Gloria Lee Carter Johnston, 92, of East McKeesport, affectionately known as "Glo" passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord, December 16, 2020. She was born September 28, 1928 in Reading, a daughter of the late Arthur and Laura Carter. 

She graduated from East McKeesport High School in 1946 and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She was a fashion illustrator for Jaison's Department Store. Her illustrations were published in the McKeesport Daily News. Glo enjoyed traveling, reading, shopping, her soaps, and Jeopardy. She was an active person and enjoyed being part of the planning committees of her high school reunions.

Gloria married her husband of 54 years David R Johnston on August 20, 1948. She became a wife, homemaker, and mother of three. David passed away on April 21, 2002.

For the last 10 ½ years she has resided with her loving and dedicated son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery C Johnston and Beth Ann Graziano. She is also missed by her beloved furry feline Whitey.

Also surviving is her son David C. Johnston of Latrobe, her daughter Kathryn L. Peters of GA; granddaughters Sacha and Maia; great granddaughter Olive; and her sister Kathryn "Kay" McConnell of OH.

Cassandra L. (Grace) Hinton, age 73, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020. She was born April 24, 1947, a daughter of the late Jack and Cassie Grace. She was a registered nurse that work for many years at the McKeesport Hospital and then for UPMC’s Home Health Care before retiring. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Ken) Walkosak of North Huntingdon; grandchildren Kira and Kali Walkosak; sister Carol (Baird) Whitehead; and brothers Kevin (Patty) Grace and Jack (Joy) Grace.

Gerald Nevin Paul, 76, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday , December 27, 2020 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital due to complications of Covid-19. He was born March 23, 1944 in North Huntingdon, a son of the late Earl Nevin and Lena Clara (Viano) Paul.

Jerry was a 1962 graduate of Norwin High School. He served in the National Guard and was employed by the Elliot Company in Jeannette for 38 years. His love of music and records, particularly “oldies”, led him to a second job as a DJ for special events. He was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church, Irwin. He loved the simple things in life – a good meal, coffee after dinner, and time spent with his family.

Donald “Don” Blair Wagner, age 89, of North Versailles died peacefully at home Wednesday, December 23, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born October 15, 1931 in Mapleton Depot, a son of the late Martin and Kathryn Wagner. Don was an Army veteran that served during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

He and his wife were the proud owners of Lemco Electric. For over 60 years, he generously served his community and went out of his way to provide excellent customer service. He truly enjoyed the relationships he formed serving his loyal customers. He also enjoyed bowling, watching sports and spending time with his family.

Junius “Jay” Breitinger, 74, of Irwin, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.

He was born October 1, 1946 in Owensboro, Kentucky, the son of the late Harry and Anna Louise (Meadows) Breitinger. Jay was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, Sewickley Township, and a proud Navy veteran that served during the Vietnam War. Throughout his working life Jay was a police officer in Washington D.C., a steel worker for U.S. Steel, McKeesport, and a truck driver for Munson Trucking.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and celebrating the 4th of July with family enjoying fireworks. Jay liked traveling, and took many trips visiting Kentucky and enjoyed good Kentucky Bourbon.

She was a long-time member of Mary Mother of God Parish, formerly known as St. Robert Bellarmine in East McKeesport and was an avid bingo player.

She is survived by her children Joan (Ronald) Bacco of White Oak, Judith Kurp of Monroeville and David (Paula) Kurp of Gibsonia; grandchildren Mark (Valerie) Bacco, Jaime Bacco, Bryan Kurp and Tyler Kurp; Great grandchildren Mia, Noah, Audriana and Samuel Bacco; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a longtime cook at Nigro’s Restaurant and then, along with her family, opened Rene’s Restaurant in East McKeesport in 1987. After retiring from the restaurant she enjoyed working at Sam’s Club in Monroeville. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Colman Church, and was a huge Steeler fan.

Albert G. Moore Jr., 91, of Irwin, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020. He was born July 3, 1929 in Wilmerding, a son of the late Albert G. Sr. and Hazel C. (Mellinger) Moore and was also preceded in death by his sisters Helen Davies and Margaret Short and a nephew Larry Davies.

He was a charter member of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church, a member of Shidle Lodge No. 601 F. & A.M., Irwin, for more than 50 years, and a proud Army veteran that served in the Korean Conflict. Albert began his career as a machinist apprentice at Westinghouse Air Brake Company, Wilmerding.

He owned and operated Moore and Shaver Machining, New Stanton, and prior to his retirement worked as a salesman for REM Electronic Supply Co. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed riding his bike on the Yough River Trail, and would volunteer with the YRBTC to maintain the trail. Albert was an amateur archaeologist.
