Robert Carl Blake, 36, of Pittsburgh, formerly of North Versailles Twp. and McKeesport, died May 24, 2020. He was the beloved son of Jonathan “Jeb” (Susan Kolesar) Blake and the late Lynn R. Robert G. Reola, 78, passed away on May 17, 2020, from his home in North Versailles, PA, after a hard-fought, long battle with cancer. Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Pamela Haubrick (Edward), and Cheryl Wilson (Robert), and two beautiful grandchildren, who he adored and loved more than life itself, Nicole Javorski and Thomas Javorski. LaNora Louise (Rouse) Price passed away peacefully on February 1, 2020, at her home in North Versailles after a long illness. Born July 19, 1933, in Pittsburgh to John and Margaret Rouse, LaNora grew up on the Northside, graduating from Allegheny High School in 1951. In September of that year, she married Donald Price, a marriage that lasted until his death in 2008.
LaNora worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and as a meat cutter for Kroger’s in Duquesne but retired in 1972 to be a stay-at-home mother to her daughter Dawn.
After Donald’s retirement, he and LaNora traveled extensively, visiting England, Scotland, Wales, and Italy, and finally taking their dream vacation to Egypt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Karen (Klassen) Taylor, his daughter Nina Vonne Taylor & Douglas Knox of Monroeville PA, his son Terre Richard Taylor & Jonell Taylor of North Huntingdon PA, his grandsons Brandon, Travis, and Mason Taylor, his sister Debbe (Taylor) Lapina & Mike Lapina of Parrish FL. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was an avid hunter that enjoyed the outdoors with family and friends by his side.

John Scharritter, 76, of White Oak, passed away peacefully at home, on October 27, 2019. He was born on October 29, 1942 in Braddock and was the son of the late William and Emily Scharritter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen. John was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and prior to his retirement, was a systems administrator for Rexam, Inc. John enjoyed going to the Steeler games for many years, bowling with the American Legion League, golfing, fishing and especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sherry, daughter Kelly, sons Erik and his wife Terra; Chris and his wife Loree; his grandchildren, Coree, Colin, Navy, Jacob, Sky and Chance; his brother William, nieces and nephews.

Ronald R. “Tugboat” Bodnar, Sr. aged 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Ron was born in McKeesport, PA on July 7th, 1952 to the late Robert and Frances Bodnar.
He was affectionately known by friends and family as “Tugboat”, a nickname he earned from his 35-year career as a tugboat captain at U.S. Steel.
His favorite place to spend time was his “retirement home”, a camper and community near Pymatuming Lake, where he loved boating, fishing and spending his days with friends and family.
Ron had a larger than life personality and he lit up the room with his raucous laughter. He was a devoted husband, father, “Pap”, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Deborah (Seng) Bodnar, son Ron Jr. (Kristy) Bodnar, son Brad (Noel) Bodnar, 3 adoring grandchildren, Carson, Mason and Olivia who lovingly knew him as “Pap”, and sister Debra (James) Reynolds.

Casimira Rogowski, 83, passed away Friday August 2, 2019 at her home in North Huntingdon. Beloved wife of Jaroslav “Jerry” Rogowski. Cassie loved spending time with her family, traveling with her family and reading. She was always there to lend a hand to others and was an attentive and loving grandmother. As Buddha said, if you light a lamp for someone else, it will also brighten your path. Cassie brightened the lives of many during her life.
Surviving her are two sons John Rogowski, of East McKeesport and Michael Rogowski, of Park City, UT; and their spouses, Cheryl Rogowski and Putul Rogowski, her brother Zdzislaw (Jerry) Zawada, five grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Richard was the youngest of 13 children. He is preceded in death by all his siblings. He served honorably in the US Army where he played Football and Baseball. Richard worked as a Prison Guard in Phila. from 1962-65, the USS Research Lab in Monroeville, and was a consultant to several other companies including Davy Dravo, Mesta, and Rust Engineering.
