Edward “Ned” McCune Caughey, 66, of Ligonier, died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at home.  Born in McKeesport, November 5, 1951, he was the son of the late Dr. Edward and Virginia Housaman Caughey.  He is survived by his wife, Judith Wilson; his cousin, Sue Ann (Keith) Singer of Latrobe; and his lifelong friend, Mac Petty of White Oak.  Ned was a retired groundskeeper at Laurel Valley Golf Club and a lifeguard, swim instructor, and personal trainer at the Ligonier YMCA.  He was a graduate of Penn State University and a member of the McKeesport YMCA and the Youghiogheny Country Club. Ned was a volunteer for the Ligonier Valley Meals On Wheels and for the Friendly Visitors of Westmoreland County.  He was an avid organic gardener and golfer.  Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 is in charge of arrangements.  A celebration of Ned’s life will be held at a later date.  The family suggests contributions to the Ligonier Valley Meals On Wheels or Wildlife Works Inc. in Youngwood, PA.

Alice Mary (Rodriguez-Gutierrez) Boyd of Middleboro died peacefully on February 19, 2018.  She was 90.

She was born on September 1, 1927 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Jesus Gutierrez and Concepcion Rodriguez-Gutierrez.  Prior to her retirement, Alice worked for many years as an electronics assembler at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.  She was a member of the Mexican/American Club in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and numerous Catholic organizations.  A devout Catholic, she treasured her faith and family. 

Former wife of the late John Gilbert Boyd, Sr.  Devoted mother of Veronica L. Gasdick of Pennsylvania, Kathleen F. Boyd of Massachusetts, Arthur F. Boyd of Texas and the late John Gilbert Boyd, Jr. Loving sister of Arthur J. and William Gutierrez, Julia Kowalski, the late Pedro Gutierrez, Jenny Boyko and Joseph Gutierrez.  Also survived by cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday (March 2, 2018) at 6:30 PM in the Onset Foursquare Church, 301 Onset Avenue, Onset. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (March 10, 2018) at 9:30 AM in Queen of The Rosary Church, 530 Michigan Avenue, Glassport, Pennsylvania.

Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.

RICHARD PHILLIP “RICKY” FALCHETTI age 66, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Administration H.J. Heinz Community Living Center on February 14, 2018. He lived and worked most of his life in the Duquesne area, including working at US Steel Duquesne Works, primary mill. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era where he received a National Defense Service Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. He was diagnosed with ALS in early 2017 and fought this terrible disease at home with the help of family members, friends, and as the disease progressed, his care was continued by loving and caring people at the VA. He was a son of the late Louise Rose (Consiglio) Falchetti. He is survived by his father, Richard L. Falchetti; brothers, Mark (Rosemarie), Byron and Keith (Mary Anne); and sister, Carmela; and special friend, Paulette Barry. He loved his nieces, Alyssa, Liana, Julia, Maria, Brittnie, Paige and Anziana; and great-nieces, Hailey and Natalie; and his aunt, Pat, in Kentucky; also cousins. There will be no visitation. She was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish in Duquesne, former member of the Christian Mothers of Holy Name Church, Duquesne Senior Citizens Council, Fellowship Club of Duquesne, and the Knights of Columbus Senior Citizens. She was the credit manager for Busy Beaver Building Products for many years until her retirement. Anna Mae was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed. She was blessed with three children who loved her dearly, Kathryn (Jim) McMichael, of RuffsDale; Arthur Eicholtz Jr., of West Mifflin, who passed away in 2012; and Jeffrey (Suzie), of West Mifflin. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and they loved their Grammy: Jimmy (Katie) McMichael, of Greensburg; Kimberly (Travis) Synder, of Scottdale; Sara (Jonathan) Monkelis, of Youngwood; Ian (Samantha) Eicholtz, of Orlando, Fla.; Craig Yogan, of West Mifflin; and Chad Yogan, of Hershey. She found so much joy in the company of her great-grandchildren, Maddox Monkelis, Henry McMichael, Brianna Monkelis, Samuel McMichael and Jagger Eicholtz. She is also survived by her loving sister, Florence Laychak, of Glassport, and many nieces, nephews and relatives. A blessing service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski officiating.

