Ronald W. McKee, age 75, of Duquesne, passed away on March 22, 2021, in Brooksville, Florida. Born in McKeesport on January 15, 1946, he was the son of the late William J. and Alverna (Stein) McKee. Ron was the owner of McKee Asphalt Paving Co. in Duquesne for 50 years and enjoyed going to the casino and making sure his vehicles were impeccable. He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Huwalt) McKee; father of Debra (Ron) Kurta of Duquesne, Michelle (John) O’Donnell of North Versailles, Ronald “Butch” (Stephanie) McKee Jr. of West Mifflin, Michelle (Steve) Guffey of North Huntingdon, Cynthia (late Patrick “Mick”) Mains of White Oak; brother of Robert (Gina) McKee of White Oak, Noreen (Bill) Dirling of McKeesport, and late Jean (husband Tom survives) O’Neil; companion of Denise Garvey of Canonsburg; and also survived by Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Frank Kopriver IV, age 52, of Duquesne, passed away on March 18, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born in McKeesport on May 26, 1968, he is the son of Frank Kopriver III of Virginia Beach, VA and Alexis Findrick Smith of Duquesne; husband of Susan Ganzy; father of Amber Kopriver of Duquesne and Justin Kopriver of Duquesne; and brother of Jeff Kopriver of Duquesne. Frank worked in construction and liked to work on cars. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Joseph Church and she enjoyed the casino. She was the wife of the late Richard P. Milko; mother of Karen (Kevin) Lutz of West Mifflin; grandmother of Jonathan (Samantha) Lutz; Great Grandma Evelyn to Savannah Lutz and Jameson Lutz; dog mom to Misty, Chase, Gabby, Geno, Bootsie, Cuddles, Gigi and her bird, Noodles; also cousins Ruth and John Brown of White Oak and late cousin, Lee Sutch.

Eugenia “Jeanie” Slutyak Longcrier, age 82, of Duquesne, passed away at home on March 3, 2021. Born in Duquesne on August 3, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Potoma) Slutyak Sr. Jeanie was a graduate of Duquesne High School and the Robert Morris School Secretarial Division and over the years worked at Alcoa and US Steel, ultimately retiring from Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. In 1976 she married Alfred M. Longcrier and, sadly, was widowed upon his untimely death in 1982. Jeanie was a lifelong active member of the former St. Nicholas R.O. Church, Duquesne, President of the St. Nicholas R.O. Cemetery Corporation and current parishioner of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, McKeesport. A feisty, independent woman, with a dry sense of humor, Jeanie was dedicated to her faith, her church and her family. She was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams.

Joseph F. Skalican, age 95, of West Mifflin, passed away on March 8, 2021, at Harmar Village Care Center-Cheswick. Born in Duquesne on March 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Meschanik) Skalican. He was retired from U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works as a Motor Inspector, was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin, a member of their Men’s Club, worked at the Church fish fry for many years, and he proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He enjoyed taking care of fruit trees, his vegetable garden, and flower beds & hedges, liked to go dancing and was an avid coffee drinker. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Veronica (Dudash) Skalican; father of Juliann F. Skalican and her husband, Geoffrey Crowe of Penn Hills; grandfather of Julia Marion Crowe (Adam); and is also survived by in-laws, Donald Rausch and Margaret Forsythe and many nieces and nephews.

Gerald J. “Jerry” Pysk Sr., age 66, of Braddock, passed away on March 4, 2021, at UPMC Shadyside.  Born in Braddock on July 3, 1954, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Kerestes) Pysk. He was a Sales Rep for Regent R.C. Cola, former manager of the Buy & Fly on 21st & Carson in the South Side, and former member of L.O.O.M in East Pittsburgh and the Slovak Club in Braddock. Jerry was an avid bowler with a perfect 300 game. He was also a valued employee of the former Schleifer Funeral Chapel in North Braddock. Jerry was the beloved husband of 42 years to Cheryl (Szekely) Pysk; father of Gerald (Amy Maegle) Pysk Jr. of Whitehall and Andrea Nicole Pysk of Braddock; son-in-law of Florence Szekely of Braddock and the late Rudy Szekely; and is also survived by many cousins.

Marianne Luczak, passed away suddenly on February 27, 2021. Born on December 14, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Pacinda) Hrichak. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and especially her great grandchildren, Grayson and Teagan. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, swimming, volunteering for various local organizations and a variety of hobbies.

She was a former employee of Brooks Armored Car, where she was a money counter, and also worked at Walmart, West Mifflin, in the Bakery and Deli Department.

She is survived by children, Renee’ (Kenneth) Konias of Dravosburg, Dawn (Michael) Woods of Elizabeth, Denise Luczak of West Mifflin, and Dennis (Kathy) Luczak of West Mifflin; Grandchildren, Christina (Zachary) Thomas, Kenneth J. Konias Jr. and Damian Luczak; Great Grandchildren, Grayson and Teagan Thomas.

