Jonathan R. “Hüs” Salhus Sr., 60 of Glassport, formerly of Edina, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Edina, Minnesota on October 4, 1961, to the late Jon J. and Mary Ann Rogne Salhus. Jon was the loving husband of 26 years to Kristen Majzer Salhus. He is survived by his wife Kristen as well as their daughter Ashley (Jon) Bouchard of Elizabeth Township and son Jonathan (Mariah Flores) Salhus Jr. of Glassport. Further survivors include sisters Kari Overby of Westfield, WI, Kirsten (Kevin) McKeever of Lakeville, MN, brother Nathan (Carrie) Salhus of Rosemount, MN, and sister Stefani (Allan) Breidenbach of Waunakee, WI. Jack “Pap” Edward Gereshenski, 67 of Finleyville, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his home. He was born in Charleroi on September 7, 1954, to the late George and Alma Cullen Gereshenski. Jack was the loving husband of 48 years to Cheryl (Williams) Gereshenski. He is survived by his wife Cheryl as well as their sons Raymond of New Eagle and Ronald (Heather) Gereshenski of Monongahela. Additionally surviving are his adopted grandchildren Dominic, Kayla (Cameron), Jacob (Hailey), Laurisa (Cody). Further grandchildren include Morgan and Carly, as well as a grandchild-in-law Casea. Jack is also survived by his great-grandchildren Gracie and Brooklyn. He is preceded in death by his adopted grandchild Tyler Gereshenski and daughter-in-law Mandy Gereshenski. Jack was a member of the US Army where he served during peacetime. He was also a member of the Dormont-Mount Lebanon Sportsman’s Club as well as Wright’s United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and quad riding. He will be remembered for being a fierce family protector who would always support those he loves without a moment’s hesitation. Ricky Ingram, age 46, of Elizabeth Township passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022. He was the son of Brenda and Dean Gasky of Port Vue, and the late Rick Fairbanks of New Alexandria. Loving father of seven beautiful children, Christopher Mains, of Glassport, Ricky Ingram, Jr., of Pitcairn, Deanna Ingram of Pitcairn, Paige Ingram, of McKeesport, Ellis Ingram, Brendan Ingram, and Timothy Ingram, of Elizabeth. Fiancé of Maran Geletko, of Elizabeth. Treasured brother of Russ (Aimee) Gasky, of Clearwater, FL, Tom Gasky, of Dravosburg, Rebecca Campano, of Lincoln, Amy (Pat) Fonner, of Liberty, Amanda Reynolds, of Oakvale, MS, Eric Fairbanks, of Glassport, and April Fairbanks, of Glassport. His humor was unmatched and his quick wit filled his loved ones with laughter and joy. Franki Lee Maxine Spence was born silently into this world on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Magee Women’s Hospital. Though her time was short, her little life spoke volumes to those who love her. She was born to parents Franklin E. Spence III of McKeesport and Krista Lee Barker of Clairton. She is survived by her parents, her sister Karissa Gribschaw, brother Ryan Snyder, and grandparents Donald H. (Michelle S.) Sara Marjorie (Evans) Illig, 101 of West Mifflin, formerly of Dravosburg, passed away on Thursday, March 24th, 2022, at Jefferson Hospital. She was born in Williamsburg, PA on March 1st, 1921, to the late Lemuel E. and Cora (Chamberlain) Evans. Sara was the loving wife of 44 years to the late Bernard L. Illig. She is survived by her daughter Sara A. (John) Fagan of Tarpon Springs, FL, and sons David L. Illig of West Mifflin and Paul L. (Lynn) Illig of Salisbury, NC. Further survivors include her grandchildren John, Sara, Patrick, and Rebecca, great-grandchildren John Connor, Tess, Kate, Emma, Evelyn, and Joseph, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews. Sara was preceded in death by her sister Gladys Berkheimer and brothers Harvey, Walter, and Eugene Evans. She was a member of the Dravosburg United Methodist Church, as well as the Women’s Club and food bank. She enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, reading, and sewing. Naomi D. (King) Rosche, 86 of Elizabeth, passed away on Thursday, March 3
rd, 2022, at her home. She was born in Lincoln Borough on April 27, 1935, to the late Francis and Helen (Gumbert) King. Naomi was the loving wife of 67 years to Ronald A. Rosche. She is survived by her husband Ronald as well as her daughter Mary Elizabeth (Ray) Hoffman and son Christopher M. Rosche. Further survivors include grandsons Mathew and David Hoffman. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents as well as brothers Thomas and Robert King. She was a member of the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies as well as the Elizabeth United Methodist Church. Elizabeth Marie “Lee” Kostelnik, 88, of Dravosburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12th, 2021. She was born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania on November 19th, 1933 to the late Peter and Anna Lepo Makay. Preceded in death by her loving husband John Michael “Timmy” Kostelnik. Also preceded in death by her brothers Michael, Paul, and Albert Makay, sisters Helen Patton, Irene Stipetic, Dorothy Cavicchia, and Eleanor Fallon. She is survived by her son, John M. (Sheri) Kostelnik, of Lancaster, California, and daughter, Sandra L. (David Mooney) Kostelnik, of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. Grandchildren, John Michael Kostelnik, Kevin Alan (Kate) Kostelnik, Kara Leigh (Nicholas) Kerr, and Michael Ryan Kostelnik. Great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Carrie, Ashley, Kennedy, Harper, and