concetta Carpico of Sora, Italy; his special cousins Regis (Barbara) Fiore of Clairton and Leonard (Joy) Fiore of Foley, MN; and many cousins.

Jensen, age 80 of McKeesport, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in UPMC East.  Born June 3, 1940 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Mildred (Herron) Brady.  A member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Patricia worked for Equibank, later National City Bank, in both McKeesport and the North Side of Pittsburgh.  She is survived by her husband Robert A. Jensen; her children David (Nikki) Jensen of Melbourne, FL, Pamela Scheib of Verona, Sue E. (Anthony) Brajdic of North Versailles, and Mary Lynn (Raymond) Baez of Rockledge, FL; her thirteen grandchildren: Michael, Derek, and Natalie Scheib, Nicole and Anthony Brajdic, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Caden, and Brady Jensen, and Rachel, Andrew, Thomas, and Jessica Baez; her two great-grandchildren Kylee Scheib and Cameron Hunter; her sister Cathy (Henry) Brethold of South Park; her brother Thomas (Janet) Brady of Boston, PA; and many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Rita Brieck and Barbara Dranko.

She was a member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church where she was very active and involved for many years, and was a member of the Elizabeth Women's Club. Born October 11, 1929 in East Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late George and Clara (Gwennup) Jenkins and wife of the late Carl Fekula. She is survived by sons, Donald H. (Connie) Weis of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeffrey G. (Julie) Weis of Corpus Christi, TX, Robert A. (Kathy) Weis of Forward Twp., and Carl P. Cochenour, age 89 of North Huntingdon and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in The Grove at Irwin.  Born August 21, 1930 in Clairton, she was a daughter and one of fourteen children of the late William and Bella (Gasser) Felicetty.  A former staffer with Drs. Herzog and Gioia, Alice was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton and the Clairton Football Mothers.  She was also a Democratic Party committeewoman in Clairton and a former member of the Ladies Guild of St. Clare Church.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Cochenour, Sr.; who passed away September 22, 1996, her children Thomas E. Cochenour, Jr. and Kathy Eastman; grandchildren Stephanie and Benjamin Szilvasi; great-granddaughter Kelliann Geyser; and eleven of her fourteen siblings.  Alice is survived by her daughter Nancy Szilvasi of Beckley, WV; her son Charles Cochenour of Jefferson Hills, twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sisters Carol (Ed) Thornton of Elizabeth and Mary Helen (Frank) Truszkowski of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.

Pavlack, Sr., age 73 of Jefferson Hills, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.  Born October 24, 1946 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Helen (Sharpeta) Pavlack.  A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, Louis was a very hard working man who retired as a maintenance technician after fifty years at US Steel Clairton Works.  He was also a member of the CFU Lodge #248 of Clairton and, in his spare time, loved to square dance and vacation to his lake house in Deep Creek.  Louis is survived by his children Julie Hitchens of Ambridge, Louis P. (Lisa) Pavlack, Jr. of Jefferson Hills, and Brian (Danielle) Pavlack of Elizabeth; his grandchildren Megan (Brian) Plants, Jessica Hitchens, Cassie (Adam Zaborney) Pavlack, Justin (fiancee' Dawn Martis) Pavlack, Joshua Pavlack, and Farrah Pavlack; step-granddaughter Seneca Thompson; great-grandchildren Brock Plants and Brayden Zaborney; longtime companion Patricia Manko; brother Donald (Irene) Pavlack of Vienna, VA; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his siblings Richard Pavlack and Sylvia J. She was a waitress for many years at Ciccanti's and enjoyed spending Saturday nights watching scary movies with her grandchildren. Robin is survived by her daughters Heather (Eugene Colclaser) Payo and Barbara (Gerry Cope) Payo both of Clairton; grandchildren Justin and Jessica Colclaser and  Dylan, Jayden, Jackson, and Aria Alice Cope; step-grandchildren Gerry III and Christopher Cope; brother Joseph (Christina) Laffey of Jefferson Hills; and nieces and nephews.
