A. Joanne Tellman, 87, of Elizabeth Township, died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at home. She was born March 17, 1931 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John A. and Mildred I. (Monath) Ryan. She was the wife of the late Paul R. Tellman who died November 11, 2004. They were married for 48 years. Joanne was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in White Oak and was a retired Operating Room Head Nurse at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra J. Tellman of Verona, brother, John C. Ryan of North Versailles, sister, Barbara M. (Paul) DiFabio of Boston, nieces and nephews.

IRENE E. DENNE age 85, of Connellsville, formerly of Duquesne, at the home of her daughter, Sharon. An earthly angel gained her Heavenly wings on May 19, 2018, when Irene Denne passed through Heaven's Gates. She was a daughter of the late Walter and Stella (Blaczyewska) Balawajder. Irene was a wonderful and loving wife and mother. She loved and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy in life. Irene always thought of others and would brighten the day of others by sending cards. She also enjoyed feeding birds every morning from the back porch. Irene will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. She loved listening to Polka Party every Sunday morning and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Penguins. She was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and prayed the Rosary daily for those in need. Beloved wife of the late Bernard T. Denne; mother of Sharon (Bill) Crissman of Connellsville, PA, Linda (David) Konar of West Mifflin and Thomas B. Denne of Turtle Creek. Predeceased by her son-in-law, Carl I. Thomas, Jr.; grandmother of Amanda (David) Pinkosky, Sarah (Lenny) Minnick, Rachel Leonard, Michael Ragan and Nick Denne; great- grandmother of Kendall Minnick and Cole Minnick; sister of Genevieve (late William) Kalaskie, Kathy Ingel and the late Joseph (surviving spouse Audrey) Balawajder; also nieces and nephews. Visitation on Monday, May 21, 2018, from 1-8 p.m. at the MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300 where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, at 10 a.m. Rev. Thomas Lewandowski, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.

Lia, 87 of Duquesne, died May 18, 2018.  She is the daughter of the late Daniel and Smilja Medich and wife of the late Salvator Lia.  Helen is survived by her sons Joseph Lia and Michael (Norma) Lia; grandchildren Angela (Robert) Vogan, Michelle (Matthew) Cerasuolo, Benjamin Lia and Daniel Lia and great grandchildren Camden and Emilia.  She was a member of St. Sava’s Serbian Orthodox Church; Duquesne Women’s Club and Holy Trinity Kolo.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne Tues. 2-4 and 6-8. A Pomen will be held Tues. at 7:00 pm.  A funeral liturgy will be held Wed. 10:00 am at St. Sava’s Serbian Orthodox Church with the Very Rev. Stevan Rocknage.  Interment following Jefferson Memorial Park.

"Deano" Keener, 58 of Glassport died May 16, 2018.  He is the son of the late William and Belva (Matthews) Keener.  Dean is survived by his beloved wife Gloria (Walsh) Keener; daughter Kristen Keener; grandchildren Mykal Massrotian, Larry Jackson, Malik Jackson, Alaina Jackson, Trevaughn Jackson and Naveaha Jones; brothers Gary (Sheila) Keener and Daryl Keener; sisters Pam Nasal, Sheila (Joe) Lucey, Cheryl Ann Campbell, Nancy Sisko and Brenda Keener.  He was a beloved uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Also, a very special friend to two very special little boys, Devin and Aden.  He was preceded in death by sister Teena Keener and brothers Bill and Georgie Keener.  Dean was an avid toy car collector and would repair them and give them to Devin and Aden.  Dean was always quick with a joke to make people smile and always willing to help when needed.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport Mon. 6-8.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Wojciechowski Funeral Home.

Survivors are 5 children, Leah (the late Bob) Scheaffer, Janet (Bill) Main, Alice Jean (Paul) Hurley, Chuck Schumann, Vicki (Frank) Simonetta; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her former husband of 24 years, Richard Schumann; grandchildren, Robby Williams and Tuan Schumann; brothers, Joseph Gilbert, Frank and Chuck Hamburger; sister, Gertrude McKenzie and husband, Gerald (who reared her).
