Mary Lee Barker, 72, of White Oak, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019. She was born November 15, 1946 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Roberta (Dunlap) Johnston. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses McKeesport Congregation. Prior to raising her family, Mary Lee had worked for the former People's National Bank.

Chester Charles Mazur, 89, of White Oak, passed away at home on Friday, October 25, 2019. He was born July 16, 1930 in McKeesport and was the son of the late John and Sophie (Warholak) Mazur. He was a was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, White Oak AARP, White Oak American Legion and the Friday Night Bowling League. Chester was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. For his service he received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Medal.

He was born in Franklin County, N.C. on May 12, 1926 and is the son of the late Samuel and Leacy Alston Brown and the husband of the late Vivian Arlene Tyler Brown. He served in the Navy during WWII and was employed at Universal Cyclops.

Mona F. Naimark, formerly of White Oak, currently of Asheville, NC, died Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Mission Memorial Hospital, Asheville, NC. Born in Brooklyn, NY, December 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Margaret Stark Izsak. Wife of the late Bernard G. Naimark, she is survived by her sons, Eric (Roberta) Naimark of Asheville, NC and Mitchell (Barbara) Naimark of Severna Park, MD, also by 5 grandsons, 1 great grandson, and 6 great granddaughters. Mrs. Naimark served for many years as secretary of the former Congregation Tree of Life–Sfard in White Oak, PA. She was a member of the Congregation Beth Ha’Tephila in Asheville, NC and was a member of the former Congregation Tree of Life–Sfard in White Oak. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 28, 2019 at 3:30 PM in the Tree of Life–Sfard Cemetery with Rabbi Paul Tuchman officiating. Esther (Skillsky) Steimer age 98, of Houston, TX formerly of Duquesne, on October 22, 2019. She was born June 11, 1921 in Duquesne. A daughter of the late William and Nell Skillsky. Esther was much more than a homemaker, earlier in life she was the bookkeeper of her fathers coal mining business. She attended Business School and obtained a pilot license. She became the wife of Joseph Steimer; and raised nine children. A talented seamstress, she created beautifully tailored clothing for all of her girls and decorative treatments for her home. They may have complained about not having off the rack clothing, but now we know how special that was. Among other things, she taught her boys how to dance (with limited success). She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Steimer; mother of Mary Rinaldi (William Gipson) of Montgomery, TX, Linda Curcio (Dr. Lawrence Curcio) of Chapel Hill, NC, Joseph W. Steimer, Jr. (Jean Steimer) of Bellevue, NE, Kathleen Steimer of Selinsgrove, PA, Christopher P. Steimer (Kathleen Steimer) of Elizabeth Twp., PA, Paula Santoski (Jack Doane) of River Oaks, TX, Patrice Sharp (Michael Sharp) of Friendswood, TX, Eileen Rensel (Robert Rensel) of Bakersfield, CA and Martin Steimer (Eleanor Steimer) of Elizabeth Twp., PA; also survived by 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and caregivers, Dulce and Zennia. Josephine A. (Chervon) Biles, age 71, of Elrama, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital. She was a retired bank teller at Equibank in Pleasant Hills and enjoyed playing cards, traveling and going to the casino. Born June 27, 1948 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Mary (Buhonick) Chervon. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael G. Biles; siblings, Alvin Chervon, Jr. of North Carolina, Richard (Elizabeth) Chervon of South Park and Sylvia LaBonte of Yucca Valley, CA; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Chervon. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Michelle S. Jacobs, age 53, of Port Vue, died October 22, 2019, at home. Born April 25, 1966, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Carol (Newton) Santone and Ronald (Joanne) Junecko and the wife of Brian G. Jacobs.
Michelle cared for her children and many other children of the community. She was truly a selfless person and dedicated her life to caring for others. Michelle enjoyed working with crafts, and anything outdoors. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Michael A. Chomanics Sr., 81, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019. He was born October 12, 1938 in McKeesport, son of the late Michael and Julia Rebar Chomanics. Prior to his retirement, Michael was a custodian for Norwin School District. Michael enjoyed woodworking and was previously self employed as a custom cabinet maker. He also enjoyed sightseeing and casino trips with his wife. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha M. Chomanics; brothers, Stephen and Paul Chomanics. He is survived by his sons, Michael Chomanics and his wife, Laura and Mark Chomanics and his wife Suzanne; granddaughter, LeeAnn (Brandon) Meyer; and great-grandchildren, Vincent, Francis and Lillian. In addition to being a partner of IGFM Studios, among being involved with many other organizations. He had extraordinary artistic talents and had and endless imagination.
