Winnetta A. Svenungsen, 70, of Port Vue, died Aug. 18, 2021. She is the daughter of the late Sverve and Louise Svenungsen and beloved companion and fiance of Gary Bence. She is survived by her daughters Shawna (Keith) Ribich and Ann (John) Wargo; son John (Melissa) DiCarlo; sister Donna (Ed) Stromberg; also grandchildren and great grandchildren. Winnetta was preceded in death by her son Ronald Svenungsen. Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, on Mon. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. A funeral mass will be held Tues. at 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Church with Father Wojcicki.

Braun P. Welsch, 91, formerly of North Huntingdon died August 18, 2021 at Brookdale Sr. Living Center. He was born August 10, 1930 in Turtle Creek a son of the late George and Matlida Breeger Welsch. Braun was a member of the Circleville United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a supervisor by Verizon Central office. He was an avid outdoorsman and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dale, two brothers, George Jr. and Robert C. Welsch. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty (Tietze) Welsch, his daughter, Roxanne Anson, daughter-in-law, Roberta Welsch, one granddaughter, Kristen (Scott), one great grandchild, Tyler, a nephew, Barry Welsch. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements by James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Circleville United Methodist Church.

Larry J. Hoffman Sr., 63, of Larimer, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at his home. He was born February 22, 1958, a son of the late Jesse and Hazel Triplett Hoffman. Prior to his retirement, Larry was a surveyor for West Penn Power. He was a member of the American Eagles in Irwin, Larimer Firehall Social Club, played pool in various pool leagues. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Venzon Hoffman in 2020. He is survived by his sons, Larry Jr (Jessica). and Christopher (Dana); daughter, Haley Hoffman (Tommy) , a sister Hazel Hoffman, grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Amanda, Skylar, Serenity and Damian. Florence A. Horvath, Age 90 of East McKeesport passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born January 7, 1931. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Julius M. Horvath, and her parents, Maurice and Helen McCarthy, her brothers, Maurice and John McCarthy, and her sisters, Eleanor Volturno and May Helen Kramer, and her son in law, John Bruno. She is survived by her children, Debra Bruno of Greensburg, Ardele Dull of North Versailles, Mark Horvath of White Oak, Jim Horvath, Joanne Horvath of Williamsburg, Virginia, Bill Horvath of White Oak, Mary Ann Bargiel, Richard Bargiel of White Oak and Richard Horvath of East McKeesport.
She was loved by 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a member of Saint Robert Bellarmine Church for 62 years, which is now Mary Mother of God Parish. She was a devout Catholic who revered the Blessed Mother.

Mike worked for Equitable and Peoples Gas for 43 years. He was a lifelong member of St Robert Bellarmine Church Mary Mother of God Parish. He was a valued friend by many. Not many can say their best friends with the same guys that they hung out with in High School, Mike could say that.
Mike loved listening to music and sports, baseball being his favorite. Although he loved the Pirates, Ryan, Mike, and the boys would take in a little league game any day. He was so supportive of Anita, Ryan, and Cory in all their activities. He never wanted to be in the spotlight but none of us would have shined without him. Mike loved to trash talk, be it Spades, Cornhole, Monopoly, playing or not, he always had a sarcastic comment for those playing. Friday night dinner and game nights were his favorite.

Anthony Isaac (Tony) Cook, 16, of Glassport, Pa., passed away peacefully in his home after a hard fought battle with cancer on August 8, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 14, 2005. He attended South Allegheny School District. He was an excellent student and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. The South Allegheny Gladiators including teachers, schoolmates and entire community showed overwhelming support and embodied the #Tonystrong movement. They tirelessly stood beside him throughout his long and difficult battle with neurofibromatosis and cancer. He never felt alone.

Joseph Paul Reed, 51, of West Mifflin passed away Aug. 15, 2021 at home. He was the son of the late James V. and Arlene Reed. Joey will be greatly missed and remembered for his love of his family and friends. Joey loved all living things from animals to bugs. He wouldn’t harm a fly. Next time you see a spider maybe you can be like Joe and let it go. He loved seeing people happy, cookouts with his family, his nieces and nephews, frisbee and had a fascination with dragons. He hated the cable company. He had a great sense of humor and would often imitate Jim Carrey and the Jerky Boys. If you needed help with anything he would try his best to fix it for you. He was so kind and gentle. Not loud or arrogant. Sweet and generous.

He enjoyed working with puzzles and building things with his hands including many construction and remodeling projects. He liked attending art festivals, flea markets, open houses, playing Uno with grandchildren and attending their ball games. He loved spending time with his family.

Odie worked for many years at National Record Mart at Eastland Mall. She was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church, and was a devoted Catholic. She always enjoyed volunteering at the funnel cake booth. Odie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She liked watching football on Sunday and never missed a Steelers game.

Dushan "Duke" Vranesevic, 98, of West Mifflin, formerly of McKeesport, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021. He was born July 12, 1923 in Duquesne and was the son of the late George and Mildred (Todorovich) Vranesevic. He was the husband of 61 years to the late Sophie (Vignovich) Vranesevic, who passed away May 15, 2009. He was a US ARMY Veteran serving in the43rd Division of the 103rd Infantry during World War II, he served in the South Pacific, New Caledonia, New Zealand and The Philippine Islands. For his service he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theatre of Operations Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star, The Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. Duke worked as a craneman for the former US Steel National Tube in McKeesport and retired with over 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport and it's Men's Club. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and proudly served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the State of Washington.

Mary E. Brooks, age 94, of McKeesport, died August 13, 2021, at Riverside Care Center. Born March 23, 1927, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Ella (Cox) Harper and the wife of the late James F. Brooks, Sr.
Mary retired in 1991 from Louise Child Care as a daycare teacher. She attended the Macedonia Church in Duquesne, where she sang in the choir and helped with the usher board. Mary was a member of the tenant council at Isbir Manor and the Le Femme's Club.
Mary is survived by her sons, Eric Brooks of McKeesport and Ronald Brooks of Michigan; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Robert James Angel, 83, of Duquesne, entered into eternal life peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in Baldwin Health Center. Born in Pittsburgh on November 3, 1937, he was one of twelve children born to the late Nicholas John and Theresa M. (Koehler) Angel. Mr. Angel is survived by a brother and sister-in-law Regis Michael and Maureen Angel and two sisters, Catherine "Dolly" (Late John) O'Keefe and Martha "Martie" Angel, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles Francis Angel, Richard John Angel, George Angel, Thomas Angel, and William Angel, and three sisters, Rose White, Theresa "Tessy" Angel, and Margaret Menary.
