John M. McNeil Sr., age 82, of Forward Twp., formerly of Worcester, Mass., passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired after 32 years as a professional firefighter for Ladder 2 Company in Worcester, Mass. An Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War, he was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton. He was a lifetime social member of Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Co.

A former member of St. Clare Parish in Clairton, she loved good conversation, hosting people in her home, and feeding her visitors. She especially valued her family and time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Donald J. Turek, Sr., age 70, of West Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at home. He was a retired funeral director with the William H. Craig Funeral Home in McKeesport and worked for various funeral homes in the area. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was a former member of the VFW Post #803 in Clairton and a member of St. Isaac Jogues Church in Elrama, the Elrama Sportsman’s Club and the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA). He was an avid metal detector and enjoyed various outdoor activities.

Ronald C. Zubasic, age 57, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Excela Health Frick Hospital from injuries sustained in an accident. He was the owner of Ronald Zubasic Home Improvements in Elizabeth Twp. He enjoyed every aspect of the outdoors including camping, boating and sharing time with those he loved. His favorite entertainment was listening to the band The Real Deal. He was known to many as "the Bird Man" because of his pet parrots that accompanied him to many public events. Ron’s greatest assets were his kindness and generosity. He loved his dog and best friend, Buddy, who passed away with him.

Born December 27, 1957 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Glenn H. and June (Davies) Schumann. He is survived by his wife of 10 1/2 years, Zimin Ren; son, Ethan Schumann of Pittsburgh; brothers, Glenn I. "Oz" (Elaine) Schumann of Elizabeth Twp. and Tim Schumann of Clairton; sister, Deborah (Michael) DePollo of Kingsport, TN; also, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be private. William E. McCorkle Jr., age 78, of Dania Beach, FL passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at home. He was an emeritus professor of Physics and Astronomy after more than 33 years of teaching at West Liberty State College in West Liberty, WV. A former member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church, he was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Washington & Jefferson College and West Virginia University. He was a consultant for Prentice Hall Publishing Company and was twice recognized as an outstanding educator of America. He was a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers, American Institute of Physics, Delta Chi Social Fraternity, Chi Beta Phi, and AARP.
