Carol I. (Heller) Trappen, 79, of Elizabeth Township, died October 15, 2019. She was born December 25, 1939 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Irene C. (Marsula) Heller and was also preceded in death by her husband Gilbert C. “Gil” Trappen and a brother Harry E. “Butch” Heller. She was a retired nurse receiving an associate degree in nursing from McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing and was a member of the board of directors of the McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, McKeesport.

Walter Carl Motz, age 86, of Edgewood, died October 10, 2019, at the Aspinwall VA Hospital. Born November 28, 1932, in Pigeon Forge, VA, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Bernice (Moore) Motz and the husband of the late Margaret (Jones) Motz.
Walter was retired from Stuckert Towing, where he was an auto mechanic. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. Walter was a member of the Wilkinsburg Lodge F&AM.

John A. Sotak, age 56, of Fuqua Varina, North Carolina, formerly of North Huntingdon died October 7, 2019 at his home. He was born May 9, 1963 in Braddock, Pa., a son of Barbara Hruby  Sotak and the late John B. Sotak. John was employed as the International Director of Sales for Xylem Inc. He was a 1981 graduate of Norwin Senior High School and graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He enjoyed cooking, traveling and sports.  He is survived by his wife Julia Sotak, three sons, Tyler and Andrew Sotak, Zach Albert, one sister, Susan Hozak and her husband Mark, nieces,Krisin Consuegra (Daniel), Natalie Calhoon (Nick) great nephews and niece Tyson, Paxton and Lucy. On Tuesday, October 15, 2019, Elsie Kolcun, Dunmore, PA formerly of Duquesne, PA, passed away peacefully at the age of 83. Born in Duquesne, PA she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Chabala) Vasilisin. Married to the late George Kolcun, whom she shared 53 devoted years with before his passing in 2009. They relocated in 2003 to be near their daughter Sharon and her family. Elsie was a lifelong member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne and St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, Dunmore, PA. She was retired from the Greek Catholic Union claims department. Prior to relocation she was a very active member of her church and District One of the Greek Catholic Union. Elsie passed the time crocheting, especially baby afghans as gifts, which many new babies have enjoyed. She loved to cook and bake for her grandchildren, the loves of her life.

James was retired from Reinhold's Ice Cream, Teamster Local 205, and was an Army Veteran. He loved his family, especially his best friend  Morgan. James enjoyed camping, fishing and was an avid woodworker. James is survived by his wife, Sandra (Barnes) Dougherty, Daughter; Casey Jo (Rege) Kuzel, granddaughter; Morgan; step-grandchildren;  Taylor and Dylan Kuzel, siblings; Patricia Petro and Hugh (Debbie)  Dougherty. He is preceded in death by his parents. Grace Joy Benteler, age 90, of Elizabeth Township died October 14, 2019 at home. Born July 10, 1929 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Gerardo and Josephine (Mazzucco) D’Andrea and the wife of Earl Benteler.
Grace married her best friend, Earl, in 1956, and they spent 63 years together. Grace had worked for the Duquesne Light Company and as a caretaker for her grandchildren. She loved her family and cared for them as a homemaker. Grace was a volunteer at UPMC McKeesport Hospital in the gift shop. She enjoyed tending to her garden and cooking for her family.

Arnold Harris, 77, of Clairton, Pennsylvania peacefully departed this life on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from the AHN Jefferson Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Arnold was born February 19, 1942, in Clairton, PA to the late Wallace Harris and Lorraine Jones Harris. He was preceded in death by Clarence Harris, Linda Harris, and Ronald Harris.

He received his formal education from the Clairton Public School System.  Arnold then joined the United States Army where he served honorably. Following his return home, he was employed by U.S. Steel Corporation Clairton Works and visited 1st A.M.E. Church where his family are life long members.

Mary A. (Macioce) DeRubeis, age 86 of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Paramount Senior Living in Baldwin.  Born February 28, 1933 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Louise (Volpe) Macioce-Mancini.  She was an owner and proprietor, along with her late husband, of DeRubeis Bar and Grille in Clairton, a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, the Sons of Columbus of America, Regina- Della Valle, Council No. 40 where she was president for 34 years, and a volunteer at McKeesport Hospital. She was very active with church functions, the St. Paulinus Church Bazaar, and Clairton Fireman's Fair.  She was also an honorary graduate of the Clairton High School Class of 2019.  Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her late husband of 25 years John B. DeRubeis, who passed away on July 7, 1975.  Mary is survived by her children Madeline L. (Ron) Kelley of White Oak, Fred P. (Debbie) DeRubeis of Elizabeth, James D. (Nasreen) DeRubeis of Greensburg, and Thomas A. (Mary C.) DeRubeis of Upper St. Clair; sisters Madeline (the late Lawrence) Sporio of Clairton and Virginia (the late Joseph) Sebastian of Clairton; brother-in-law Marcello (the late Anna) Bernoni of Rome, Italy; grandchildren Brian, Summer, Anthony, Dominique, and Isabella DeRubeis, and Kristina (Andy) Walton; great-granddaughter Alexys DeRubeis;  also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

"Gerry" (Hollick) Gosney; his children John Jeffrey (Robie) Gosney of Port Vue and Jacqueline (Drew) Patrick of Level Green; his grandchildren Jonathan (Jessica,) Jenna, and Julia Gosney, Clay and Gavin Patrick, and Jackson Foraker; his great-grandson Jett Gosney; his son-in-law Brian Foraker; and his godsons Joe Giansante, Patrick Vennebush, and Christopher Muic.  Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter Joni Lynn Gosney Foraker.
