Ralph Casciato, age 94, of White Oak, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Ralph was born on February 11, 1930 and raised in Rankin, PA. He is the son of the late Cesidio Casciato and Antoinette Falcone Casciato. Ralph was married to the late Eleanor Tomko Casciato for 65 years when she passed away in January, 2023. A loving father and grandfather, he is survived by sons Chris (Lisa) Casciato of New York City and Southampton, NY and Greg Casciato of Port Chester, NY, as well as grandchildren Jack, Kate, Will, James and Teddy Casciato. He is also survived by his sister Matilda Nucci of Chalfant, PA. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by sisters Mary Latinovic and Lena Sciulli of Rankin, PA and Ann Mantia of Swissvale, PA.

Xander Michael Maxwell, 18, of Wall, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. He was born on May 20, 2006 and was the beloved son of his parents Derek M.B. Maxwell and Destiny Marie Wehrhan. He was a 2024 Graduate from East Allegheny High School and he worked for Century 3 Kia as a parts specialist. Xander had a passion for gaming, building his own PC, which he used to livestream Fortnite and Valorant, on Twitch. He was a very tall, beautiful, loving and big hearted man. He was very intelligent, funny and had an amazing sense of humor. He was genuinely one of a kind. Most importantly he made his parents and siblings very proud and he was an amazing friend.

Kenneth E. "Tiny" Wesolowski, 33, of West Mifflin passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024. He was born in McKeesport on July 6, 1991 and is the son of Kenneth Wesolowski, and Tracy (step-father, Terrance) Coulter. After high school, Ken obtained a degree from the University of Northwestern Ohio as an Auto Mechanic, and eventually training for Diesel. He later began working on heavy machinery and operating equipment for a fracking company- NexTier, who he has been with for several years. In addition to his parents, Ken is survived by his brother, Patrick (Emily) Coulter of Forward Township, and his aunt & uncle, Carol & Ken Soubeyrand of Clairton - as well as so many loving friends. Dale was self-employed and drilled gas wells. He was a known workaholic and truly enjoyed what he did. Dale owned classic cars and enjoyed reading classic car magazines. Fernando moved to McKeesport 30 years ago from New York and enjoyed bowling in a senior league in White Oak. He was clear-minded until the end and always took care of his health. He is survived by a son, Fernando (Anabella) Brandt; grandchildren, Fernando and Veronica Brandt; a brother, Luis Brandt; and many nieces and nephews. Roger A. "Butch" Spurgeon, Jr., age 62, of McKeesport, died at home on September 9, 2024. Born November 29, 1961, in McKeesport, he was the son of Roger Spurgeon, Sr. and the late Virginia (Thayer) Spurgeon and husband of Heidi (Watts) Spurgeon. Roger will be remembered for his love of camp at Deep Creek, where he spent many joyful moments, especially after retirement, enjoying boating on the lake, relaxing by a fire, and playing cards with his family, particularly enjoying spirited games of 500 and Gin. He was also a lifelong Steelers fan, a member of the 11th Ward Club, and a John Wayne fan. Roger's laid-back personality and his penchant for having fun endeared him to those around him, leaving cherished memories that will forever be held dear by his family and friends. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Neil Robert Jones, 62, of Irwin, passed away surrounded by his family on September 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 25, 1961 in McKeesport, PA. He was the son of Betty Lou (Culbert) Jones and the late James A. Jones. Neil graduated as valedictorian from McKeesport High School in 1979, where he was also a captain of the swim team. He earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from Grove City College and later obtained a Master's in Education from Penn State University. In the 1980s, Neil became a paramedic with White Oak Rescue Squad. He went on to work with the Center for Emergency Medicine, where he taught pediatric trauma care, served as a flight medic for Stat MedEvac, and worked as a manager at Children's Hospital. He also taught at the Community College of Allegheny County.

Alec S. Patterson, age 21 of North Huntingdon, passed away unexpectedly from a heart condition on Sunday, September 8, 2024. He was born on January 31, 2003 in Monroeville, a son of Shawn Patterson and Patricia Novak Patterson. Alec was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin, and a graduate of Norwin High School in the Class of 2021. He had a passion for music, was a talented pianist, and loved to play the tuba in the Norwin Band. Alec was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree with dual majors in both Secondary Education and History. He was a Da Vinci Scholar and earned a spot on the Dean's List during all four years of his schooling. Following his collegiate graduation, Alec became a Student-Teacher at Greater Latrobe High School, a role which he cherished. Alec was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Patterson, and maternal grandparents Paul and Mary Lou Novak. In addition to his parents, Alec is survived by his paternal grandmother, Sandra Patterson (and the late Duayne Patterson), cousins, Alexander, Michael, Natalie, Annie, Gracie, Jimmy, Mila, Aubree, Noah, and aunts & uncles, Paula, Marianne, Kerie, Lee, and Dean. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Immaculate Conception Church on Friday at 10 AM with interment to follow in West Newton Cemetery.