River, and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a graduate of Duquesne High school, Class of 1952. Elizabeth, known to everybody as Aunt Lee, was a member of Dravosburg #2 Women’s Community Club and once served as president, a constable of elections, and said rosary at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church. She was deeply devoted to God, her family, and friends. She loved family get-togethers at her home, especially poolside during the summer. She loved animals and was an excellent cook, her stuffed cabbage and nut rolls were always a gift to her family and friends. Her laugh was infectious and she was always smiling and proud of her children and grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 10:00 am at the Church of St. Agnes, Parish of St. Thomas the Apostle, 622 Saint Agnes Lane., West Mifflin, PA 15122. Florence “Flo” Marie (Spencer) Oblak, 60 of Elizabeth, formerly of West Newton, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Jefferson Hospital. She was born in McKeesport on June 17, 1961, to the late Benjamin Sr. and Kathryn (Vitale) Spencer. Florence was the loving wife of 21 years to Scott A Oblak. Oblak of Somerset, and Zachary D. Oblak of Arona. Further left to mourn her loss is her beloved chihuahua Maxine. Other survivors include her best friend Stephanie (Rob) Short and her children Taylor and Maxwell, all of Irwin. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Gail Robertson, Brenda Warnick, and Ruth (Mark) Kimball, and brother Benjamin Spencer Jr. She was a generous, caring woman who spent over 25 years assisting adults in need of care at T.L.C. Adult Care Center in West Newton. Flo was also known for being a “red hat lady” at various nursing homes. She enjoyed playing bingo, attending art classes, traveling, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. A memorial service will take place at S.M. Nancy Jean Ginanni, 61 of Clairton, formerly of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Jefferson Hospital. Charles Albert “Chuck” Zwingler III, 66 of West Mifflin, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital. He was born in McKeesport on July 1, 1955, to Lois (Cochran) and the late Charles A. Zwingler Jr. Chuck was the loving husband of 21 years to Luanne (McWilliams) Zwingler. He is survived by his mother Lois Zwingler of Clairton, wife Luanne of West Mifflin, sons Charles IV and John (Alexis) Zwingler of Jacksonville, Florida, stepson Matthew (Suzanne) Hickey of West Mifflin, and stepdaughter Amanda (Michael) Pippi of South Park. It is with great sadness that the family announces the unexpected death of Ruth “Ruthie” Cochran Ulmer on January 4, 2022 at the age of 90, after a short, hard-fought battle with cancer. Ruth was born September 30, 1931, to the late Edward “Ted” and Ruth V. Coulson Cochran of Coal Valley in Clairton, followed closely by the birth of her devoted sister, Lois Jean, nineteen months later. Ruth was the loving wife of 57 years to William C. Ulmer, whom she lost in 2008. She was pre-deceased by two infant brothers, Charles and William. Left to mourn her passing is her sister, Lois Jean, and her three sons: William E. (Kathleen) of Clairton, Craig L. (Barbara) of Pleasant Hills, and Kevin T. (Ginger) of Greenock. She leaves behind seven grandchildren to cherish her memory: William M. (Andrea Pomarico), Christopher L. (Roy Gloeckl), Ted (Danielle), Bennett (Andrew) Ulmer and Meghan (Vince) Grabe, Jillian (Ed) Cerilli and Hannah (Ryan) Glaser. Ruth was blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Reagan Kathleen, Zoe Barbara, Aaron Anthony, Taylor Anne, Maximo Thomas, Rocky Ace, Olive Reign, and (expected) Cole Lewis. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she loved. She was a proud 1949 graduate of Clairton High School, a lifelong member of Pine Run United Methodist Church and was active in its Vacation Bible School, United Methodist Women’s group as well as one of the kitchen ladies. A longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Amaranth lodges, she developed and maintained close friendships wherever she went. Ruth retired after 24 years of service with U.S. Steel at its Clairton plant and was then able to take several memorable trips throughout the U.S. with her and Bill’s close friends, Ed and Lois Basch, George and Audrey Porter and her sister and brother-in-law, Chuck and Lois Zwingler. She and Bill proudly flew the Grand Squares square-dancing flag on their car for decades, and Bill made tapes of the more difficult “calls” for them to practice. A strong athlete far into her retirement, she remained active until recently with walks around the neighborhood with local friends, and even bowled a 200 game with her Monday morning ladies’ bowling league as recently as 2019. She was a dedicated fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. She cultivated long friendships with those from the AARP Wilson Chapter #1612, her “49’ers” high school luncheon crowd and a large circle of friends, staying in touch with daily or weekly phone calls- and she knew everyone’s phone number from memory. She was a hard-working woman of strength, determination, and faith, and has now joined Bill and her loved ones in Heaven. Unfortunately, her recipe for her Berry Roll goes with her. Friends will be received at the S.M. Finney Funeral Home at 432 N. 6th Street in the Wilson section of Clairton on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 2 to 8.
