Olive "Ollie" Jane Swackhammer, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2020. She was born May 7, 1938 to James and Viola Patterson in Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Swackhammer; brothers, Donald, John, Edward, Thomas; and sisters, Dorothy Mesko and Irene Lewis. She was the loving mother of Daniel Jr. (Barbara), Randy (Lydia), Jeffrey (Dawn), Tammy Harkovich, Keith (Debbie) Swackhammer and Tracey (John) Diroll. She was an endearing grandmother to Steven Swackhammer, JP Diroll, Jeffrey Swackhammer, Randy Swackhammer, Michelle Mandery, Timothy Swackhammer, Eric Bittner, Matthew Swackhammer, Samantha Duran, Sarah Harkovich, Hailey McLindon, Austin Diroll, Keith and Addison Swackhammer; and brother, James Patterson. Rolf Herbert Weber, 86, of North Huntingdon, formerly of South Hills, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020. He was born May 16, 1933 in Wintersdorf, Germany, a son of the late Herbert and Dora Weber. Prior to his retirement, Rolf was an engineer for the steel industry and enjoyed hiking, camping, reading, and walking his dogs Dutch and Shadow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Helmut Weber, Juergen Weber, Stephan Weber; daughter, Marion Weber; sisters, Elfrieda and Annalise. Louise Perrino, 95 of North Huntingdon died January 26, 2020 at Excela Health Westmoreland. She was born March 15, 1924 in Larimer, a daughter of the late Natale and Lena Montini Felluca. Louise was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Federal Pacific in Irwin. Louise enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael , three sisters, Rose Nagy, Agnes Perrino and Nora Damico. Deborah “Debbie” Jean Racan was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on September 6, 1948. She departed us on January 22, 2020.
A loving wife, mother and homemaker, Debbie was a fantastic cook and always enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She was an extremely affectionate mother and doting grandmother who was proud of both her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed oldies and had a large collection of albums that she listened to through her passing. She liked meeting new people and would never shy away from being the first to strike up a new conversation. Debbie was formerly employed by Giant Eagle of North Huntingdon.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Joseph “Joe” Racan Sr., brother Charles "Chuckie" Wolf, sister Carol Robinson, son Joseph “Joe” Racan, Jr. and his wife Julie, daughter Tina McGeorge and husband Randall "Randy". She is also survived by five grandchildren, Joseph “Joe” Racan, Adeline Racan, Lauren Racan, Blake and Gavin Mastro.
Her husband, Joe diligently cared for her in the last few years of her life and she will be missed greatly although her family knows that she is finally at peace. Dorothy Ivan/Evans Manzlak, resident of North Huntingdon, PA, formerly of Glassport, born to the late George and Susan (Timura) Ivan of Glassport, died in her one hundredth year on January 15, 2020. Graduated as the class Salutatorian, she was the last surviving member of Glassport High School Class of 1938. A member of the former Holy Trinity / St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in McKeesport, she was a past president of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Ladies of Charity, was awarded the Diocese of Pittsburgh Ladies of Charity Service Award Medal, and founded the Holy Trinity Widows' Support Group. She was a church choir member where the Salesian-published poem she wrote, "Night of Nights," was set to music and sung at midnight mass. She also served as Glassport's Judge of Election, was a Girl Scout Leader, a past president of the Glassport Women's Club, past secretary of the Pittsburgh District of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, and an active volunteer and board member of the former Glassport Public Library. A resident of Redstone Highlands since 2013, she was known as the "poet" for her spiritual poems, several of which were published by the Salesians in their anthology books and booklets. Much to her delight, two were chosen for the Salesian Golden Book of Poetry placed in the Vatican Library and several are posted on the Salesian website. At Redstone, she formed many friendships among residents, staff, and caregivers. She considered each of them as additions to a loving family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John (Munzie) Manzlak in 1981; a sister, Regina in 1920; half-sisters, Mary Gyurisin, Elizabeth Kushner and Elizabeth Maharik; half-brothers, George and Michael Ivan; son-in-law, Pete Riesberg; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by daughters, Daria Riesberg of Alamo, CA and Dr. Audrey (Timothy) Quinlan of North Huntingdon; two grandchildren, Tara (Bill) Willenbrock of Chantilly, VA and Daniel (Deanna) Quinlan of Cranberry; one step-grandson, Derik Riesberg of CA; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
