After an extremely courageous battle with cancer, Domenico “Mico” Lagana, age 73 of North Versailles, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 28, 1947 in Reggio Calabria, Italy, a son of the late Francesco Lagana and Maria Polimeni.

He worked as a Concrete Foreman for over 25 years for Golden Triangle Construction Company before retiring. He loved golf, fishing, gardening and spending time at the family cabin at Whipkey Dam.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Domenica “Mimma” Lagana; children Maria (Fiance' Darrell Franks) Lagana of North Versailles, Frank (Jessica) Lagana of Greenfield and Dominic (Jamie) Lagana of East Mont; grandchildren Anthony (fiancé Emily), Alexis, Santino (fiancé Cameron) Dominic III (Mia), Francesco, Jimmy, Rocco, Bruno and Domenica; great grandson Domenico; 3 brother and 3 sisters living in Italy; and many nieces and nephews.

John Fitzgerald Gross, 56, a resident of White Oak for 20 years, formerly of McKeesport passed away on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born in McKeesport on May 29, 1964 to the late Eugene and Madeline Medved Gross. He is survived by his former wife and life-long friend Jane Stegman Gross, of White Oak, and their children; David C. (Jessica) Gross, of Elizabeth, and Shawn M. Gross, of White Oak. John also leaves behind his grandchildren; Emma Gross and Jackson Gross, sister Diane (Craig) Brooks, of Elizabeth, his nieces and nephews, and his cats Toby and Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. John was a member of the St. Angela Roman Catholic Church in White Oak, and was employed by Don Farr Moving and Storage as a truck driver.  John was a man that enjoyed eating, loved cats, fishing, crime shows, and napping. He was a man that was a loyal helper, a joker, and he will be missed dearly by all that knew him. Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 9am to 12:00 noon at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. A service will take place at the funeral home at 12:00 noon on Friday to be followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Vue. Mary Eleanor Sabo, 83, of Munhall formerly of West Mifflin died Monday June 8, 2020. She is the daughter of the late Frederick and Eleanor (Kirmeyer) Tyson. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Sabo. She is survived by daughters Robin Pavlik and Lisa Csokuly; son-in-law Maitland Lebedda; grandchildren Jennifer Pavlik, Jason (Dominica) Pavlik, Jessica Pavlik, Corey (Audi) Lebedda and Chase Lebedda; and great-grandchildren Alexandria, Anastasia, and Navy. She was preceded in death  by her daughter Deborah Lebedda. A funeral mass will be held Friday 11am at St. Therese Church in Munhall. Interment following St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.  Brian Michael Armstrong, 36, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at home where he was loved. He was born March 26, 1984 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Brian was raised in Pittsburgh and attended Liberty Elementary where he was a Boy Scout, Frick International Studies Academy where he spoke Spanish as a second language and played the Oboe in the Pittsburgh Public Schools Orchestra, then graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School in 2002 where he was on the Robotics Team and participated in the First Competition in Orlando, Florida. Brian was #56 on the Taylor Allderdice Football Team and played in both the City and State Championship games.

Robert ‘Bob’ Bartolomeo, age 65, of Clairton passed away after a battle with cancer on Sunday, June 7th, 2020, with his loved ones at his side. Born September 26th, 1954 in Clairton, Bob was a wonderful soul and had a huge heart toward others. He was passionate about broadcasting, sports… especially Penn State football, loved local history, and was an advocate for animal rescue. His brothers, family, and friends will miss him very much. Bob attended Penn State University and was the varsity football Equipment Manager for Joe Paterno. He was also a member of the 1979 Sugar Bowl Champions. In his 40-year career, he worked in Washington, D.C. as managing director of affiliate relations for United Stations. Additionally, he was on-air for WMZQ, and most recently on KQV. During his radio career, Bob also worked for Unistar, Westwood One, Premiere, TRN, CNN, FNN, and CNBC. He worked closely with top talent including Dick Clark, Don Imus, Jim Rome, Mancow, and Pittsburgh’s Chuck Brinkman. Robert joins both his parents who predeceased him, George L. Bartolomeo, and Carmela (Virgona) Bartolomeo-Pholar.  He is survived by his brothers George Bartolomeo of Blue Springs, Mo., Joseph Bartolomeo of Dublin, Ohio, and John Bartolomeo of New York, N.Y.; as well as his nieces, nephews and grandnieces.

Charles “Chuck” Zwingler Jr., 88, of Clairton passed on June 6th, 2020 at UPMC Mercy Hospital. He was born on May 2, 1932 the son of the late Charles and Emily Zwingler and brother to the late Loretta “Beezie” Barker and Harry “Luke” Bowen. He was a graduate of McKeesport Votech and retired from Hercules Chemical Corp in 1995. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army where he served with the 18th Airborne Corps Artillery. Chuck was an active member of Pine Run United Methodist Church. He served faithfully in just about every capacity and sang with the chancel choir for 60 years. He volunteered at Clairton Meals on Wheels at the Clairton Food Bank and was past president of the Clairton AARP 1612 where he sang with their Yankee Doodle Dandies. Chuck was a member of the Omni Masonic Lodge #582, American Legion Post #0075 and Steel Valley Lifespan. He enjoyed researching his ancestry, history, traveling, watching Pittsburgh sports and taking Sunday naps. Chuck was a friend to all and deeply loved his friends, family and community. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lois Cochran Zwingler; his son, Charles (Luanne) Zwingler III of West Mifflin; his daughter, Deborah (Ronald) Lieberum of Elizabeth Township; and his grandchildren Amy (Brendan Coticchia) Lieberum, Charles Zwingler IV, John (Alexis) Zwingler and Ronald (Sarah) Lieberum Jr.; great-granddaughter Isabella; step grandchildren, Matthew (Suzy) Hickey and Amanda (Michael) Pippi; step-great grandchildren Brynlie, Emmett, Violet and Nora; sister-in-law Ruth Ulmer (the late William Ulmer); and several nieces and nephews.