Born in Duquesne on March 16, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Cvitak) Yellich. Chuck was retired from U.S. Steel-Duquesne Work in the General Service and Transportation Department after 39 years.  He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church, Duquesne-West Mifflin Knights of Columbus #4210, the former Men’s Club at Christ the Light of the World Parish and he proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War and also in the Navy Reserves. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (Merisko) Yellich; father of Lori (Bob) Rushe of Duquesne, Michael (Chris) Yellich Bowman of Las Vegas; grandfather of Heather Jessip; great grandfather of Tanner Michael Jessip; brother of the late Joseph (late Josie) Yellich and late Margaret Yellich.

Rita M. Campbell, 78, formerly of Braddock, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. She was born on Wednesday, February 25, 1942 to the late James and Maggie (Henderson) Campbell. Rita worked as a steel worker at US Steel and also did some work at the Central Blood Bank. She enjoyed volunteering at the food bank, loved to play solitaire, coloring in her adult coloring books and truly loved cooking for various family events. Rita is survived by her son, Adolph Campbell (Ms.Ida Schofield) and special daughter Asia Campbell; her siblings, Carrie Spence (William Epps), Leo Campbell, Lawrence Campbell, Barry Johnson, Darrell Campbell and Jessica Campbell; her grandchildren, Shanna Jenkins, Ashley Campbell, Shakharis Campbell, Kyle (Funto) Campbell, Adolph Campbell Jr, Tenasia Campbell and Keith Penn-Bowman; Great-Grandchildren, Atayziah, Malakai, Ianna, Sincere, Shakainah, Shaniyah, Tru, Eden, Jemma Joy, Aiden, Khalil and Keyani. Besides her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her two children, Angela Bowman and Trenton Campbell, as well as her siblings, Frederick Henderson, Ester Campbell and Connie Campbell. He proudly served his country in the Navy. Donald is the father of Cpl. Heather Wheeler, U.S.M.C., of Cherry Point, N.C. and Shawn (Shawna) Wheeler of Clairton; brother of Sharon (Dennis Bishop) Denne of Ligonier, Ralph (Kim) Harrington of W. Jefferson Hills and the late Robert Wheeler. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Mary (Smolinsky) Belback, age 101, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on February 13, 2021, at Walden’s View of North Huntingdon. Born in McKeesport on November 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Wasyl & Anna (Misczycha) Smolinsky.  Mary worked at Christy Park Works during World War II and later in the Accounts Receivable Department as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church, McKeesport, where she volunteered as a “pirohi lady.”  Mary, with her late husband, Henry, lovingly enjoyed many family social events. Their travels and vacations left them with many fond memories. Her passion was bingo and casinos were a close second. A lucky lady she was. She was the wife of the late Henry A. Belback for 65 years; sister of late Leona (late Erfan) Shevke, late Olive (late John) Benyak, Genevieve (late Andrew) Yuna of North Versailles, Pearl “Billie” (late Joseph) Rolnik of White Oak, late Stanley Smolnicky, late Michael Smolinsky and late Jean Konias. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jean S. Kmetz, Stan Smolnicky, Lee Stebick, Joanne Wakefield, Maryann Zoscak, Janice Rolnik, Diane Seltzer (her godchild), Mary McDonald and many great nieces and nephews.

Born in McKeesport on August 28, 1944, he was the son of the late Walter and Julia (Kochuba) Blake. He was a senior design draftsman with 36 years service for Vista Metals.  He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church and a member of the Board of Directors at the VFW in Schellsburg. He loved all his friends in Key West, Florida that he called “family.” Bob proudly served his country in the Army. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Jean (Gajdos) Blake; father of Jason (Lesley Berthold) Blake of North Versailles, Justin (Kylene) Blake of Plum Boro, Jared (Christine) Blake of Leigh Acres, FL; grandfather of Andrew Jacob Blake, Katie Jean Blake, Lena Belle McLean, Blake Logan McLean, Lily McLean, Kaitlyn Berthold and Haydn Berthold; brother of the late Paul (surviving spouse Nancy) Blake of Florida and the late Barbara Blake. (Barbara) Pohelia of Akron, OH and the late Jane Nye; great aunt of Heidi (late Scott) Smith of Florham Park, NJ; great-great aunt of Cassie Smith; special friend of the late Gary Goyke. Raymond J. “Coal Man” Majzer, age 81, of West Mifflin, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at UPMC McKeesport. Born in Glassport on September 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (McCluskey) Majzer. He was a retired truck driver for DeRosa Trucking Co. in Dravosburg, drove truck at the Edgar Thompson Plant and was currently a school bus driver for A.S.K., in Wall, PA. Ray was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church, enjoyed fishing, car cruises, polkas, dancing, eating a good meal and socializing but most of all time spent with his family and grandchildren. He proudly served his country in the Navy.
