Kathryn Z. Murcek, 94, a resident of Golden Heights, former of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday October 17, 2018. She was born December 12, 1923 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late Rev. John and Katherine (Cernacek) Murcek and was also preceded in death by her siblings Olga Klevemann, Si, John L., David J., Milan S., Walter A., Daniel B., and Dr. Martin Murcek, Mildred Galla, and Milicent Prokop. She was a graduate of Duquesne High School and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for two years. She was a retired assistant officer for Mellon Bank, Pittsburgh.

Kevin L. Keller, age 64, of North Versailles, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018. He was born November 9, 1953 in New Kensington, a son of the late Theodore and LaRue Keller. He was a long-time member of Linway United Presbyterian Church in North Versailles where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He retired after 32 years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Monroeville, Plum and Penn Hills before spending the last 5 years as a Legislative Assistant to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He loved watching hockey, especially with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of over 39 years, Susan E. (Krupa) Keller; children Shaun (Sabrina) Keller and Shannon (Tony Cautela) Jeffries; grandchildren Brianne Jeffries and Luca and Landon Keller; brothers Howard (Helen) Keller and Keith Keller; and sister Karen (John) Crandall.

She was born May 31, 1931 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Foster) Valiquette and was also preceded in death by her husband Theodore P. Gida Sr., a son David A. Gida, and her brothers Jack and William Valiquette. Her family was the most important part of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother dedicated to caring for them.

Ross F. Walton, Jr., 93, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday September 20 2018, in UPMC East, Monroeville. He was born July 11, 1925, a son of the late Ross F. Sr. and Edna (Hoak) Walton and was also preceded in death by his first wife Lois (Williams) Walton in 1990, a brother Harry C. Walton, sister in law Naomi Walton, and brother in law Wilbur Dudley. He was a graduate of Norwin High School, class of 1943, served in the Army, and graduated from Duff’s Business School. Prior to retirement Mr. Walton was owner of R & H Screw Machine Company, the Walton Insurance Agency, as well as Walton Real Estate. He was a lifelong member of Westmoreland City Primitive Methodist Church where he was church organist for 70 years, served on the church Trustee Board, and acted as the church’s financial secretary.

Kifer and her brother and his wife Clyde and Myrtle Friend. She was a retired secretary for Equitable Gas Co. and a longtime member of First United Church of Christ, Irwin. Prior to her husband’s passing they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and enjoyed bridge club with friends.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and former member of Penn Woods United Methodist before its closing. She worked at the Irwin Bank and Trust as the bank manager for over 20 years before retiring. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Carolyn Miller. She is survived by her husband of over 56 years Donald “Don” F. Ditter, children Tammy (John) Blackwood of Rostraver and Donald R. “Dirt” (Dana) Ditter of Trafford; grandchildren Kolin and Megan Ditter; sister Anita (Robert) Minnix of Richmond, Virginia; brother Robert (Donna) Forgie of Turtle Creek; brother-in-law Tommy Miller; and many nieces and nephews especially Christopher and Carter Minnix who thought of her as “grandma”.

He retired as an electrical draftsman/technical illustrator for Westinghouse Electric Corp., East Pittsburgh. Alan was a member of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church, the Greensburg Art Center, and was a former member of Strawpump VFD. He was a life member of Irwin Sportsman’s Club and liked to hunt and fish. He was a NASCAR fan and a Steelers fan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Valerie M.
