George Louis Trombola, age 89, of Conneaut Lake, formerly of McKeesport and Irwin, died on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on May 21, 1934 and is the son of the late George and Elizabeth Hando Trombola. George received his bachelor’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania and retired from Westinghouse Electric as a production supervisor, where he was employed for over 35 years. He had been a member of the former Transfiguration of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport, currently a member of Our Lady, Queen of the Americas Parish and the Iroquois Boating and Fishing Club, both in Conneaut Lake.

Charles Patrick “Pat” Riley, age 66, of Liberty Borough, died on Friday, October 13, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on December 22, 1956 and is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luke Riley. He proudly served in the United States Army, Special Forces Groups for 16 years, where he was involved in numerous combat missions. He was a pathfinder and learned crime scene investigations skills while in the military. He later retired as a police officer, where he served many different communities. Charles was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, as well as a former member of the Freemasons. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed all outdoor activities. He also played football in high school and enjoyed watching it all his life. He was a true lover of music, had own band at one time, and wrote a top 10 song when he was 17 years old.

He cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Gary had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a joke ready to bring a smile to people’s faces and his laugh was contagious. He was known for his unwavering support and willingness to help those in need. Gary shared a special bond with his daughter, going on road trips, attending sporting events, and worshiping the Lord together.

He was a longtime member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church. Those that knew him would have described him as quirky, but a really good guy.

He was born in McKeesport, PA on January 16, 1957 and is the son of the late James “Ted” and Mary Ann Pomaibo Dougherty. John was employed in the food industry for many, many decades. He started in stock and worked up to managerial positions at Shop ‘n Save on Fifth Avenue in McKeesport. After leaving Shop ‘n Save in McKeesport, he was employed as a manager and worked several years at Alco Parking in Pittsburgh. He later was a manager at the Shop ‘n Save in Olympia Shopping Center and then in management at Shop ‘n Save in the Hill District. Currently, he was a grocery manager at the Shop ‘n Save in Bethel Park. He formerly served as an usher for the former St. Pius Church in McKeesport. John loved a good laugh and was not afraid to speak his mind. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. His presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was very proud to be a 1970 graduate of Westinghouse High School, home of the Bulldogs, where he played football. After graduating, David served in the United States Army. He was employed as a housekeeper for DoubleTree by Hilton in Pittsburgh for over 30 years. He received numerous awards and recognitions from his employer, including Employee of the Year multiple times and was the longest serving employee in his department. David was also an avid Steelers fan.

Alexander enjoyed singing in the choir and cantoring at various churches throughout the area.