He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Athletic Directors Association, the Elizabeth Forward Alumni and Friends Association and the Elizabeth Township Seniors. Wally was a Teacher, Head Basketball Coach,  Head Track Coach and was also Athletic Director at Elizabeth Forward High School. He retired after 33 years of service. He taught World Cultures, History, English, Science and Math. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and Clemson University where he attended on a Basketball Scholarship. He also served on the Elizabeth Forward School Board. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darla Ruth Golz Gibbons, daughters, Debra Ruth Gibbons and her lifetime partner, Donald R. Short of Pleasant Hills and Lynn Renee' and her husband Frank Przywarty of New Castle, grandson, Nichalas Gibbons Przywarty,  sister-in-law, Bernice and her husband Bill Vaughn of McKeesport, a niece, Nancy and her husband Tom Andrejko, nephew, David and his wife, Marianne Vaughn, great-nieces and great-nephews and many special cousins and friends.

Patricia A. "Patsy" Christeson, 79, of Elizabeth Township, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at home with her children and her dog, Lucy by her side. She was born December 10, 1938 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Skiffington Martin. She was the wife of the late Alfred E. "Chris" Christeson who died August 23, 2007. They were married for 46 years. She was a member of the former St. Pius V Catholic Church in McKeesport and the Kiwanis Club. She was an amazing seamstress that could design, sew, or make anything and everything. She began sewing when she was 5 years old and making alterations on people's clothes before she was 10. She always said that we could take away her car, but not her sewing machine. She handmade her grandchildren's Christening and Baptismal gowns which are even more cherished now. She was happiest at her family built cabin in Cameron County, with her late husband, children and grandchildren where she enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing and making items with wood (furniture, cedar chests and chairs) with many going to family or friends. She is survived by children, Michael (Carol) Christeson of Washington, Daniel (Roberta Walk) Christeson,  Paul "Toby" (Jamie) Christeson and Kristine (Jack) Cant of Elizabeth Township. "G" spent a lot of time with her  grandchildren, Jess Cant, Kaitlyn, Pearl, Kaylee, and Alfred Christeson. She is also survived by her brother, James "Mickey" Martin of Winterhaven, Florida, sister-in-law, Dee Martin of North Huntingdon, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Arlene L. (Aston) Izatt, 82, of North Versailles, died Thursday February 1, 2018. She was born July 18, 1936 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late George Moore and Margaret Mary (Quinn) Aston and was also preceded in death by her beloved son James George Izatt, former husband James Izatt, and siblings, twin sister Elaine C. Hickey, Rowland Aston, George D. Aston, and Audrey Aston McIndoe. Arlene was a retired employee of Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding, a member of Linway Presbyterian Church, North Versailles, an avid bowler, an excellent pianist, and was wonderful at handicapping horseracing. She is survived by two grandchildren Lauren Lisa and James Michael Izatt, brothers H. Carl Aston of Wilmerding and A. Craig Aston of FL, and many nieces and nephews.

Christine Melissa Whiteman, 89 of Liberty Borough passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. She was born November 6, 1928 in Ardara and was the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Hawk Pogue. Christine had a wonderful family. She loved life, her family, family events and traveling. She also had a love for animals. For many years Christine was employed as a legal secretary in Pittsburgh. She graduated from Trafford High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Whiteman, son, Richard Whiteman, great grandson Michael Morningstar, two brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Janice (William) Hohn of Cranberry Twp, daughter-in-law, Lynanne Whiteman of Liberty Borough, granddaughter Jacquelyn Hobbs, grandson Scott Salvatore, sisters, Mary Eleanor Yelincic and Alma Stone, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
