GERALDINE M. WILSON, 76, of Monroeville, died Nov. 28, 2017. She is the daughter of the late John and Maria (Patrick) Pankiewicz. She is survived by her beloved husband Lawrence Wilson, Jr.; son Edward Mikesell; sister Joan Drosdick; 2 nieces; 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew and also great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother John Pankiewicz. Geraldine was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; Monroeville Lions; Democratic Women of Canonsburg; Blind Outdoor Leisure Development and the Elks Lodge #775. A memorial service will be held Sat. Dec. 9, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Old William Penn Highway, Monroeville, at 1:00 pm followed by a service with the Lions Club. JOHN T. MAGYAR, 68, of Glassport died Nov. 6,2017. He is the son of the late Steve and Mary (Blaskewicz) Magyar. John is survived by his sisters Helen (Robert) March and Patricia Baran; brother Stephan Magyar; also 7 nieces and nephews. David A. Herrmann, Sr., 72, of Adamsburg, formerly of White Oak, died Oct. 27,2017. He is the son of the late Eugene and Mary Mae Herrmann. He is survived by his wife Linda Diann (Wolfe) Herrmann; daughter Linda (Sean) Antonella of Greensburg; son David A. Herrmann, Jr. of Irwin; brothers Eugene (Janet) Herrmann of Glassport and Paul (Mary Alice) Herrmann of Largo, FL; sisters Kathy (Harry) Chesney of Braddyville, Iowa and Lori Mendiola of Junction City, Kansas; also 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Rodger Herrmann. David was a retired motor inspector for US Steel; a member of the White Oak American Legion; Junior Order of Mechanics Coal Valley Council #98 and served in the US Army. DONALD J. SLIVKA, 71, of Glassport died Oct. 14, 2017.
He is the son of the late Michael and Sally (Majzer) Slivka. Don is survived by his girlfriend and companion, Gina Wawrzeniak; daughter Jennifer Slivka; son Mark D. Slivka; grandson Mark D. Slivka, Jr.; brother John (Linda) Slivka; nephews Jerry, John, Matthew and David and great nieces Zoe and Brooklyn.

SHELLY L. KIRALY, 75 of Glassport, died Oct. 9, 2017. She is the daughter of the late William and Anna (Andrews) Kiraly. She is survived by her brother Bill Kiraly of White Oak; niece Alexandra Kiraly and her beloved dog, Bandit. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt Helen Batt. Shelly was a legal secretary for Scoratow and Dudik Law Firm; she did free lance typing for Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital as well as volunteer work. She was an executive secretary for Westinghouse Electric Corp., Bettis Atomic Plant and also worked for Attorney Richard Zeleznik in the late 50's and early 60's. Shelly was a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Glassport and was an avid golfer, accomplishing 8 hole-in-ones and was a 4-time woman's champ at Bel Meadow Country Club in West Virginia. Shelly graduated from Glassport High School, where she was a majorette and went on to Grace Martin Business College, graduating with honors. Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Fri. 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral blessing will be held Sat. 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Miroslaus Wojcicki. BERNARD F. DWOREK, JR., 79, known as “Butch” or “Bernie”, died at home Sept. 7, 2017. He is the son of the late Bernard and Emily (Krukowski) Dworek, and devoted husband to his beloved wife Carol, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded by sister Emily Rusnock and brother William “Bill” Dworek. Butch was the Daddy of Lisa (Daniel) Hommel, of Monroeville, proud PapPap of Matthew and Benny, and “big brother” to cousin Michelle Vancas and her family. Butch was a police officer in Glassport for over 40 years, capping his career as Chief of Police before retiring in 1999. As Police Chief, he coordinated many activities for children, including the popular Annual Fishing Contest, as well as food drives and Christmas activities partnered (through his wife, Carol) with the Glassport Girl Scouts. He also assisted in her Scouting activities, and greatly enjoyed trips to Pymatuning, fishing, game nights with in-laws ’Sis’ and ‘Budg’, time with “the Kids”, and watching his grandsons perform in musicals. He belonged to Queen of the Rosary Parish, the Fraternal Order of Police, Citizen Hose Co. #2, and the Oldtimers Baseball Club. After retirement, he became a bus monitor for special needs children, known to coworkers and kids as “Mr. Bernie”. Butch and his ’soulmate’ Carol were always a team; he steadfastly cared for her at home during her prolonged battle with complications from renal failure until her death in 2013. Friends will be received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Sat. 6-8 and Sun. 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral Mass will be held Mon. 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Parish with Rev. Miroslaus Wojcicki. Internment will follow at Round Hill Cemetary.

HELEN ZALEWSKI, 98, a longtime resident of Glassport, passed away on Sept. 3, 2017. Wife of the late Joseph H. Zalewski and mother of recently deceased son, Joseph W. Zalewski (Joseph died 5/21/17). Helen is survived by beloved son, Francis E. (Margaret) Zalewski; grandchildren Thomas (Stephanie) Zalewski, Molly Zalewski, Anna (Keith) Etzweiler and Maureen (Edward) Regnier; 6 great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Paulette Zalewski. JENNIFER L. BELFIORE, 28, of Glassport, died Aug. 27, 2017. She is the daughter of the late William and Lisa (Swantek) Belfiore. Walter L. Markowitz, Jr., 72, of Crystal Spring, PA, died Aug. 23, 2017. He is the son of the late Walter and Iva (Barnes) Markowitz.
