Harry G. Smith, age 73, of Irwin, passed away on September 14, 2021, at Forbes Regional Hospital. Son of the late Harry G. and Alice Louise (Scott) Smith, he was born in Pittsburgh on March 17, 1948. He was a school bus driver for 1st Student for the Jeannette School District, a member of the V.F.W. in Irwin and liked to golf. He served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart and later joined the Army. He is the father of Douglas C. (Nicole) Smith of North Huntingdon, Bradley E. (Sophie) Smith of California and Ian G. Popojas Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Megliss) DeCello, he was born on May 20, 1947, in Duquesne. He was the retired owner of P&S Asphalt Co, West Mifflin, a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Agnes Church, he loved to ski, and he proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He is the beloved husband for 46 years to Rita T. (Kirsch) Popojas; father of Jamie Popojas of Munhall, Christopher (Christina) Popojas of Pittsburgh, Bryan Popojas of West Mifflin and William J. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Trinity Church and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was the husband of the late Dolores “Dolly” (Kushnir) Butella; father of Robert J. Robert W. “Rob” Fleckenstein, age 44, of McKeesport, passed away on September 5, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital. Beloved son of Wayne and Mary (Hock) Fleckenstein of McKeesport, Rob was born in McKeesport on February 6, 1977. He was a retired salesman and a former priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of Serra Catholic High School in 1995, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and St. Vincent Seminary in 2010 with two masters degrees in Divinity and Philosophy. He enjoy playing, listening to and composing music and was involved with the Pittsburgh Cursillo Movement. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister Julie (Daniel Hayes) Fleckenstein of Turtle Creek and Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Richard N. “Rick” Manns, 83, of West Mifflin, passed away on September 3, 2021. Son of the late Lawrence & Anna Surgent Manns, husband of Sharyn Conley Kelley Manns for 53 years, he leaves behind daughters, Kristyn Hunter & Courtney Moncavage, son, Michael David Manns & his partner John Ladner, grandsons, Justin Hunter, Zachary (Lauren) Hunter & Aiden Elias Moncavage and great granddaughters, Jacie Layne Hunter & Zoey Eira Hunter. A self-employed architect, he attended Notre Dame University and Taliesin, Frank Lloyd Wright’s School of Architecture. An avid golfer & member of Duquesne Golf Club since the age of 12, he carried a plus 1 handicap for many years and held the Club Championship numerous times. In the early 1970’s, he designed the initial clubhouse and facilities. As per his wishes, there will be no viewing. A future memorial will be held in County Clare, Ireland for the immediate family. Thomas J. O’Malley, age 75, died peacefully on September 1, 2021. He was the son of the late William F. and Mary W. O’Malley. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Anne Bromley, his brothers, William P. and James P. O’Malley, and his nephew, William H. O’Malley. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen B. O’Malley, brother, Patrick M. O’Malley, brother-in-law, William D. Bromley, one niece and four nephews and their spouses, three grandnieces, six grandnephews, and one great grandnephew. He had many friends, especially among the ARC Bowling Community. The family extends special thanks to Carol Moore and the staff at Sycamore Estate PCH who cared for Tom over the past 12 years. He was Past President of the K of C Senior Citizens, a member of the West Mifflin Annex Senior Citizens, and volunteer and potato pancake maker for the St. Joseph Fish Fry.

Gemma P. Senay, age 88, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on August 3, 2021. Daughter of the late Anthony & Anna (Mercuri) Petrozza, she was born on September 10, 1932, in Duquesne. She was a bookkeeper for several local firms, a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church, and enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She was the wife of the late John W. “Jack” Senay who died in 1996. She is survived by children, Scott & Suzi, 3 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, but especially enjoyed spending time with her four nieces, Paulette Barry, Francine Salata, Chris “Cookie” Christopher & Betty Anne Petrozza. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister, Michael “Mickey” (late Steffie) Petrozza, Elaine (late Frank) Pych, Alfred (late Jeanne) Petrozza and Marion “Mousey” (late Carole) Petrozza. Funeral Mass was held at Holy Name Church on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, with the Rev. Nick Mastrangelo officiating. Burial followed in Holy Name Cemetery.
