Carol A. (Owens) Price, 77, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday April 29, 2017. She was born February 9, 1940 in Coal Valley, the daughter of the late Richard and Caroline (Kady) Owens. Carol was a former manager for Campbell’s Sunoco, North Huntingdon, and had formerly worked at Bucyrus-Erie, Glassport, Fort Pitt Steel, Versailles, and Pittron Steel, Glassport. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, North Huntingdon. Carol's greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She loved family trips to Myrtle Beach and Kelly's Island and family cook outs at her house. She also had the biggest heart and was always there for anyone who needed her.

John had been a sales person for Applied Industrial, Shadyside, and worked as a greeter and driver for the William Snyder Funeral Home, Irwin. He was a graduate of Norwin High School, class of 1973, a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior, North Huntingdon, and an active volunteer for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Roy was born September 5, 1939 in Jeannette a son of the late Edward and Bella (Hummelsine) Stoves of North Irwin. The second of five sons, he graduated from Irwin High School in 1957. Roy retired in 2003 from Emerson Electric, formerly Westinghouse, where he served as president of the Westinghouse Credit Union.

Veronica Jean Karichko Russin, age 95, originally of McKeesport died Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Grove at Irwin.  She was born February 28, 1922 in Duquesne, the daughter of the late John and Mary Polakovsky Karichko.

During World War II she worked for US Steel in Duquesne, and after the war as an operator and supervisor for Bell Telephone. 

She is survived by her children, Donna (Matt) Clay of Greensburg, Judi  (Tom) Ridge of Scottsdale, Arizona, Steven Russin and Judy Thomas of Greenock, Lois (Greg) Stepansky of North Huntingdon, Valerie (Mark) Bradley of Manor and Robert Russin of North Versailles; grandchildren, W. Russin (Vivian) Clay, Steve Russin, Katherine (Phil) Horrell and Jake Stepansky; great-grandson, Phillip Mathew; numerous nieces and nephews; companion, Jim Devlin and dear friend, Jodilynn Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen and siblings, Anna Kerekach, Pauline Cowell, and John, Joseph, Michael, Frank, and Robert Karichko. 

The family would like to thank the staff at The Grove in Irwin for their loving and compassionate care.

Friends will be received on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 4 pm until 6 pm at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). William James Petro, age 66 of Plum Borough, died Thursday, April 27, 2017.  He was born on September 11, 1950 in McKeesport and is the son on the Late John W. and Ruth Hughes Petro.  He served in the Navy and retired from the former Perkin Elmer Corporation.  He also enjoyed listening to music and playing the guitar and piano. 

He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Petro of North Braddock; son, Justin Petro of Penn Hills; brothers, Jack (Nancy) Petro of White Oak, Daniel (Deborah) Petro of McKeesport; sisters, Karen (John) Cargill of Sebastian, Florida, Kim (John) Kovac of Bethel Park, Tracey Hobson of McKeesport, Terri Cain of Turtle Creek, Allison (Raymond) Frankoski of Penn Hills, Melissa (Louis) Biscardo of Peters Twp; ex-wife, Sandy Petro of North Braddock; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Charles J. (Pogo) Puglia, age 92, of McKeesport, died on April 27, 2017. Born in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph and Felicia (Lombardo) Puglia. He was married to Lois (Horn) Puglia for a wonderful 71 years. Charles served with the U.S. Army 85th Division in Italy and North Africa during WW II. He received many medals which include; the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct, Victory Medal, European Theatre Ribbon with 3 bronze stars. Charles was a member of the White Oak American Legion, a lifetime member of McKeesport Sportsman Club. He loved to hunt, fish, and was an all around handy man. He was a former member of St. Stephens Roman Catholic Church and St. Pius V Church and currently a member of Corpus Christi Church. He was an usher and former dart club member. Charles worked for U.S. Steel in the open hearth department at National Tube. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his children, Judy (Bob) Riley of Mt. Joy, Carol (Mark) Lieberum of North Huntingdon, Joe (Beverly) Puglia of North Huntingdon; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his siblings, Josephine Uhlyar and Frances Richards, and Benedetto Puglia. Family and friends will be received at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home on Sunday April 30 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday May 1, 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church. Claudia Bondi, 84 of McKeesport passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Claudia was born March 13, 1933, the youngest of seven children of Russian immigrant parents Anasim and Anna Arashinko.  Claudia graduated from the McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing, as well as being a member of the first graduating class of the McKeesport School for Anesthesia.  She spent her entire career as a nurse anesthetist at McKeesport Hospital where she always enjoyed helping others.  After retirement, Claudia volunteered for Meals on Wheels and kept active at St Gregory’s Russian Orthodox Church where she was a lifetime member. Claudia is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter Kimberly of Tampa, Florida; her brother Jack (Joan) Arin of Baldwin; sister in law Sandra (Ronald) Brooks of McKeesport; numerous nieces and nephews; three cats and grand-dogs Mzee and Mika.  The Bondi family would like to extend their thanks to all of Claudia’s home healthcare workers who treated her with the utmost care and compassion.  Friends and family will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Committal at Mt. Loretta Tatarzyn, age 85 of North Huntingdon, died April 26, 2017 at her home. Born June 15, 1931 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Adele (Tomkowitz) Novak, and loving wife of the late Ted Tatarzyn for 54 years of wedded bliss. Loretta was a long time parishioner of Saint Agnes Church in North Huntingdon. She could often be found tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, however her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Whether it be a surprise visit to the house or one of the many family vacations traveling the world, she always cherished the time with her family. Family, faith and flowers brought her the most happiness! She is survived by her children, Ted (Joyce) Tatarzyn of Rochester, NY, Ken (Denise) Tatarzyn of Brevard, NC, Jeff Tatarzyn of Houston, TX, and Trish (Scott) Saunders of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, TJ (Kate), Jeremy (fiance Madi), Amy (Hersh), Daniel (Maria), Micah, Laura, Patrick, Cory, Grant, Victoria and Austin; great-grandchildren, Teddy, Ellie, Lucian and Shayla; also many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dolly Stawicki, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Tatarzyn.
