Carl E. Short, 54, of Greensburg, died Thursday September 15, 2017. He was born June 3, 1963, in McKeesport, a son of Larry Short and the late Dorothy Ann Taylor. Carl Short was an ordained minister and committed to community service and helping the lives of others.
 
The last years of his life were spent helping the lives of people suffering from addiction and mental illness, working with the Democratic Party to promote positive change, and ministering throughout the community. He was an excellent cook, a sharp dresser, and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to laugh, make others smile and laugh, and watch scary movies with his family and friends. He loved his children and his grandchildren dearly. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many relatives whom he loved.
 
Carl is survived by his seven children, Justin short and wife, Paula; Shamira Gelin and husband, Jean; KC Short, Shawn Short, Shakeem Short, Kelli Short, and Lamicah Short; four grandchildren, Jayden Gelin, Ava Gelin, Sophia Short, and Amara Gelin; his uncles James Taylor and Tony Taylor, their children and grandchildren; his aunts Brenda Lawrence and Shirley Weatherspoon, their children and grandchildren; his sister Kimberly Jones and her children, and his siblings, Herman Jordan, Gary Smith III, Lakitta Smith, Kimberly Jordan, Paul Baker, and Malik Smith, as well as many relatives too numerous to mention.

Martha Marie Hubans, 85, of Lincoln Borough, died Sunday, September 17, 2017. She was born October 31, 1931 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John and Mary M. Banik Gajdzik. She was the wife of the late Stephen A. Hubans who died May 2, 2011. She was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township and was also a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church in McKeesport where she was the church's organist for 40 years. Martha owned and operated her own Beauty Shop at home. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Flister of West Mifflin and Marcy (Michael) Hall of Elizabeth Township, son, Robert J. (Judy) Hubans of Elizabeth Township, sister, Maryann (Mike) Palyo of Lincoln Borough, 4 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was a former employee of US Steel Homestead Works and retired from Bakewell Corp. A member of Christ Lutheran Church, he was an avid golfer and for 15 years coached the Duquesne Little League and also umpired in the City Parks League and belonged to the Pittsburgh Umpire Association. He was the husband of the late Hazel (Carman) Bradley; father of Matthew Bradley, Heather Bradley and Joseph Bradley, Sr., all of Duquesne; grandfather of Joseph Bradley, Jr.; brother of Sherrie (Joseph) Kiss of Oakdale, George (Joy) Bradley of Mars and Faith (Keith) Edwards of West Mifflin. Visitation on Monday 2-8 p.m. at the MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Pastor John Gropp, officiating. Elva Louise Boissin, 79, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born  April 28, 1938 in Manown, the daughter of Charles R. and Louise L. Staffen Cain, Sr.

Elva was a 1957 graduate of Monongahela High School. She was a lifetime member of the River Hill Church of Christ in Monongahela where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school, was involved in their youth group, active in the prayer chain and flea markets and was in charge of sending cards to church members for all occasions. Elva worked on the Honor Roll committee for the War Memorial that was erected on the church property. She was the family historian for the Staffen's and the Cain's. Elva loved to travel, enjoyed going to the Red Caboose, eating pizza and wings and loved being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Allen Boissin  with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage on October 3, 2016; three daughters, Nancy Tencer and husband Joe of California, Debbie Boissin of Fallowfield Township, Lynne Boissin of Forward Township; twin granddaughters, Merry Andrejchak and fiance' Chad Cyktor, Roxanne Lewis and husband Lance; great grandson, Jaxson Lewis; two brothers, Charles R. Cain, Jr. and wife Shirley and Raymond Cain both of River Hill.

He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, a veteran of the US Army, a retiree of Peoples Natural Gas Company’s Monongahela Office, enjoyed sports, high school football, gardening, collecting coins, spending time with his family and was an animal lover.  Arrangements have been entrusted to S.
