John G. “Lobo” Barretta, 88, of McKeesport, died Jan. 11, 2017, at UPMC McKeesport. Born Mar. 6, 1928, in Turtle Creek, he was the son of the late Earnest L. and Mary (Lebanno) Barretta and the husband of Aurora (Marchetti) Barretta.
John was a member of St. Patrick Church. A U.S. army veteran, he served as a medic in the Korean War. Returning home from overseas, he became a barber in Wilmerding, a trade that he would continue, at least part time, for the rest of his life.

James “Jim” “Fizzer” Noris O’Bryon, 86, of West Mifflin, formerly of Jefferson Hills, passed away at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born August 22, 1930, in McKeesport, to the late Clifford and Margaret Lloyd O’Bryon. James is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Harrison O’Bryon; daughter, Marsha (Douglas) Murphy of Chantilly, VA; grandsons, Matthew & Kyle Murphy also of Chantilly, VA and loyal dog “Bear”.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Eileen Baron, Patricia Minnicks; brother, Lloyd O’Bryon.  Jim served in the US Army during WWII, was employed by US Steel Irvin Works in plant protection, was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church, enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, golfing, was the former owner of Mon Valley Shooting Supplies, former president of the Lions Club of Jefferson Hills, the Syria Shrine Gun Club and Clairton Sportsman Club, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge # 765 of East McKeesport, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, the Masonic Scottish Rite of Pittsburgh and American Legion Post 712 in Pleasant Hills.  Visitation will take place on Sunday January 15, 2017  from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street,  Clairton,  PA   15025.  A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday January 16, 2017 at 10:00 am followed by interment at Jefferson Memorial Park with military honors.  Online condolences may be offered at www.finneyfuneralhome.com

She is survived by her son David (Christine) Cooke of Liberty Boro and grandson Daniel Cooke. Virginia was an accomplished pianist, writer and teacher and received her Master's degree from West Virginia University. She loved animals and, in fact, participated in the rescue and rehabilitation of many animals throughout her life. She was a lover of life and believed in helping those less fortunate than herself. He grew up in a Pittsburgh, PA, graduating from Penn Hills High School and Grove City College. He went on to receive a Masters in Secondary Education from Duquesne University, an MSW from the University of Pittsburgh and a PhD in Social Work from the University of Maryland. Dr. Lemmon began his long career in social work as a juvenile probation officer for the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

Lillian Anna Foster, 91, of White Oak, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, PA.  Born in Pittsburgh, August 12, 1925, she was a retired stenographer at the University of Pittsburgh and was employed by McQuiston and Gibson, Engineers; Harbison-Walker Refractories; and by the family business, R.A. Foster and Son in McKeesport.  A graduate of Westinghouse High School, she was a member of Kephart United Methodist Church, and was superintendent of its Sunday school; was a member of A.A.R.P., Wimodausis, McKeesport Hospital Auxiliary.  She enjoyed card clubs with her many friends, but mostly enjoyed her home, cooking, and her family.  Daughter of the late Donald C. and Margaret Lintelman Steffler; wife of the late Alexander D. Foster; mother of the late Alexander D. Foster, Jr.; sister of the late Donald Steffler and Gwendolyn (Lloyd) Murray; she is survived by her daughter, Susan Jane (Todd) Moses of New Kensington, with whom she resided; 4 grandsons, Alexander D. Foster III of White Oak, Daniel Douglas (Nicole) Foster of North Huntingdon, Jonathan (Ashley) Moses of Franklin, TN, and Joshua (Jamielynn) Moses of Allegheny Township; daughter in law, Deborah J. Foster of White Oak; 5 great grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Macoy, Eleanor, Daxton, and Colton; brother in law, William H. (Virginia) Foster of the South Hills; 2 nephews, William and James; 4 nieces, Patricia (Chris), Lois, Joan (Brian), and Shirley.  Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 on Saturday from noon until 2 PM.  A service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2 PM with the Rev. Harold Mele officiating.  Interment will follow in McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
